Thank you for this video. We are disabled, elderly and shut in. My beloved husband was raised Catholic and i converted from Baptist. We have found such blessings from your videos since we have no family to look after us. The Russian Orthodox worship is so beautiful, Blessed and sincerely meaningful. I did receive prayer ropes from Mt. Athos with a prayer card in Russian. Some years ago we noticed the Orthodox Christians of the world were under attack by world and other forces. You are in our prayers continually. Love in Christ Jesus
I feel bad for my RC brethren. The kind of music being used, even in St. Peter's is one of the reasons I left contemporary evangelical churches. I'm so glad that Christ our God and the Most Holy Theotokos led me into Eastern Orthodoxy. We use the Liturgy of St John Chrysostom, almost every Sunday. With a few exceptions we use the Liturgy of St Basil the Great. We don't change.
The Latin Church needs to go back to the traditional Latin Mass. For those of you who think popmusic isn't a part of the Catholic liturgy, it IS for many parishes. Some people don't even know there is a TLM.
I left the megachurch Protestant Church and am now preparing to begin catechism into the Orthodox Church. Briefly was attending a local Roman Catholic Church with my in laws and it pretty much emulated the pop music I heard in the mega churches. Thank God for leading me back to the ancient orthodox Catholic Church. Pray for my family that they will eventually join me.
Alex P I’m happy for you, and glad you found the Orthodox Church. I’m saying this as a Catholic. Your comment about the pop music at Catholic Churches reminding you of the Protestant mega churches really hit home. The Catholic Church has been protestantized. Prayers for you and that your family join you.
Some people might think, well that's Russia and Rome but what about elsewhere? I have been Eastern Orthodox in the United States for 21 years attending non ethnic churches in California and Colorado. The music may be sung in English but the tunes are traditional. The services may be in English but Orthodox Liturgy is the same around the World.
I don't like to say this but when the example of liturgical music was 'performed' in the Vatican, what immediately came to mind was Moses coming down from the mountain to the sounds of loud music and dancing as the Israelites worshipped the golden calf. It also appears they use this band music to stir emotions; an artificial sense of devotion and closeness to God.
I honestly feel bad for the people in the Catholic services. They seem sincere and are looking like they are doing the best they can, but ultimately are not worshipping properly. May God lead them to the Truth. That being said, I'm very grateful to be an Orthodox Christian, with our rich history, beautiful services, and correct theology.
I am a Roman Catholic. What can I do when there is not Orthodox churches in my area...the nearest is 4 hrs away...we only have protestants and RC churches...and there are so many liturgical abuses here...
@@ВенедйктИосифовичМария Get baptized and then spare few days of your year to visit that 4 hours away Church for confession and Communion. If you can find more Orthodox in your area, you can ask the bishop to send you the priest from time to time.
I am a Catholic learning about Orthodoxy for 2years now. Orthodoxy is well preserved and kept in her beauty and sensitivity as one should keep the bride of Christ. Catholic have been astray with Vatican II
As a Catholic, I just do not know what to say. Our practices became profanation of holy sanctuaries, disrespect with God, the Theotokos and the Saints of the Church. We are embarrasing the Martyrs. Its shameful. The past ten years I became more and more identified with Eastern Catholics and Orthodox practices. If not by consciousness crisis, I would long be converted. God Bless the Orthodox Church, from a humble catholic friend.
Coming from Pentacostal and charismatic background and having bern to churches of different denominations, I finally found my home in the Orthodox Church. Now don't get me wrong. I do still believe that God has told us through his Word to praise Him with our voices AND instruments. Everything we do and use is to be an exoression of praise and worship. But what has happened with the Western churches, is it's become more of a performance to satisfy the oeople and less of a true expression of our love towards God. It's really sad to see any of the liturgical churches fall into that same trap. There is a place for instruments among God's people. It just should not be during a worship service. I do appreciate, however, that in the Orthodox parishes the Liturgies are sung and chanted in the language of the community of the parish. My Ukrainian Parish is mostly sung in English, but during high holy days, it is sung in both Ukrainian and English....also whenever there are immigrants from Ukrain who don't understand English...then half the Liturgy will be in English and half in Ukrainian. Also, whenever our head priest presides, he reads the Gospel passage in both English and Ukrainian. It's beautiful to have both the traditional language and the language that I understand being used.
