Do you need to get ungated to sell? I hear some people saying that they cannot sell something because they are gated. What does this mean?
For some brands, they do not allow you to sell their products without their permission. You would need to get ungated by purchasing their items directly from a distributor. For some games you do not need to get ungated but for others you do

Should I enter a listing where there is only one seller? I want to buy new games and resell them on amazon but I found a listing where there is a seller or Amazon itself. What to do? Oh! I still need to send an invoice to ungate...
Depends on who the seller is. If the seller is the company that sells the game or amazon I would advise against it if there’s only one seller. If there’s like 3 or more sellers than you should be good if one of them is amazon. When you see the actual seller themselves selling something it’s possible you can still get a cease letter from the brand so it’s up to you whether to risk it or not

Thanks man! And it really depends man. I love to sell GameCube, Wii, and DS like the Mario’s, Zelda’s, Pokémons etc but you can’t sell that on Amazon until you get ungated. I personally sell these games on eBay. When it comes to Amazon, I just scan everything. Sometimes Walmart has clearance on brand new games which you can send it to Amazon. Most sports titles aren’t worth it, but you’ll learn as you go. Wii sports, NCAA 14, NBA 2K18 Xbox 360, are just some examples of sports titles with decent resale value. Just scan any games you find and make sure the ranking is under 50,000 so it’ll sell somewhat fast. PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3 do well on Amazon. Really old stuff just sell on eBay

@@Fred-eq9bl oh nice. And yeah I would say 20,000 or less sells within a few weeks if priced right just depends on condition and value. But general rule of thumb for video games is 50,000 or less. And no but I wish I was ungated in DVD’s. I kid you not I have 5 full boxes full of brand new sealed DVD’s to send into Amazon once I get ungated

How can you get ungated to sell Playstation products? I got approved by Amazon to sell PlayStation products, but now Sony is asking that you fill a form in order to apply to sell PlayStation products on Amazon. I filled the form 3 times but still haven’t got any answer… :/
To my knowledge Alliance Entertainment is the place to get ungated in those products. But it’s difficult because they require you to have certain reseller certificates and have an official LLC, Partnership, or Corporation. In addition the minimum purchase order is $1000
Some states apparently require more documentation that others to sell certain gaming products. I'd be curious to know if you fall into that category of some 10 states

I'm curious to know, does it cost a lot to ship inventory to the Amazon warehouse? Does Amazon give a discounted shipping rate? Have you ever shipped single items like consoles?
Amazon’s rates with UPS are RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP!!! I don’t ever send out one item at a time. Always multiple in bigger shipments to save money. I usually spend like $5 for a full uhaul box of video games. So if you were to send out consoles it would probably be like $10-15 for like 30-40LBS
In order to sell on Amazon is there a membership fee ?
Once everything you showed on video and inventory gets sent out to Amazon, how long before you see your money?

Appreciate the video for 2022! I'm a small seller on ebay that normally sells off doubles of games. However I would like to try out amazon as a venue for selling. For my first shipment to amazon for selling. How many games would you recommend sending to try out their service? I'm new to selling on amazon but see the benefits of selling items on amazon with prime shipping
Maybe try 10-20 games just to start out with with. This way you can learn how to ship your items and price them and mess around with the Amazon seller app/website. As long as everything fits into one box that’s the way to go. When you ship more then one box at a time it’s difficult because then you have to deal with uploading excel spreadsheets which is why I recommend 1 box and everything fitting in that one box. Just keep gradually increasing the amount you send to Amazon

I've heard of people in Canada sending their inventory to the States to sell to American customers, but I'd prefer to sell to Canadian Customers and not deal with the hassle of shipping/returns and USPS. Any thoughts on this?
@@Tw1tchNES you’re welcome! And no unfortunately I don’t have any connections to Canadian sellers. I know “Common Lad” on UA-cam is from Canada and sells on eBay but not sure if he does Amazon. Maybe you could reach out to him and ask him since he might know more. And I’m pretty sure I sell to Canada, USA and Mexico and have no problem with returns and stuff. I think Amazon handles it pretty well and USPS is hardly ever involved. It’s usually UPS and Amazon Prime which I have nothing but good things to say about in regard to selling and shipping stuff into Amazon FBA

I did have a question regarding amazon FBA, when adding making the listing/ adding your games how do you add photos? Sometimes when I goto purchase a ps2 game through amazon and it's fulfilled by amazon the seller/lister has added 1-3 photos of the condition of the game. Is that still possible using this method? Also any tips for just starting out to get feedback on amazon so buyers trust and see that you have feedback?

