Plant doesn't care for his singing style during this period, either. Keith and Jimmy are absolutely the same in one important and brilliant way. Yeah sure... And then get the bootlegs from the Knebworth gigs and hear what they REALLY played on those nights, not the studio-doctored stuff from "LZ - DVD". That stuff is about as "live" as "KISS Alive". Also, LZ never did anything "perfectly" live on stage. They were notoriously hit-and-miss, especially Bonham and Page. Plant had awful nights, too. His voice was never the same after he damaged it severely in 1973 or so. They were great when everything came together - but half of the time it didn't.
They should have added a second guitarist starting for the 75' tour. Would not have been a member per se, only for touring. By 75' many of the arrangements had become too busy for one guitarist to play. Many songs could not be reproduced live as a result, and several songs from Physical Graffiti and on really needed that second guitarist to fill out the sound. Just my opinion.
The Song Remains The Same, Kashmir and Achilles Last Stand all had alot of guitar layering in them in the studio. Live was another matter and Jimmy did the best he could. In 1977 at MSQ, Page performed all 3 songs with no layers at all and it was admirable. Yet, when I saw Page & Plant with full orchestra, the sounds you heard in The Song Remains The Same were staggering!
you dont have to be acrobat on guitar to write good songs. For what it is, it worked for Rolling Stones. DIfferent bands. And different styles despite that all songs based on the blues idea.
Many bands with only one guitar but you'll hear 2 guitars in the recorded album. Like a stairway to heaven, also in a song Black dog you can hear the 2nd lead in the music.
When I was 15, I bought LZ 1 right after its release. I bought every album after that as soon as they were available. I could feel the end coming. The clues were in the music. The band had changed and the audience had changed. The rock music scene had changed. Some of you will know what I mean.
When I was a kid, I had a dream that Bill Wyman quit Rolling Stones. Band hadn't found a new bass guitarist yet. They had to go on stage. Keef strapped on both a guitar and a bass guitar. It wasn't even a double necked instrument. It was 2 single necked instruments strapped to the one musician. Keef worked so hard. He kept moving his hands back & forth between the 2 instruments. He didn't miss a note, but he was exhausted afterwards. He said it was too hard to do that night after night, and that they needed to find a bass guitarist ASAP. 😌💭 🎸🎸
Presence is still my favorite LZ album - I don't care what anyone has to say about it. When you begin with Achilles Last Stand, then end with Tea For One, how can any album of work be any more blissfull? It's the Dark Horse of LZ album's.
All the people arguing about which is a better guitar player are missing the more important point: These are two of the most successful guitar-riff-writers of all time. Nowadays, intermediate guitar players can learn to play most JP’s solos, but nobody is coming up with catchy guitar riffs like JP or Keith did consistently, album after album. That is the genius part IMO.

Keith Richards is no one to give any advice about the guitar to.
Except the fact he has came up with a handful of some of the most iconic guitar riffs in rock history and is one of the most succeful songwriters with his partnership with Mick. But yeah other than that not much 🙄
@@sambakery2006 oh no now don't take anything away from him he was one of the biggest pop stars of the day hahaha. Just because he couldn't do progressive rock are Jazz Rock Fusion like Jeff Beck Jan akkerman Steve h o w e Allan Holdsworth Al Di Meola Joe Satriani. But you and I know that's just simplistic stuff anyone could do that but that pop stuff is really difficult hahaha I mean you can ask anyone about that It's Complicated music. I like the ccver and inside art. Achilles' Last Stand is my favorite track. I think it's over 8 minutes.
Respect to keith but he couldn't hold Jimmy's jockstrap.
Keith is good, but he will never be AS GOOD as
JIMMY PAGE!!!!!
Why would he want to?
Keith is more of a songwriter than a flashy guitarist which I respect a lot more.

Terry Reid was asked to be lead singer of Led Zeppelin so that would’ve been a phenomenal version of Led Zeppelin even if quite different with 2 guitarists and the Super-lung singer himself! Terry Reid actually told Page to see Rainbow which was Plant and Bonham’s band.
All this hate towards Keith. He actually said that Jimmy is Led Zeppelin. He didn't care for Bonham's drumming and Plant's singing... Plant doesn't care for his singing style during this period, either. Keith and Jimmy are absolutely the same in one important and brilliant way. It's their genius ability to hear and layer guitar parts - melding the parts into one. By the way, they both have huge respect for one another as musicians.
Someone not caring for Bonhams drumming is some braindead shit.