As a Roman Catholic follower...i am deeply dissapointed...this is not my Faith...this is not Catholicism...what a heresy. I prefer Orthodoxy, and i fell in love with it.
Deus Vult right! I’m also a roman catholic but I love the ways of orthodox because the ways of roman catholic nowadays is almost no different than of the protestants..
The Orthodox mass feels and sounds like a heavenly experience. The Catholic mass, a concert. How sad. And it's in the Vatican what's more!! I believe in the Holy Trinity, the Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Eucharistic , the saints, my Heavenly Mother, miracles, the teachings of Christ, and prayer. The rest is frilly flowery fluff
I thought I went to a night club , compared to our correct ways of the worship of our Lord & SAVOIR , ORTHODOX is the true way to worship our LORD GOD YESHUA THE CHRIST ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Placed back to back these videos show the deep respect and dignity the Orthodox maintain in their worship of the One True God. The importance of tradition cannot be emphasized enough. The beauty of the symbolic movement is not only visually astounding, but the meaning of the each movement takes you to a place nearer to God, from Earth to the Heavenly Kingdom. "O, Lord,...Preserve the fullness of Thy Church. Sanctify those who love the beauty of Thy house; glorify them in return by Thy divine power, and forsake us not who put our hope in Thee." (From the Prayer before the Ambo, at the end of the Liturgy).
As someone coming over to the orthodox faith from Catholicism, the consecration was actually the “through him with him and in him”... regardless, Orthodoxy has the true faith, pray for me please!
It kills me, as a life long faithful catholic, to see the Vatican altar defiled with such clearly protestantized liturgical practices... Vatican 2, and seeing its poison fruit (Like the 'catholic mass' shown above) has proved to me that the church of rome really has fallen far. I have been blessed enough to be able to attend the orthodox divine liturgy once in person (I had not felt that close to God since I was a little kid!), and ever since then (and even before that really!) I have felt God call me to the orthodox church. I believe that the fruits of Vatican 2, along with the whole 'charismatic' movement will send souls to Hell, and place countless other souls in peril!
+Harbinger 2321 i was formerly protestant for 28+ years and now a catechumen (someone preparing for Holy Baptism) in the Eastern Orthodox Church. this is my 4th year learning about Eastern Orthodoxy and each year i had to learn to cut away more and more of the errors i picked up in my many years as a protestant. it is a humbling process but it is the _only_ way to acquire the mind of the Church. for a roman catholic, the process can be even more challenging because of the tendency to see superficial similarities when in fact the two are very different faiths. the demonic 'charismatic' movement which has been embraced by west today (both protestantism and papism) is a result of the heretic 'filioque' which has abstracted the _hypostasis_ of the Holy Spirit into an impersonal thing. briefly, in today's christendom, there are three very different models and two different frameworks. read any apologetics on the papacy or protestantism (sola scriptura) and you will see they are filled with the word 'authority'. this word is seldom used in Eastern Orthodoxy and if you encounter it at all, it has a very different meaning. WESTERN FRAMEWORK (_authority model_) > Protestantism - Bible as authority _over_ the church > Papism - Pope as authority _over_ the church _contrasted with_ EASTERN FRAMEWORK (_tradition model_) > Eastern Orthodoxy - Holy Tradition as the Living Witness of the Holy Spirit indwelling _within_ the Church The only Head of the Orthodox Church is the Lord Himself. here is a good Orthodox talk concerning the west's claim to primacy: *Papal claims regarding the Apostle Peter and primacy* youtube (*dot*) com/watch?v=R-s8v81ZkeU *My Exodus From Roman Catholicism* | Bishop Paul de Ballestar saintnicodemos (*dot*) org/articles/exodus.php please also see the '3 christianity timeline' images i have posted on the below website. May God bless you & bring you to ORTHODOXIA (TRUE/CORRECT FAITH) & ORTHOPRAXIA (TRUE/CORRECT PRACTICES!) I, too experienced dissatisfaction with the Roman Catholic faith, beginning in my early teens (1970s.) God knew I was looking. I was brought to Orthodoxy in 1984. God knew, of course, much better than I, that I had been searching. God brought you to the well, as He did The Samaritan Woman (who was converted, then converted her family & later they were all martyred in Rome.) Her name is St. Photini (Photini is Greek for Enlightened.) You have begun your journey to The Truth. Many temptations will try to impede you; that's OK. Just remember what The Fathers say: No matter causes you to fall, or no matter how many times you fall, ask God for mercy & help. It will come, not always when & how you want it, however, it will come at the perfect time, as it comes from God (paraphrased.) One last note: Beware of the Ecumenical Orthodox who are willing to sell out to the other religions, Christian denominations & every other religion, including paganism. You have see The Pearl and are reaching for it; do not cast it to "the swine" (to borrow the Biblical metaphor.)
