How to Make Vaseline Cotton Ball Fire Tinder

In this short video we demonstrate how to make one of the best fire tinders, vaseline cotton balls. They are super easy to make, inexpensive and they work amazing, even when they get wet. We show you our method and demonstrate how well they work.

Great video. I also found a way to melt candle wax and coat the cotton bud in the wax. It can last over 10 minutes with 1 waxed cotton ball.

dip cotton balls in clarified butter in case vaseline isn't available and you have butter, the cotton acts like the candle wick, and the clarified butter acts as the fuel, works well too, we use that in India for prayer ceremony but I can see it being used as a fire starter as well,

Get a small zip lock baggie. Take a big spoonful of Vaseline and put it in the bag. Use the bag to wipe the Vaseline off the spoon. Add cotton balls. Seal the bag. Massage the bag until all balls are coated evenly. You're welcome.
