Just use pure white curtains, they are much better because it reflects 80 to 90% of sunlight to keep the temperature down inside and there’s no need to put it outside. And keep in mind that you wouldn’t want the colour of your curtain to be any other colour besides white because it would absorb more sunlight and it will make things warmer instead so that is why you need it to be all pure white instead.
Mylar (space blanket) is far more effective. You can tell how good a material is by placing an ice cube and the material in your hand. If it feels cold, its a bad insulator.
Wipe your window with a sponge(water+soap), clean it off, spray windex on window or tin foil, apply it! Simple, mine have been up for about 2 years now🤷♂️
Works great ehen u dont have refecticts n double your curtisnd to keep any remainder out. Worked for me when i had nothing else. I have black out curtains in my bedroom but white on outside liek the girl sad but i can srill feel the heat. Added this and bam. So much micer. Warning tho can brea your seals in your window's but mine already are so i dgaf whe that heat hits so bad. I got too heat n got sick in ny own apt n i had 2 acs running
It works until you wanna take them off after a while, the window will be coated with white substance presumably some oxides created with the presence of water and sunlight.
thanks for saying that, I was wondering if it would leave some type of weird residue and then I'd have to try to scrape/clean that mess off. it does seem to help, but maybe stapling/gluing it to cardboard would be better?
@@zeztox the worker that installed my new windows said that tin foil it will break my windows 100% , they are brand new , as to why i trust what he said is because he has 40 or so years of experience in that field. If you put the aluminum foil on the outside, it’s even more efficient. The glass won’t be heated. You would need to tape it down though.
I could never do that where i live, magpies would fly into my window and then steal it 😂

Thank you so much for that great tip. I live in the desert and the sun bakes the windows and I do not have A.C.
I use my foil for my tin foil hat top keep gamma rays away and the voices out.😊
Use it with cardboard box. It will increase the R-value and insulate your house better.
I have 5 long windows just in our living room and about to put foil, shiny side facing outside bc this Texas heat is ridiculous.

Im literally doing this to my whole house right now
Did it work 4 days later
@@euphoriabenson4846 yes actually it made the house a lot cooler im kinda surprised
@@evacantu5367
Just curious, did you do an interior or exterior application???
@@evacantu5367Did you put the foil on the inside of your house or the outside? I just did it on the inside and the window is hot.
@@calvinm1866 i put it on both sides depending where the sun usually hits
I do this for my RV in 110+ Arizona summers. Helps a lot.
It won't stay. The moisture evaporates and it begins to fall off.
Use vegetable oil, never come off.
@@graham8149use vegetable oil if you wanna fry the glass
Tape it after sticking
it is because actually uv light is a radiation which bring the heat, while aluminium foil block uv light then no heat is transfered
Ya it reflects it
you can easily use foil blanket and just tape it
temps for before and after would be cool
Temps…
Before - HOT AS HELL!!!
After - HOT but not as hot!!!
😂😂😂
But when you’re up over a 100°F even a few degrees will make a very big difference.
It’s a night and day difference.

Or cardboard as well ❤
Does it matter which side of the aluminum foil is facing in
Shiny side is far more reflective so will prevent sunlight/heat better.

I'm Gonna do this
Once water got dried?
Use liquid starch instead of water and put the aluminum on the outside.
I’m sure your neighbors and the motorists appreciate the glare.😂
Well too bad. I'm not going to pay 200 a month because I have to keep the AC going 24 hours a day.
Don’t know can’t see them.
i melted my plastic windows once by doing that ;)
Thanks ❤ we will do it
I just did my window in my room it took two rolls of tin foil
Just dont use it permanently for blackouts, it will crack the window because of the heat.
I've had in on the inside for years on multiple windows, and its just fine. Maybe if you have very low quality windows that may happen.

I tried, the window glass became so hot like double the temperature before n after. It may crack..
Put what if you have plastic windows? Then you should be good right?

I’m stupid I put them on the outside and using tape
That’s better cuz the window don’t heat up.
or get a curtain
jessie the heats inside your hot im doing this at my house did atrial piece n pleased
Thank you 🙏