And I think you get the option to add photos when you press on more attributes if it doesn’t already show up when you change the condition to used. And even though you can add photos I wouldn’t because Amazon’s quality needs to be super high. I tried to upload my own photos once and it wasn’t up to their standards and my listing got “suppressed” or basically inactive
Hi great video so l trying to sell Activision games but l need to be ungated they said that l need yo buy a least one game from the brand so buy l don't know if l can just go to a GameStop store and buy a used game and send the invoice to amazon ?
Thank you! And no it’s not just one game from the brand. Amazon wants at least a quantity of 10 of the SAME ITEM! Also GameStop invoices will not be sufficient as they are not a distributor. You might be able to use Alliance Entertainment but they are very expensive, and I’m not sure if they have activision games. I don’t think I’m ungated in them either unless I got auto - approved

Ok but when do you get paid or how does it work? When you give it to Amazon do you have to wait for it to sell and then the money goes to you ? What if you get a return? How do you get your item back if you gave it to Amazon
You get paid like a month later after an item sells. Basically amazon keeps track of your sales and the discourses them every couple of weeks. It takes a while for funds to become available though. And if you get a return it goes directly back to Amazon if it’s in the same condition. If it is damaged it will be sent back to you. For returns it will come directly out of your account balance

How did you get fully ungated in PlayStation since Amazon now requires sellers to have approval directly from Sony? I have already been approved by submitting invoices to Amazon, but still am gated. I’m not ungated in all Playstation products. Unfortunately people who even have purchase orders are still getting blocked by Sony. I think that Phoenix Resale mentioned in a video that he’s not eligible to sell some SONY products taht he used to sell. And as for buy box it’s all dependent on how many sellers are on the listing, price, price based on condition, and your account health. Not sure exactly what determines it but I always try to compare my price and match it or lower it to the current buy box price. I also feel like it also helps if you have multi quantity listings and have already sold multiple copies of something

Not all games are restricted in the video game category. I sell what I am approved in on Amazon and then sell the rest on eBay

Depends on the game and rank it on Amazon. Sold my first game within a couple days of it hitting the Amazon warehouse. Now if you’re talking about eBay, I can list games and sell it within an hour! Popular titles at the right price sell super fast! Just posted a new video if you wanna check it out! Talk about how I sold a certain item super fast and sold some games in the video as well!

Price based on condition. Better condition = more money. Also, other sellers sometimes have bots on their listings which automatically lowers the prices for them so just keep checking on your prices to make sure you have the lowest
Literally every game I try to sell says I need approval. For example. Mario Slugger, Mario Party 8. Arc of Lad for PS2(new). Do you have to have FBA to sell games?
I just checked my own Amazon account and I’m restricted in the Mario stuff as well. The arc of lad game I’m restricted in some. Like I’m able to sell end of darkness but twilight of the spirits I’m restricted in selling it new. Just sell it on eBay though because the rank is kind of high for Amazon. I just sell whatever I am not approved in on eBay

The used games, do you seal, or glue tape on box or do you send open ?
I don’t tape or glue anything lol. I just close the video game case that they are in and it’s fine. Just make sure you put bubble wrap/packing paper in the box you’re sending out to make sure nothing breaks

Each video game is individually approved like books. There’s a good amount you can sell without getting ungated. What works for me is to just sell whatever I’m not approved in on eBay
Hey bud any paticuluar game system games i should focus on. All of them or wii , sega, ps3 ps4, xbox ect . what are you having the best luck with flipping on amazon for video games.
Nintendo products sell pretty well, but the issue is that I am restricted from selling them so if I am I just list them on eBay. So I would go with Playstation or Xbox as having the lost approval to sell stuff. It really depends though as to who makes the games (ex:EA) because you might be blocked from selling certain products. You just gotta scan and learn what you can sell vs not sell because everything is worth a shot as long as it has a good rank in video games. 50,000 or less. Anything 20,000 or less would be even more efficient

Depends on the game. You just need to scan it with the Amazon seller app and see if you have approval. There are individual companies that make games such as Activision, EA, etc who might block you so it’s not just about which console it is on

If you are asking about shipping price in regard to sending your stuff into Amazon in a big shipment I usually estimate 50 cents per item. Could be lower or higher and it depends on show many items are in your shipment. Its always better to send in as much as possible because it lowers the cost significantly. Its very cheap to send stuff in and you accept the charges as soon as you get the rate for the shipment
@@forwardflips sorry I didn't explain very well. When you list the item do you list it with free shipping? So when its sold for example do Amazon take a % off your profit towards Posting it out to the buyer?
No worries. My Amazon does not ask for shipping price when listing. I put in the SKU, Your price, condition, and I add a condition note in the more attributes section of the listing. Hope this helps!

Where do you actually get games to resell them?
A lot of different places. Garage sales, thrift stores, discount/liquidation stores
What is considered new? Does it have to be sealed or just the case and manual
Brand new sealed. Case and manual is considered complete. If it’s still “new” but open then it is like new. Anything with case and manual is considered very good as long as it’s actually in good condition
Wait I’m confused, so do U send the games to Amazon before they are even sold to the buyers? And from there they sell them at your price and then u get the money?
Yes that’s what Amazon FBA is. You list the games online and send it to their warehouse. Once someone buys the game from Amazon, Amazon will ship it out themselves as if it were Amazon Prime. You can choose to send it directly through Amazon FBM (fulfilled by merchant or merchant fulfilled) but it has a lot more requirements that you need to meet. Like you have to ship within 24 hours, items sell for less money then FBA and it’s a lot easier to get your account dinged. FBA is easier because you send everything out in one shipment, Amazon STORES your inventory, and they package it out when they sell it.
What brands of video games are restricted on Amazon? I haven't started, but am interested. However, I don't want to lose the ability to sell on Amazon by trying to sell restricted games. Do you have a list or a link to a list?