Lex orandi, lex credendi. If you debase your worship, you debase your theology. This Vatican II garbage in the Latin side is why I went to the Melkite side of the house.
I'm a catholic and a musician, and I definitely against that new age heresy that is going on the Catholic Church. The real liturgical music is the gregorian chant, and in the solemnities the works of Palestrina, Cristóbal de Morales, Josquin des Prez and others. For almost all the catholics, the music that you present in the video is similar to destroy the church itself and its holy liturgy. We, orthodox brothers and true catholics, shall pray for the Roman Catholics who do this to the liturgy. God bless you orthodox christian brothers. May Christ our Lord and the Theotokos be with you all.
I can't help laughing when the pop style song appear in the mass of Vatican and the mass was held by the pope !!! p.s. I've been a Roman Catholic since 1991 but I've just renounce papacy's wrong dotrines and teachings in my facebook. I will concert to be an Orthodox Christian in the near future.
This is not an accurate representation of Roman liturgical practice. Basically every element of what is depicted here can be accurately described as liturgical abuse by any competent liturgist. Understandable, but sad, that this would be described as Roman liturgy -- when it is not.
+ExVeritateLibertas as hard as it may be to accept or comprehend this, it's actually quite simple: what the pope does as his own person does not necessarily represent what the church does or is. If he is an adulterer, it is not the church which commits adultery. If he teaches error, it is not the church which teaches error. If he commits sacrilege, even, it is not the church who commits it.
"Understandable, but sad, that this would be described as Roman liturgy -- when it is not." Sadly, it is the true Roman Catholic Mass, ever since Vatican II. Or, at least what can happen under it.
My brothers and sisters in Christ. Catholics and Orthodox Christians are two lungs of the same body. We must breath together in order for the body of Christ to live on as we work for and journey toward the Kingdom of God. I am a Roman Catholic and have I great respect for the Orthodox. The Roman church as has gone through some serious changes since the 2nd Vatican Council, but I believe we are starting to reclaim what was thrown out. Please pray for us and know that I pray for the Orthodox Churches around the world. My God, the his son Jesus Christ, bless you all.
While there are many examples of the secular "pop" style music in use in the Roman Rite, there are very few time when this is used, particularly in Rome with the Pope. If you were to watch any of the liturgies shown on say EWTN throughout the year, you would hear the beautiful Gregorian Chant used throughout. While I admit, and have witnessed firsthand, the beauty of the Divine Liturgy of the Orthodox, there were better examples that could have been used to show the beauty of the Roman Rite as well, in both the ordinary and extraordinary (Tridintine) forms.
I’m a Catholic Priest and fortunately appreciate the Latin Liturgy as well as the Orthodox Liturgy in all it’s fullness. I pray that the Roman Church will answer the great wake up call in the Lord to re-enter the sanctity of the Latin Mass as well as the Divine Liturgy. To my Catholic Brothers and Sisters, hold firm and keep the faith!!! The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back soon to rectify the situation. Hold firm to prayer and fasting in the Lord. One last thing, the music in the Roman Church is “sick”. We don’t need to appeal to anyone young or old. Only to The Lord God and His Son Jesus through the Holy Spirit!!! Amen Fr. James
Though the music in the Roman Catholic uses pop music for accessibility, there are still some high Catholic churches retain the use of solemn music in their liturgy, as someone who has sung in both Anglican and Catholic churches for a few years.
