@Uncle Gilbert The origins of traditional Irish music is well documented and is widely known to have originated over 2000 years ago. That was before any English came to America.
It reminds me of when I was a kid mom and dad would move the furniture out of the way and the whole family would dance to whatever. Damn life was so simple no cell phone no computer and we still had a blast.

The dancing you referenced is called the "Barnyard Shuffle" I'm from Kentucky that's what the old folks called it. Its actually hard to do requires great cardio.
Yea I live in Northern England of Scottish Irish descent and have travelled both Ireland and Scotland (lot of music pubs) and I can see where American folk music originates .
The Scots Irish brought it over here in the mid-1700's. People from that era brought their music, and because of isolation, has changed a little, but not a lot.

Nothing like it anywhere else in the world. Love listening to this! this is why I won't put taps on my shoes...on the sidewalk, in the mall, I'd never stop. fiddlers would be my keepers, like a drug. How can you not dance..
I sent my daughter Sarah to tap dancing and ballet but she never reached the pinnacle of perfection shown by Miss Moonshine; pure poetry, synchronised, and subtly resonating kinetic harmonics; sweet movement, delightful rhythm.