Way cool 😎! Good album. Rock On. The Atomik sends. Peace ✌. 😊
This is a horrible taint on the thoughts of a bohemian.. someone so free as Keith.. who shines so much love into music.. who has embraced everything from the basement floor up.. someone who has the creds to pluperfect any music he enjoys.. to say this publicly.. well, it hurts me heart.. not because the mighty zep can’t withstand critics.. God knows that’s been done magnificently.. it’s just that my main man Keef here.. he’s showing his well deserved place in history and it smacks lilts of ethnocentric.. he is not too old because he has become a spirit in rock.. really his work will haunt the world as long as there are material bits to it.. it just makes the God Father of Rock look less invincible.. not to appreciate the iconic place in history Led Zeppelin holds.. Loud evolved well thanks to Jimmy & John.. thunderous rock took shape from the tiny mono footprint.. and this is what he has to say about it?
Paige is absolutely brilliant
Keith.....you should have a lot of respect for Jimmy Page!!! GOAT
You could learn everything from him when it comes to playing the guitar...and not just playing three cords on one 🎸
Yes indeed!
Led Zeppelin is the best rock band there has ever been! They opened the curtain and let the blind see the sun. They invited the wheel. There manager is also a mountain mover!!
I prefer Deep Purple, but for sure I like LZ and I don't engage at all with Rolling Stones
He was off his head on herion at the time lol
Rolling stones are mids. Zeppelin is the goat. Makes sense.
Watch the last tour, the one that ended early, from the DVD set. They do that song perfectly.
Presence was a largely vacuous album recorded when they were burnt out, drugged or traumatised.
Traumatized..😅😅
@@SlickArmor yep, Plant was a wreck, you can hear it in his voice, particularly on Achilles last stand. Smashed up physically.
THE GOAT !!!!
Keith Richards? Who’s that?
Just look at him(Keith) you can see he has no taste😂
They should have added a second guitarist starting for the 75' tour. Would not have been a member per se, only for touring. By 75' many of the arrangements had become too busy for one guitarist to play. Many songs could not be reproduced live as a result, and several songs from Physical Graffiti and on really needed that second guitarist to fill out the sound. Just my opinion.
Jimmy Page does two guitar players, while Keith Richards can't do one! Brian Jones and Mick Taylor were better Stones guitarists!
Because he’s Jimmy page and Keith isn’t
How can he not like Led Zeppelin.
You can not compare KR to JP. Jimmy Page is The Artist, Keith Richards is a guitarist is a joke
you dont have to be acrobat on guitar to write good songs. For what it is, it worked for Rolling Stones. DIfferent bands. And different styles despite that all songs based on the blues idea.
Сто лет! И! Здоровья! Вам!❤Черти! Старые!...
People usually don't like others who are better than them...
Proove him saying that!
In the closeup of Kieth, he looked like an AI generated cartoon character.
Tea For One.
I do love Presence, except for 2 songs. Great work for a musician playing with Mr. D
Royal Orleans gotta be one of em. But the others are somewhere between good and great.
Page sweats more than any human. What a sight. Saw him w the Firm in Frankfurt.
I could never figure out how Page never got lost in all the notes and chords. I get lost sometimes just listening.
Page is more handsome now than before. That's awesome.
Jimmy Page will always be the best !!!❤
Many bands with only one guitar but you'll hear 2 guitars in the recorded album. Like a stairway to heaven, also in a song Black dog you can hear the 2nd lead in the music.
Great album
he's the reason I got my first guitar, at 8 yrs old😊
Achilles Last Stand is my second favorite LZ song
Truth ❤
There wasn't room on that stage for a second guitar player. Everyone knows that. 😊
Of course. However, I would like to see any guitar player try and keep up with the band as well as Page did.
Tea For One - Zep playing the blues in G Minors
That song is very similar to “Since I’ve Been Loving You”. Almost sounds like a different take of the song.
Best ever
Yeah. They could have brought in Pat Smear.
Ha, good old Pat Smear. The happiest guy in rock music.
I've got my medicine,that's it
When I was 15, I bought LZ 1 right after its release.
😌💭 🎸🎸
I'm in a 3 piece power trio. It's extremely challenging and wish we had another guitarist or keyboardist.
Presence is still my favorite LZ album - I don't care what anyone has to say about it. When you begin with Achilles Last Stand, then end with Tea For One, how can any album of work be any more blissfull? It's the Dark Horse of LZ album's.
How can anyone say who’s better between the Stones and Zeppelin? You can’t compare them. Enjoy each one for who they are.
I love the pic at the end with Ronnie Wood and Jimmy… although I was very surprised that Jimmy was smoking a cigarette, I was under the impression that he quit smoking around the same time he stopped drinking… although I guess when you’re in the company of notorious chain smokers I suppose it’s polite to partake if offered.
