Besides the exercises shown here, the hip flexor and groin pain programs in my book will help you recover from this issue. They are more comprehensive programs that guide you through three phases of rehab. All of the programs have pictures of me doing exercises and instructions. Thanks Tom! I read the hip chapter in your book this morning and also the bunion chapter. I've always felt that if my feet were stronger, a lot of my problems would be solved. I am going to do the exercises you recommend and hope for the best!😊❤
Thankyou sir, this definitely has helped me so far, As a uber driver, i sit a lot for way more than 8 hours. I recently made this suddenly movement while bending and twisting in the shower. Ive always felt my abdominal muscles have been bad since driving and not exercising. I felt a sudden strain in my groin, had been icing, and tried to figure out what had happened. These stretches has actually made the strain feeling in my groin subside.
I've been swimming laps as rehab for this injury, so far so good. I'm able to do normal planks and pull ups. I refuse to do sit ups though because that is the exercise responsible for a horrible back injury I had a few years ago. Rehab has been fairly slow going for me but I do feel like the swimming did help a lot. Hoping I can get back to full strength soon.
PCP and PT had difficulty diagnosing this in me as it didn’t present like a hernia, but I did the exercises in this video for 2-4 weeks and my lower ab region doesn’t hurt when running at high intensity anymore. I also bought your book. Thank you! However, I was hoping you’d have exercises for vocal cord dysfunction (for runners) on your channel or in your book. Do you have exercises for that?
Thank you for buying a copy of my book! I'm so glad to hear the exercises in this video helped you! Unfortunately, I don't have vocal cord exercises on my channel or in my book as this is not an area we treat regularly in orthopedic physical therapy. Sorry!
@@haidaryousef5026 are you referring to exercises in my book? This condition is usually provoked by quick movements such as sprinting and kicking, so many gym exercises are probably OK. However, you have to base your decision on whether or not an exercise triggers your pain. If you feel pain during an exercise, then you likely need to rest from it for a while longer.
Doc., your book is my go to reference for myself and my clients. I know I've bought 6 copies for different ppl. Thank you. How do I buy one of those t-shirts?
Thank you so much! I’m so glad to hear my book has been a helpful resource! I haven’t set things up to where people could buy my rehab science t-shirt, but I will look into getting that going.
Is this different than abdominal wall tendinopathy/adductor tendinopathy. I’ve been diagnosed with this and PT has me doing some ab focused exercises. Isometric crunches and what not. Wondering if I should be incorporating this.
Hey Doc just got this injury I believe , no bulging at all , the strain (Sport Hernia) is right at the left of my right pelvic region , I guess it's a direct or an indirect inguinal hernia. being said I train BJJ , I went to make a power front thrust move on my opponent and I felt the muscle painfully POP , and I had to stop , no theres ZERO bulging , the abdominal wall seems to be completely in tact..........Being said I can lift heavy things , I had virtually no pain at all , in all range of motion EXCEPT , believe it or not engaging my hip flexor muscles , when getting off the bed being in a laying position , now in your opinion , do you think I can get back to rolling in my jiu-jitsu classes relatively soon, with doing these movements in the video you talk about ? thanks !!!!
Hey Tom, i play rugby and ive had this pain in my what feels like my pubic bone and lower ab for the past 5 months, it hurts to run, sneeze and raise my leg up to the side and back down, is this Pubalgia or something else?
What to do if the sidelying hip abductor exercise is what hurts the most. Does that mean my injury is more likely related to this tendons? Is there an alternate exercise I should be doing?
Hello Tom, so I had the injury while playing pickleball 9 days ago, now today after 9 days I saw a sports medicine doctor who said I have sports hernia. I still have pain, how soon should I start doing the above exercises? Should I wait till the pain goes away?
Usually, you can begin the first abdominal stabilization exercise right away. I would wait to implement the other exercises until they can be done with mild or less pain.
Sir, I am having pain from my left side pelvic to lower abdomen and it is not getting better due to spriting for the last 8 months but the MRI scan report is normal and there is no hernia. When I rest I get better and when I start training I get pain.( Sir I have a question regarding my cricketing career. Please help me 🙏😭)
I would incorporate the exercises in this video that can be done with mild or less pain. If more pain than this is experienced during an exercise, it likely means your body needs more healing time.
I noticed in my copy of your book that pages 449-464 are ripped and jagged across the top.😮 That section is lower and the page numbers arent visible. The machine must've done that i guess. No worries, i can still see the content!

@@RehabSciencethanks for your response. Maybe in your 2nd edition 😊
Very helpful video, thanks for that.
One question I do functional training and movements that I don't feel any pain in the recovery period?
Yes, it is usually fine to continue with functional training as long as it doesn’t provoke the pain.
@@RehabScienceso i can still train my legs in the gym?squats and pther stuff ?
Or i should let them rest and do the exercises in the book