As a newly converted Greek Orthodox, I feel so bad for the Roman Catholics. Back when I was protestant although I did and still do have problems with the papacy I always respected the reverence and beauty of the Latin Mass. Really sad to see it fall into the same traps that Protestantism did and I will pray for all of you.
Despues del Concilio Vaticano II la misa cambio para propiciar una mayor cercania con los protestantes. Por eso la ves tan parecida a una misa protestante. Suerte tienes de que los ortodoxos no tengais que sufrir estas herejias.
Please read the Word of God using the Spirit of wisdom and ask for His revelation, brother (Ephesians 1:17) read with the context, not every christian woman have to cover their head. It’s based on regional tradition🙌🏻 Jesus bless us and have a great day
Just, the video indicated as consecration of the Novus Ordo Missae is not the consecration, it's the final doxology and the Agnus Dei. In the rest, me, as a roman catholic, just feel ashamed.
Much better as Orthodox now. When my great great uncle S. S. Pivs pp XII was on the Papal Throne the Latin Mass with Gregorian chants was the most beautiful. Orthodox is magnificent, deeply religious and deeply moving. God bless all, Dr. G.
Beautiful! But I'll have to give it to the Orthodox. It was Cinematic! Old school in a way. It's like Ancient vs. Modernism. The small Parish that we just started attending feels this way. Even in English it's soothing to the soul! No organ, no music instruments of any kind, and not even a sound system. And it still moves me. Even after 2 to 3 hours of standing!
I am orthodox Orthodox liturgies to be something exciting this is all logi respect and spiritual face of the circus that is the Catholic church please reply I want to talk with you
You understood it to be "cinematic." The Liturgy is meant to glorify God, commemorate his Crucifiction & Resurrection and to part-take in becoming God-like through Holy Communion (as well as all The Holy Mysteries.) "Cinematic" is secular; Orthodoxy and Liturgy are Divine. That's why it's title is The Divine Liturgy.
Orthodox priest has respect for bible and Christ but pope thinks he IS the vicar of Christ and does not kiss the bible like the orthodox priest. "Come receive the light that never is overtaken by darkess and praise Christ who resurrected from the dead!"
As a Catholic, I see the Orthodox have a valid point: Catholicism needs to return to its Latin and Greek roots. The Church has become too Protestant and this has only jeopardized our strength, influence and sacredness. Hopefully Bergolio will soon resign and let Cardinal Sarah become the next Pope !!!
Michael Rex , Agreed. It does a great injustice to forsake the Latin mass and the reverence it promotes. Were I live, there is one ONE church built about 12 years ago SOLEY for the Latin mass. It face's to the east, and has kneelers and an alter rail. Latin mass is 4x on Sunday ,once ,sometimes twice each other day of the week. The next closest church that says the Latin mass once each Sunday is 157 miles away. I live on the east coast in a reasonabley large metropolitan area. There are 5 beautiful churches built in the early to late 1800 s . Why was it necessary to build a small red brick " colonial" style church just for the Latin mass ,when numerous exhist? I don't get it. However I have noticed more and more people around age 25-50 are sounding thier thoughts and displeasure at the lack of reverence, the loss of communing in Our Father's house. As opposed to the feel of going to Apple Bees or Domino's after soccer. Sorry for the long post, I guess the video hit a chord.
