Eek! Totally the hardest thing I have ever done. And yes the running back and forth to get the camera was a prominent feature of the whole run 😂 Thank you for sharing this whopping 41 minutes out of your life with me ❤️
Let's all appreciate that Eva actually had to run some parts TWICE to film some of the scenes. I can't imagine setting up the camera, going back a little and then running back up again. Unbelievable strength and willpower! Well done, lady!
Exactly.... its something that I hate doing and looking back its the same thing I regret not doing. I never had a proper document videos that I could look back to... I wish I exert more effort.
I am 73. When I was 21, I bicycled 700 miles in two weeks alone. I did it one goal at a time, one day at a time. When it was done, I realized what I had done. The fortitude and persistence that it took made me reaiize the strength I had within me. I was not an athlete, just an ordinary person. However, by persisting, I accomplished a big feat. That realization has stood me well my entire life. Do something big in your life. Bigger than you think you can. Persist. You will be a stronger person for it.
@@foodiesmess I also earned three college degrees, a BS in Art and Elem. Ed., A Master of Fine Arts in Fine Art Photography, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Business Administration. Each one was a marathon. I had the end goal in mind the entire time, but I concentrated on each assignment, each project, and earning the highest grades. I never took anything for granted, but put myself in the professor's shoes and thought about what they would criticize. When writing papers, I outlined the entire paper first, did the research on each part, put the sections together like chapters in a book, and had a summation and conclusion at the end. I received A's on every one. I am no genius, though I have come to the conclusion that I am smarter than I thought. It took me longer than other kids to lear to read, I always had a problem writing when in HS. and reading comprehension was always difficult. I received average grades. I think I had learning disabilities from being a blue baby at birth, and two concussions as a young child. I learned if I wanted to compete with other kids, I had to work harder. I wanted to attend a four year college and take difficult subjects to prove I was as good as other kids. I think I did that, especially in my passion, fine art photography. I have won first place awards in international competitions, such as the International Photography Awards, had my work exhibitied in London and Paris, and been published in all the most importan publications worldwide. Caring and persistence will get you far. Most people do not have it. My mother said she was amazed at how hard I would try. That is right. I took all the difficult math and science courses in HS, won a NY Regents College Scholarship, which paid full tuition to a state university for four years, and began as a chemistry major, later changing to art to take photography, which occupied all my thoughts. Later, I taught college and HS for 35 years. I told my students that if they want to be an artist, they have to want it so bad they have to taste it, and nothing else can get in the way because the world does not need more artists, so you have to be better than everyone else. Being the best at anything requires exceptional talent, exceptional drive, and exceptional persistence. Sports and Art are very similar. You cannot be a quitter.

I truly appreciate that you don't hide anything, Raw emotion and everything out in the open. It makes you more real, more human than any other youtuber out there. Thank you for being you.
This is a like documentary/film of its own. It's inspiring beyond words. Truly felt the pain, struggles, euphoria, extreme happiness all at once. Eva, you're truly super inspiring and strong. I would be so happy if I could have half of your strength and grit.
Give you so much respect for your courage Eva. I'm 71 yrs young. In my youth I hiked, back packed, and cross country skiied many, many miles. I never attempted anything like this. I just walked! I did do a 7 day back pack on the Pacific Crest Trail from the Columbia River Gorge to Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood, Oregon with a 40lb back pack. Boy, was I sore!! You have become one of my favorite UA-camr blogs. Stay safe Eva.
most of are just surviving, she's actually living her life. and seeing her living her life too the fullest genuinely makes me happy and smile from my heart.
This is only the second of your videos I have watched. Just subbed an hour ago, after watching one video. I am a 58-year-old ex-trail runner. My body is all used up, but this was so inspiring, it makes me want to get back out there. At my peak (in 2011) I would typically run 1/2 marathons with 3500 to 4500 feet of elevation gain. Usually in an hour and a half to 1:45, depending on exact elevation. I took up running at age 42 and 5 years later I was at the top of the X-Terra championship for the 40-49 age group. I had a rapid decline after a back injury. Never regained that level of fitness. But this video has inspired me to drop this 20 lbs I put on, and at least give it one more try. I miss it so much. Thank you for reading this, if you indeed did.
@Aaron Wolfenbarger I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be commenting here. My old granny used to say, it's better to wear out than rust. I've been in pretty good shape all my life including falls and wrecks, but at 70 my back let me know it was tired. It's been three months of pain. Breakfast, lunch and dinner( I sleep well on my side). Some training and a lot of swimming and as Eva said, you body talks to you and you can listen. I am feeling better and I am thankful. So, what do I want to do first? Go hiking again.
