The Day After Tomorrow is a fantastic disaster movie that hand waves a lot of science away bc it's more focused on telling a story about human resilience in the face of catastrophe.

Still there's not clean water everywhere and we rely mostly on natural sources and reservoires. Using salt water, getting water from air etc. is extremely slow, expensive and complicated, that's why some scientists believe that there could be water shortages in like 30 years, although all the technology we have.
Man I love this movie so much, I remember watching it in one of the channels that are part of the HBO network as soon as it premiered in my country and it honestly was refreshing, with good pacing, consistent story with a good twist. I think about this movie often. Can't properly express how much I like these small production movies. Many of these movies are some of the best movies I've watched in my life.

The son could have easily proven the boyfriend is the criminal from the footage found on the robot horse, yet chooses to not only not show anyone but also erase the footage of him killing the boyfriend. He could've easily killed the boyfriend and proved he killed the dad. This move makes no sense.