I'm confused. Those are Catholics not protestants? Is this some sort of editing trick? Francis cut into protestant worship? That cant be the catholic liturgy
I am a Protestant, aiming to become a priest. I can confidently say that even we usually don't have bands playing in our processions and masses. I simply just can't take that Catholic mass seriously. Then again, I'm from a more conservative region, liturgically speaking. I do however miss some of the aspects of both Roman-Catholic and Orthodox masses in our masses. Our masses (if it isn't something really special) feels a bit naked and too focused on one thing, that being the Word. It's absolutely one of the most important aspects of Christianity, but I do think that we really shouldn't focus on one thing, and one thing specifically. Belief in Christ is more than simply reading a Holy Scripture, it goes deeper and with more love and caring than a simple worldly book or piece of paper. I think no Christian tradition necessarily is wrong, but we need to work together for the Greater Good; Salvation. Not through modern pop music and loose liturgical masses, but through Theology, prayer and devotion. The Lord is good and merciful, He recieves all our prayers and looks at our masses and deeds in His honour with happiness and understanding, however they may look. I do, however, believe that He thinks a bit better of the more serious and devoted masses, such as those that the Orthodox Church holds. It was beautiful, and we should all strive to achieve such purity. Believer or not, Christian or anyone else, may God bless you and keep you healthy, now and forever. Amen.
I know this video is old but my goodness, what an embarrassment. I converted to the Catholic Church in 2010 and had no idea it was like this. Years later I am now seeing all the holes and I am leaning to the Orthodox because of the sacredness and truth of the early Church. Lord have Mercy, my heart just breaks at how the Catholics seem to like a charismatic Mass full of feelings and define that as worship.
The Eastern rite has an amazing liturgy. I am in Awe. The spirit seems to be strong in that church. I cannot say I get the same impression from the Latin rite.
The RCC has gone Southern Baptist. Same thing has happened to the Lutherans, Episcopalians, etc. I say this out of sadness, not some sort of misplaced triumphalism.
In the beginning I thought the uploader inserted the music until I saw the band. I can't believe it. I visited Novus Ordo (and Traditional Latin Mass) and it was nothing like that. A shame what happened to Catholicism after Vatican II. On the plus side, those who visit a FSSPX chapel do it from the heart, not because there is no other option. What I see in Orthodox Churches (in Germany) be it Russian, Greek, or Aramean, some attendants don't take it seriously, especially younger people and men and women wearing inappropriate clothes (shorts, cleavage, short skirts, tons of makeup etc.) Is it better in Orthodox countries?
You wouldn't say a dance party at Limelight in New York is Catholic just because the building is Neogothic... In like manner, you can use candlesticks, some robes, a few clerical collars, and a glorious building in Rome for your party with balloons and electric guitars, and it doesn't mean it's Catholic either.
Danggg im roman catholic and I am ashamed. Ive been longing to attend eastern catholic church or orthodox church but it is not available in Philippines. I wish, orthodox church will inspire catholica to embrace the traditions. Orthodx liturgy feels like the celebration of heaven and earth
@OrthodoxChurch I love how it makes the point without comment, but could you publish a version edited down to, say, under 7 minutes? This could, and should, really go viral. It’s sad how low the Catholic Church has sunk in its liturgy. Few Catholics know how rich and beautiful the liturgy can be, and need to experience an Orthodox one, or a Traditional Latin one, to understand. -- a Catholic subscriber.
*Nice! … Thank you for sharing :)* Psalm 150:1-6 "1Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, 4praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, 5praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. 6 *Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD."* If the mass is in Moscow, is it Church Slavonic that is being used? What other languages besides Church (old) Slavonic and Koine Greek are used in Eastern Orthodox liturgies? The R.C.C. Mass[a] shown at the beginning of the video (filmed at a Mass where the participants speak Spanish, not sure of the occasion) and the Consecration of the Eucharist[b] (eucharist = "to give thanks") is a variation of the Mass called the " *Novus Ordo* " (New Order) Rite (1962) It was incorporated during the Vatican 2 Council/Synod (1962--1965). Although the taking of Communion in the hand and facing the people were used in the very early days of the Christian church. RCC use an unleavened communion "wafer" that is taken separately from the wine/blood of Christ (or in some cases dipped in the precious blood) The Catholic church also uses the: 1.) *Ambrosian* (aka: "Milanese") *Rite* (4th century … i.e. the 300's AD) ……. The Ambrosian (named after St. Ambrose) rite is still used in northern Italy. 2.) *Byzantine* ("Greek") *Rite* (4th Century, Constantinople) …… The Byzantine/Greek rite is still used widely 3.) *Tridentine* ("Latin") *Rite* (1570, The "Roman rite" - replaced many local rites) ….. The Tridentine/Latin rite is gaining in popularity in "Traditional" Catholic circles. 3.) *Mozarabic* (aka: "Visigothic"/"Hispanic") *Rite* (6th century Spain) ……. The Mozarabic rite is still used in Toledo Spain a. "Mass" = Divine Liturgy b. "Eucharist" = Holy Communion
The Catholic Liturgy regardless if its Novus Ordo, is not usually celebrated like the one shown here. The ones depicted are usually special events, and not how the usual liturgy goes. But I can agree, even if the video was slightly biased, that Rome was careless in not protecting tradition; how a Pope would let an act of divine worship be turned in some entertainment; to appease the populace than the Lord Himself. Nevertheless this does not express his infallibility.
