    Definitely the Phantom. The fact that the other one can't be picked up and lacks regen brake is a complete deal breaker for me. The Phantom is a perfect blend of portability and power. I would not choose the Pro over the Phantom simply because it can go slightly faster, around 6-7 km/h, and has a slightly larger battery. The trade-off is too much for me.

      @DC it's funny that once you have figured out which style is best for you how just gravitate towards it. Jamie loves the Pro and I love the Phantom...the regen on the Phantom and City are amazing...so much more smooth :)

    I’d choose the phantom. I’ve actually rode and owned both in the past. Both aren’t that good for the sidewalk. Both aren’t super portable compared to others, but they both go pretty fast and have a really good range. Both built really solid and have cool features.

      I’m torn between the latest Phantom and Eagle One V2. They seem practically identical on paper. Which one would you choose??
      I’d really like to hear from someone like you who has experience dealing with both companies and their respective scooters.
      Reliability, ease of maintenance, and good customer support with available and timely delivery of spare parts are things important to me.

    i got my phantom V3 last week and WOW !!! Holey cow what a machine... I live in a small town and people cant seem to understand how i can follow/pass traffic on a e-sccoter lol.. But yeah the phantom is amazing! The regen breaks are all i use for stopping power and as for top speed i hit 68km/h on the flat. Amazing scooter!

      Yeah I really wish they had gone tubeless on the Phantom. I saw that another scooter company has come up with a tubeless split rim that works because of an o-ring to create the seal. Hopefully this is the future of all scooters as then you get the easy tire change of a split rim and the more flat resistant tubeless tires. It's not a deal breaker for me though, just a nice convenience.

    I just bought a Phantom, so we'll see how it goes. I chose the Phantom because I use my scooter in place of a 2nd vehicle. Apollo has great build quality, and the lighter scooter means that (while not ideal) I can more easily carry it up the stairs at work. I've been using an Apollo Ghost for a while now, and absolutely love it. I see this as a great minor upgrade, especially with the dedicated regen brakes. I can't stress enough how excited I am about that feature. It's not hard to change brake pads, but the fact that I won't have to, and I'll get a bit of extra range to boot is a total win in my book. I'm not a speed demon, I tend to ride in the 25-30mph range as I worry too much about potholes or something throwing me off at faster speeds. A helmet can only do so much. So the tiny bit of extra speed on the Varla doesn't really speak to me.

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  Рік тому +1

      Awesome to hear your thoughts @bryant7191, I think you're going to love the regen....I really think it makes the experience that much better...I really can't remember the last time I used my brakes on either the Phantom or City Pro...they're so smooth :) You might pick up a pair of wrist guards...could be really helpful if you come off...I bought a pair for my wife and they're comfy and have the added protection of the palms being protected too :)

    no one seems to be asking this question but how many miles does the motor last when you need to replace the motor or starts giving you problems??

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  Рік тому

      Awesome @yasserblanquet, I think it's a terrific question and one that needs to be asked of all the scooter companies...I suppose time will tell :)

    • @BruceWayne15325
      @BruceWayne15325 Рік тому

      While I can't answer this specifically I can say that it's probably not likely to be an issue. It's more likely that your battery will degrade and require replacement (which usually means a new scooter) long before the motors give out. The Phantom has brushless motors, and while I'm not sure I believe the Varla does as well, so I don't see either of those being an issue.

      I bought a really abused ( not Knowingly ) Apollo Ghost with 3600 kilometers on it . The man said it was in very good condition , I drove 1.5 hrs to get to him , only to find out that the front tire was bald and flat and infact the scooter was being ridden that way . The front stem had a huge wobble , bought it for way less that originally quoted by the man . Came home to find out the rotors were bent as well along with brake pads being completly shot . Tried to take off the rotors , but found out the 6 screws holding the rotors were all drilled out , so I could not use the allen keys to take out those screws . I almost gave up and wanted to throw away the scooter . The only reason I kept on putting the effort was because the motors still sounded and pulled the scooter as if they were still new ( lots of life still left in the motors ). Lets say after putting in some intense efforts and replacing the damaged components at the cost of another $ 145 over the price of $325 that I paid for the scooter , I have something that could potentially sell for $ 1000 , and all because of the motors , because I didn't want to throw away the scooter with such good motors.

    Wow. I gotta say that I can't believe u think the light is better on the Pro. First it's on the ground which is horrible placement and second, the Phantom has a 1000 lumen bright as he'll light placed perfectly on the scooter.

    I have the phantom and i love the regen brake. It also is just able to fit into my trunk (and a few other useful places by a hair) which means the varla almost certainly wouldn't fit and those two items alone are probably deal breakers. Phantom also has plenty of power, but of course I'd never say no to more range. I wonder how the throttle is on the varla? I never see it mentioned in reviews, but the phantom has a very nice, smooth throttle as well. The phantom does need proper hydraulic supension though. That would be a massive improvement and a big plus for the varla.

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  Рік тому

      Awesome questions @happydappyman, fitting into a trunk is a big deal for some...the regen is amazing...do watch the recent video with Jamie :) The throttle on the Varla is smooth :) Interesting on the suspension, hydraulic or not...I honestly need to check into this more :)
