Hmm I don't mind any of the the voices the other is slightly louder. This voice seems slightly quieter than the other one.

The OP is delusionaly dense. Hailey absolutely did that on purpose, it's what you do to ruin a dress. Hailey was absolutely coming on to him before, and he's a fool for ignoring it.

Op made a mistake. But he's at least doing well now. Let's not shit on the man for not being flawless in judging characters. Some people don't show their true colours until pushed.
I said this the first time it was posted, and it’s still true after the update. OP didn’t take a critical look at the situation between his friend and his wife, he just flipped sides. He went from “Ailie isn’t being malicious toward Eliza, Eliza is just misinterpreting the jokes” to “Ailie *is* being malicious toward Eliza, and Eliza has never done anything wrong toward Ailie” overnight. I think the truth is in the middle, that Eliza was likely jealous of Ailie and was colder toward her, so Ailie was being cold back. When Ailie starts talking about Eliza calling her Garfield as a fat joke is the key part here because OP immediately deflects and denies his wife was being malicious, while that whole conversation was supposed to be about how Ailie’s jokes are intentionally hurtful. Again, it sounds like the two women just didn’t like each other, and OP just picked one side to fully back instead of listen to what either person actually said.
I’ve heard this before, people just want to be justified in hating the Op, while yeah OP made a mistake but who is a perfect judge of character.
Edit: op other mistake was downplaying his wife’s issues. Also communication, the op’s wife never truly tried to confront this problem.
But she did try to but the husband kept playing it off like it was ok what she was doing ok
And no I am not trying to start anything most of what you said is true but if I was the wife and my wedding dress got ruined and my husband's friend kept making back hand comments I would be upset to

when you are in a marriage you have to communicate, it’s on both the op and the wife for not communicating. Read any book about having a strong marriage and the first thing you have to do is have an open and clear line of communication. And OP’s wife not being able to talk about the problem she having to op about OP’s friend is the problem. (And it’s not her fault)
What is that problem then it’s not that the wife is unable to communicate it’s that OP’s wife isn’t comfortable of being able to communicate her problems to op without being downplayed, so what she should have done was confront the issue and not conform and let it fester.
Anyway hindsight is 20/20
