    My top extension is VS Code, which shows the previously opened folders. Very importantly, if you set an icon to the folder in Finder, it will show here as well. I have it bound to cmd + shift + ;

    Great video and list of extensions! There's ones for encoding and decoding things (URL/base64) that are really useful too.

    • @CodinginPublic
      @CodinginPublic  11 місяців тому +2

      Ha well I know Alfred power users are really hard to move, so just use whatever you want. I think empowering devs to make extensions is the reason Raycast has done so well.

    I have most of those as dmenu scripts 😁; the others are overkill, I mean web search can be done as easy on the browser.
    Though, good to say MacOS catching up.

    • @CodinginPublic
      @CodinginPublic  11 місяців тому

      Yeah, I’ve had a few of these spread over other items, but I’ve found I really like them in Raycast. They’re not uniquely solving these issues (like you said, you can easily find them in the browser), but keeping my hands on the keyboard has been a nice upgrade for me

    Hello, why are you using Warp ? It requires an account and an internet connection to use and also collects a lot of telemetry and everything you type is streamed to their servers for completions and other purposes but it also has no transferable skills if you use another terminal.
    Could you please elaborate on why you use Warp ?

    • @CodinginPublic
      @CodinginPublic  11 місяців тому +2

      Been using it since the early betas! It does require an account, but all the other things you mentioned aren’t true. You can turn off telemetry and they actually provide a command to see every request sent so you get full transparency. I’ve double checked it with 3rd party services and it’s showing every network request. The auto completing and other things like that are replicatable if you install a bunch of plugins and cli tools, but being preinstalled means I don’t have to mess with all of that if I don’t want to. Other extra features are great, so I’d really miss them (workflows, AI, launch configurations, etc.), but it’s not going to ruin me if I can’t use those. Hopefully that helps.