Dear Sir: We cannot re-unite b/c The West changed the Christian theology. We no longer believe the same. I urge you to study the differences between the RCC & Orthodoxy. There are some ecumenical Orthodox groups out there but they are betraying themselves, Orthodox theology, practices, history, written & oral traditions, and most of all: God. We are not the same when it comes to our theologies. P.S. I'm a former RC & Orthodox since 1984.
by uniting I mean all become orthodox because of the betrayal pope will commit, in case you were refering to me :P. As elder Ephraim of Arizona said that the oncoming war will bring the end of popeizm and ιslam.
We are still one bro, because its just an ex communication.(See excommunication)its not an act of separation, its just a limition of each people's action from one another. We're still one.
The Catholic mass here is Novis Ordo mass from Vatican II where the priest faces the crowd instead of the reverse. The Catholic Traditional Latin Mass the other liturgical form of the mass is the Orthodox version which marries up to what u are seeing here by our Orthodox brothers and sisters.
I've watched a couple Catholic vs Orthodox comparisons that you've posted. A possible idea for a future video is the comparison about how the Creed is chanted. To my knowledge, none of your videos have covered that thus far.
Mass in the „Ordinary Form“ is absolutely a detriment. The „Spirit of Vatican II“ has served only as a detriment to the Catholic Church. Meanwhile, the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (aka the Latin Mass) remains dignified and very close to the Divine Liturgy. I considered Orthodoxy for a time yet cannot betray the Church in which I was confirmed and swore before God Himself that I would remain steadfast and loyal to. Instead, I attend the Latin Mass as it is far more valid than the Ordinary Form could ever be. I would like to add though that this is not how all Masses in the Ordinary Form are. There are many parishes that hold far more true to original practices.

Christian Orthodox is beautiful.
Beautiful Orthodox Mass, as a Muslim. ☦️🤲🏽☪️
Apostolic church is the ortodox the most beautiful..i am ortodox♥️ Glory to the lord...Glory to God
I am Agnostic, and I even feel the Catholic Church is dead to me. Orthodoxy is a beautiful faith.
Liberal fun center vs. Apostolic Worship
Latins...I'll never understand how you could abandon such a pious reverent liturgy for this village-people-like music masses
The Roman church is like a 50 yo father who wants to be cool and modern
Tártaro 2085 Definitely cringeworthy. This crap is why I left Protestantism.
Feeling like crying !!! even in the "Parkinson's disease", Patriach still struggles to perform the liturgy piously !!!!
I only saw the Beauty of Orthodoxy.
I'm catholic and I'm always in love with Orthodox liturgy! so close to the ancient christianity.
May God forgive them that hate us and them that love us. -Liturgy of St. Basil
Seriously, indigenous music in church??
+Harbinger 2321
i was formerly protestant for 28+ years and now a catechumen (someone preparing for Holy Baptism) in the Eastern Orthodox Church. this is my 4th year learning about Eastern Orthodoxy and each year i had to learn to cut away more and more of the errors i picked up in my many years as a protestant. it is a humbling process but it is the _only_ way to acquire the mind of the Church. for a roman catholic, the process can be even more challenging because of the tendency to see superficial similarities when in fact the two are very different faiths.
the demonic 'charismatic' movement which has been embraced by west today (both protestantism and papism) is a result of the heretic 'filioque' which has abstracted the _hypostasis_ of the Holy Spirit into an impersonal thing.
briefly, in today's christendom, there are three very different models and two different frameworks.
read any apologetics on the papacy or protestantism (sola scriptura) and you will see they are filled with the word 'authority'. this word is seldom used in Eastern Orthodoxy and if you encounter it at all, it has a very different meaning.