I say eBay just in case you aren’t approved you can still make money. Once you get approved to sell on Amazon, you can scan each game that is profitable on eBay that you saved and it will tell you if you are approved or not. The more that you scan through games, the more you will learn about which ones you can sell. Don’t be scared as it’s all a learning curve. You won’t get banned because if you are not eligible to sell a certain product they will not even let you list it.”

I got auto ungated in some categories. Best thing you can do is become a reputable Amazon seller by selling in other categories like books first. After a while you start getting auto ungated in some categories. But even for myself I’m not ungated in all video games. It’s complicated to get fully ungated so the best way is to sell whatever you’re not approved in on eBay

You don’t have to get ungated in a good amount of video games on Amazon. Usually Nintendo stuff is mostly blocked and then certain companies that make the games within Playstation / Xbox. If you do want to get ungated in more categories you can use Alliance Entertainment
do you poly bag your games when shipping them out?
No because I ship them directly to amazon. I just put everything into a big box and send it to their warehouse. I add bubble wrap and packing paper as needed to ensure nothing breaks
If I sell a game on eBay then I will use a dvd bubble mailer of if I run out then I’ll use bubble wrap and put it in a poly bag

I was automatically approved to sell. Are you restricted? What happens id you try to auto ungate? Depends on the console and minecraft game too. Sometimes one might be gated but the other will not

I honestly don’t know. I haven’t sold digital games on Amazon or even eBay before. If you have the Amazon seller app set up just look for the specific digital game and see if it pops up. I have a feeling it might be restricted though for regular sellers because I looked it up and couldn’t find it

I never had to deal with cost price before until recently, but I’m pretty sure it’s just asking you to put how much you paid for it. That’s what I’m going to do from now on (if it pops up because it doesn’t pop up all the time)
@@momzilla630 I source inventory from a variety of places. I source at thrift stores, pawn shops, garage sales, flea markets and online like Facebook marketplace. Sometimes even friends or family. And as for profit I always shoot to double my money. So if I pay $5 I’m happy with making $10 back after fees. As you get to know Amazon more and sales ranking you’ll see how fast certain games sell and then you can increase what you want to make from a game or decrease. But a good rule is to double up and try to make at least $5 profit so it’s worth your time. Also make sure the rank is 1-50,000 which will help with items selling quicker
@@momzilla630 sometimes you find games that are worth a lot of money and sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you also aren’t approved to sell certain games like some Nintendo stuff so make sure you have eBay as well and on higher dollar games always compare eBay with Amazon because if they are about the same (Amazon is usually higher, but if it’s the rare case where it’s almost the same, go with eBay because you get paid a lot faster and it’s in your control you just need a poly mailer and print out a label)
How are you able to sell these video games as New not as Used?
Because they were new. The only game that wasn’t new was the madden game

Okay and for the games thay go for used willnthen be sold as used then. That makes sense I just starting out and think ill start buying a few at a local gamestop. Your video helps alot
@@tammy9506 yeah used is used and new is new! You just need to filter out which used condition it’s in (acceptable, good, very good, like new) as I mentioned in the video. And as for sourcing at GameStop that’s probably not going to be your best bet because they tend to be really overpriced. I recommend flea markets, garage sales, and thrifting

So you never take pictures of your games/consoles/anything else you list? If you don’t, do you think it hurts your sales compared to other people that sell with pics? That’s what takes me the longest on eBay, taking pictures. If I can bypass that, I could do much more and faster.
Nope I never take pictures on Amazon. Amazon has built in custom stock photos with a white background. You just need to choose the condition of the game and describe any flaws with the game case, artwork etc. It’s always good to clean the game case with a wet wipe or something similar to ensure quality/cleanliness when shipping. And on Amazon you can always return things for many reasons so just put that they can return for a full refund (because they can anyway). What I like to do, is sell my better condition items on Amazon and something that needs photos I put on eBay. Amazon is sooooo much faster once you get the hang of it. Takes 20 seconds to list, especially with a copied and pasted description. Hope this helps!
I've had a seller account for about half a year now, just been selling used books so far and it's been going fairly well overall but got curious about branching out and started looking into this. Have you always just listed games that show you have approval to do so in the app? Have you ever run into any IP complaints doing this? I have a few games it looks like I'm approved to sell, just don't want to jeopardize my account somehow. I know to look out for if there are multiple sellers on listings and things like that, but I've never sent in any invoices or anything to get formally ungated in anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
As long as you have approval to sell, then you should be good! I have had 0 IP complaints selling used and new games on Amazon. Just keep doing what you’re doing with looking out for multiple sellers on a listing, and if you can get around the same price on EBay, then stick with eBay. I’ve had invoices but not for the video games category so you should be good

You can sell a decent amount of games without approval. To get approval you need to place an order with an authorized distributor such as Alliance Entertainment
