This is the pure spirit of every Bluegrass Festival. Musicians JUST finished their set then naturally just go off into the crowd & start jamming w the locals.
@@KarlKarsnark Ireland forever " a hole lott of Irish over time have gone to America" and brought music with them, a fine music talent over there" great stuff🙋karl
I remember when Laura Orshaw was just 13 years old, playing at the Wrench Wranch in Coventryville, NY! She's always been amazing - so glad to see her nationally known!
I hate to say it but has always been very common in Bluegrass Music that the main acts at some point during the festivals join the common people, like myself, and jam away the weekend. It's very nice and fun for them too.
What a great way to honor the audience than by playing in their center. There are some fine musicians in this group . Laura Orshaw's and Avery Meritt's fiddle solo's were incredible as was Sierra's mandolin solo,. Don't know who the other guys were but they lit is up as well. This does represent the heart and soul of America.
This was in my recommend so I had no idea who any of the musicians are or what they was going to play, what a pleasant surprise when they did, it reminded me of time spent in Ireland.
Don't know for sure, but I was at what may have been the source seed for this type of performance. A few years back I worked the 25th Anniversary Party for Asheville music venue The Grey Eagle. It was held at Lake Eden, with back-to-back stages on the lawn sloping down to the lake, alternating sets. Sierra Hull opened the festival. About halfway through her set, there was a loud "POP!" and the sound system croaked. Sierra did not miss a beat, grabbed her mandolin, jogged off stage right of the platform (just like here), leading her band to finish the set 4-5 rows deep in the center aisle of the audience.
Been in this business since 1947 and this is has got to be the best jam session ever and I have been all over. so much fun to watch Jeff Saunders on the bass. Sierra has got to be the most educated and the most progressive mandolin player in the world. Hint: No one else could have learned all the ( My Bluegrass Heart) tunes.
Real musicians don’t need a stage or a plan they just need their instruments and a song. I was at a country music event with my daughter (2006??) and there was a ‘private’ little stage show between “acts” where different musicians were doing a little impromptu one after the other. Interesting but not…outstanding. Until Craig Morgan came out. He called up some of the others from backstage and tried to do a little jam with them. Craig was the only musician- the others just performers- and it flopped bad. Nobody could just pull it off, no jam skill. That little jam on the dirt with Hull and the others was over the top and fun, great to listen to. Real musicians.
I'll be damned all of you was amazing I just made my 61st birthday complete and that bass player you are awesome dude thank you for sharing that made my day
In the 60's I use to attend such impromptu hootenannies every Sunday afternoon in Washington Square park, Greenwich Village neighborhood in lower Manhattan - less than two miles north of the Wall Street financial district. Come Monday morning some of the musicians were at their desk in 3 piece suites.
In case y'all haven't figured it out, it really is Sierra's show. A real star. A legend in front of you. The real deal. And you live in her times, and she , in yours. And this happened because she led everyone to it, cause she's a star & other players will follow.
For that little guy, Wyatt. A reason to keep picking. I simply don't understand people who have no clue about how this music stays alive and down voted this.
Ah, I used to go to a bluegrass camp and whilst I studied under some of the best names in the business - the jams on the lawn (and later in the bar) were so good, and you never knew who you might be playing with/alongside/after. Once, a few beers down I was impressed with the mando player to my right - hadn't seen him before, but he was good. I learned later that he was John Paul Jones. Oh, BTW - I want the banjo player's shirt!
Wyatt is pushing the envelope for himself to keep up. I dont know how anyone can keep up with that - it's a blistering pace, but Wyatt does keep up which is astonishing.
That young fella's gonna walk away from this encouraged to be better the next time, not discouraged that he couldn't keep up with more experienced players. That's the heart of bluegrass and jam sessions.
This is the pure spirit of every Bluegrass Festival. Musicians JUST finished their set then naturally just go off into the crowd & start jamming w the locals.
Anytime I need a little smile I come on over to Wyatt’s channel ❤
:)
I am In love with bluegrass music I am from Jalisco Mex God bless the USA 👍👍👍
I'm from Ireland , the music is so similar but it just has a different twist🤟👌love it😊
There are lots of Bluegrass versions of Old Irish standards and you'll often see the same players at both festivals here in the Sates. Erin go Bragh!

I was raised on bluegrass and love that younger people are getting into it. Keep it up Wyatt!
same here
the real hero is the bass player.
This is the correct answer.
Of COURSE ❤️
Amen!
Correct
Yep. Look how fast Sierra’s hand is moving
Everybody is so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Takes me back to my own bluegrass festival days.. music of the people in amongst the people!
Makes my heart sing! 😊
Goose bumps. Head to toe goosebumps. My people!
😊
I like how Sierra kicks it off and everyone else knew the song and jumped right in.
Sierra and her friends just having a blast , how can you not love it , all very talented folks indeed :)

Wyatt you are on your way to being a true great player in bluegrass
The heart and soul of America is way more than white people jamming.
Shaun Richardson on guitar.

Excellent!! I cannot think that fast
Now this is why I LOVE BLUGRASS! What other genre of music at a show the band on stage comes down to jam with the audience?

Jeff Saunders is a force of nature on bass...this is shortly before the 'other' Sierra (Ferrell) snatched him up for her band:)
This is a happy time.
This is so beautiful -- I'm crying.
❤️
Absolutely first class
Merci 🙏

Brilliant music circle and I like what can hear, nice Sierra´s solo and violins dialogue.

Bringing it “into the crowd” instead of “to the crowd.”

For the artists, a moment in time. For the audience, a moment of a lifetime.

We want more. The audience is large, the music and singing is few. We want more.
Fly over country….. my people. We are in for the fight of our lives to keep our country and its music
Seriously, they should play this kind of music half time, Superbowl