WESTERN FRAMEWORK (_authority model_)
> Protestantism - Bible as authority _over_ the church
> Papism - Pope as authority _over_ the church
_contrasted with_
EASTERN FRAMEWORK (_tradition model_)
> Eastern Orthodoxy - Holy Tradition as the Living Witness of the Holy Spirit indwelling _within_ the Church
The only Head of the Orthodox Church is the Lord Himself.

+Orthodox Church I hope to join the Ark soon, please keep me in your prayers! Already subbed!
Yes! True orthodox church! Stop praying Mary catholics!
"Understandable, but sad, that this would be described as Roman liturgy -- when it is not."
Sadly, it is the true Roman Catholic Mass, ever since Vatican II.
This video should be titled, “Winner: Orthodox Church”
Beauty, philokalia
God protect all Orthodox.
God bless all Orthodox.
Greetings from Syriac Orthodox from Holland.
Thank God im ORTHODOX!!!!
I’m Catholic but I would like to become an Orthodox Christian.
Bring back the latin mass.
Bratha Adi do u think the cardinals are watching this video? And the Pope?
Bratha Adi Rome is dead. Come to the Orthodox Church.
Seeing this, I feel ashamed of the Roman Catholic Church. My God, I hope she goes back to how she was before 😢
As you see, the Catholic practice is now like the idolaters of old.Only the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Orthodox church is the True church .
there truly is no comparison between the holy orthodox church and the schismatic Latins
I'm a traditional catholic. I love orthodox church and I know that our rite (especial with Pope Francis) is in danger.
Is it really catholic church?? It looks like baptist or protestant. I am shocked. And no woman covers her head. 👎Hm. I am confused 😖
There is a difference between Christian and Baptist /non-denominational
Despues del Concilio Vaticano II la misa cambio para propiciar una mayor cercania con los protestantes. Por eso la ves tan parecida a una misa protestante. Suerte tienes de que los ortodoxos no tengais que sufrir estas herejias.
Yes, this is the sad result of modernism.
Please read the Word of God using the Spirit of wisdom and ask for His revelation, brother (Ephesians 1:17) read with the context, not every christian woman have to cover their head. It’s based on regional tradition🙌🏻 Jesus bless us and have a great day
@Temesgen Abraha , traditional custom during mass.
The last couple years I have felt a pull towards orthodoxy and there are three words why, "second vatican council"
God bless all,
Dr. G.
I wonder if Pope Francis at these times thinks he actually walks in the steps of the powerful and mighty popes of the past.
I am orthodox Orthodox liturgies to be something exciting this is all logi respect and spiritual face of the circus that is the Catholic church please reply I want to talk with you
Stefan Cazacu Hello, I haven't checked here in a while. So what's on you mind?
well look I thought I'd discuss it with someone please tell me how is religion orthodox
+Ken Bilek You are ortodox?
Orthodox priest has respect for bible and Christ but pope thinks he IS the vicar of Christ and does not kiss the bible like the orthodox priest. "Come receive the light that never is overtaken by darkess and praise Christ who resurrected from the dead!"
Erzebet Bathory yes ortodox is pure and divine , you are ortodox
+Erzebet Bathory: Catholic priests kiss the Bible after reading the Gospel.
There is a reason why I self identify as a Latin Rite Catholic and not as a Roman Catholic anymore.
Catholic looks charismatic Orthodox is for real
PRAY FOR US PRAY FOR THE WEST PRAY FOR THE POPE
Seeing this makes me realiz that a unification of both chuches is almost imposible...and unncessary...
It’s not fair! The Orthodox have beauty and sanctity on their side, while we Catholics are stuck with BERGOGLIO, the Confounded!
Ipse Dixit Begome Ordodox.
Most of the music used in Novus Ordo Masses is forbidden for use at Mass.
...and everyone is supposed to kneel after the Lamb of God.
Abu Qurrah Well, Protestants and Catholics are related.
Orthodox worship is from heaven, it heals and saves you. This other form is something different.
As a Catholic myself, the Traditional Latin Rite mass is the closest to Orthodox liturgy (in my opinion). Peace be with our Orthodox brothers!
Is there a name for the song when the patriarch of Tbilisi enters the cathedral it is absolutely transcendently beautiful
The RCC has gone Southern Baptist. Same thing has happened to the Lutherans, Episcopalians, etc. I say this out of sadness, not some sort of misplaced triumphalism.
Roman Catholic Protestants? Even if this is bias, you won't find these heresies in the Orthodox church... sad
What I see in Orthodox Churches (in Germany) be it Russian, Greek, or Aramean, some attendants don't take it seriously, especially younger people and men and women wearing inappropriate clothes (shorts, cleavage, short skirts, tons of makeup etc.)
Is it better in Orthodox countries?
You wouldn't say a dance party at Limelight in New York is Catholic just because the building is Neogothic... In like manner, you can use candlesticks, some robes, a few clerical collars, and a glorious building in Rome for your party with balloons and electric guitars, and it doesn't mean it's Catholic either.
I pray, God blesses us all.
Kirill has a beautiful voice. The last segment was quite moving.
It would be good if it also had Mount Athos exceptional chanting included in this video
17:34 - catholic worship sounds like Disney cartoon :-)
Ortodoxy is beutiful .
*Nice! … Thank you for sharing :)*
Psalm 150:1-6 "1Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his
mighty heavens. 2Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing
greatness. 3Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp
and lyre, 4praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,
5praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 *Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD."*
If the mass is in Moscow, is it Church Slavonic that is being used? What other
languages besides Church (old) Slavonic and Koine Greek are used in Eastern
Orthodox liturgies?
The R.C.C. Mass[a] shown at the beginning of the video (filmed at a Mass where
the participants speak Spanish, not sure of the occasion) and the Consecration
of the Eucharist[b] (eucharist = "to give thanks") is a variation of the Mass called
the " *Novus Ordo* " (New Order) Rite (1962) It was incorporated during the
Vatican 2 Council/Synod (1962--1965). Although the taking of Communion in
the hand and facing the people were used in the very early days of the Christian
church. RCC use an unleavened communion "wafer" that is taken separately
from the wine/blood of Christ (or in some cases dipped in the precious blood)
The Catholic church also uses the:
1.) *Ambrosian* (aka: "Milanese") *Rite* (4th century … i.e. the 300's AD)
……. The Ambrosian (named after St. Ambrose) rite is still used in northern Italy.
2.) *Byzantine* ("Greek") *Rite* (4th Century, Constantinople)
…… The Byzantine/Greek rite is still used widely
3.) *Tridentine* ("Latin") *Rite* (1570, The "Roman rite" - replaced many local rites)
….. The Tridentine/Latin rite is gaining in popularity in "Traditional" Catholic circles.
3.) *Mozarabic* (aka: "Visigothic"/"Hispanic") *Rite* (6th century Spain)
……. The Mozarabic rite is still used in Toledo Spain
a. "Mass" = Divine Liturgy
I hope all Catholic(orthodox)shall united again!
Razamaniac good!
randolfdan lumanas :)
You know it's bad when I, as a Lutheran, is more high-church than the Catholic Church.
God bless!
the Orthodox-Liturgy looks divine,the Catholic-Liturgy like circus.
Sad but true, but this is a terrible example of Catholic Liturgy
Post vatican II liturgy absolutely embarrassing
Protestants:good good. Roman catholics are finally catching up...
Orthdox: oh no...Awww. T_T
2:17 8:23 12:12 19:28 beautiful
R.i.p Catholic church
Слава Боже! Слава РПЦ!
+oclonenovela In ACROD it is chanted. There's a video in Portuguese on UA-cam.
Correction: The Russians have a tradition of chanting The Creed.
If you want to understand The Nicene Creed vs. the RCC version, study the Filioque and how the iota changed the entire Trinity. The West got it wrong.