One of the problems with a lifetime of exercise is that you wear your body out. After many years of hill running and 3 Ironman triathlons in my late 40`s, I had to give up running. My back and knees just couldn`t go on. ( I always cried at the finish line, huge tears of relief) Luckily, I can still cycle and walk miles quickly. I miss the running but want to warn younger people to make careful choices. Don`t just run. Cycle, kayak, swim, anything to spread the wear and tear. But never stop!
@@HarryFenton6124 Yep. That all sounds right to me. My back injury was from me being 135 lbs at 5' 8" and doing heavy lifting. Not for sport though. It was repeated lifting of things like 94lb concrete bags and roofing my own place, lifting OSB and super-heavy rolls of tar. That type of stuff. Plus lifting small cars from either end and parkour, becuase I was young and I could, lol! When I run, my back feels at its best. But standing in one place for 2 minutes... no way. But running took its toll on my oldish muscles. Tight as a guitar string and stretching doesn't help.
Honestly the storytelling, the videography, the people, the sounds, the views and the willingness to challenge yourself is honestly mindblowing. I've been subscribed and following on other social medias of yours. And this is just amazing
This, by far, is the most inspiring and gut wrenching episode you’ve ever posted. I’m literally crying…. “That was hard. But we can do hard things.” My mantra from now on. Thank you, Eva, for sharing those 5 days with the world. Now, I’m gonna go talk to my legs…
I've just watched this and it made me cry my eyes out especially the end. Since I left Syria I kind of never really processed all the mental and physical challenge it took to do 50 architecture competitions in 1 year and counting on winning some of them to leave and start pursuing my dream. It felt like it will always be a blur and I will never be able to wrap up all the solidarity and mental challenging moments I had until I made it, but watching your unsure moments and how you faced them and the moment where you saw yourself actually succeeding and crying is when I couldn't contain my tears. Thank you Eva, I never thought after watching this journey of yours I would be able to process my emotions and feel truly proud for once

Some months ago a watched this video, and I didn't understand nothing, actually almost nothing, because I was starting to learn English. And this video inspired me. I promised to myself come back one day and understand what she was saying. Now I understood, now I can watch and I'm even more inspired. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm extremely happy about what I've done in this months. Thanks Eva, for help me don't give up. I'll never forget it.
I’ve done 14 Marathons. Nothing compares to watching someone laugh, cry, and every other emotion all at the same time. Especially their first. Favourite video so far but don’t stop over landing. ❤️🇨🇦
Great job Eva! I think the hiker you met was wrong about "judging" your timing. You set a great, realistic, but goal- focused, distance for each day that allowed you to toggle between jogging, hiking, walking and having time for a nice lunch, afternoon cool-down in the water... or some berry eating :) People finish a full marathon in 2.5 to 4 hours. You were dealing with elevation changes, uneven (or even loose) rocky ground and a multi-day course, so allowing the full day for every 26 km made it perfect - and in such beautiful rural areas of Eastern Europe! As a bit of advice, I would strongly recommend you not throw away your maps until your back safely at your home base - besides your water bottle and shoes, your map is your most valuable asset. For the couple of ounces you save tearing off a portion of paper each day it is not worth giving those maps up. In fact I would store those in a sealed plastic bag in my ruck (or military- grade waterproof map case) just to ensure they don't somehow get water damaged and become unusable...in the military we are taught to never give up our map. In you case, what if there were some type of earthquake, or other natural or man-made disaster, were to suddenly occur and you were forced to reverse your course - without access to cell phone or GPS services? ... just food for thought. Looking forward to your next adventure 🏞️ 🐎 🌳
so cool when your body had that break through! you have been such an inspiration to me Eva, I am 70 years old do not fit into society's way of thinking I love to explore everything, right now I am living in the worst situation I have ever been in, but watching your videos gives me much encouragement.
Long, yet if you watch deeply enough, you will admire every second of it -glimpsing into the vastness of human enthusiasm, endurance and resilience. This is one of the very few videos that you don't just watch it, but you could actually FEEL it; this is way more of an emotional adventure than just its physical aspects. Felt it. Loved it. (especially the end!) TY Eva. Always happy to see you smiling, joyful, and more importantly -full of life.
Eva this is astounding! The fact that you accomplished this is the truest testament to your strength both mentally and physically. It was beautiful to watch 🤍
For us it was 40 minutes of living this experience virtually. More like a suspense + entertainment. For you ( eva ) it was an adventure of 120 hours + the practice sessions. I really love that saying/quote - Its Hard, but we/I can do hard things 😍👌😁🔥💯
What a trooper. Eva doesn't seem to know any other way than to square up to life and give it a big bear hug. Inspirational. (He says, sitting on the sofa).
I admire you Eva. I'm 53 and I got the bug when I turned 49, did my first solo "climb" at the Italy/Austria/German area. I failed miserably, and trained for the next 1 year and did 3 full summits on 3 different mountains. You are young and I love watching your videos for further self-encouragement. Enjoy your life.
I have followed your adventures esp in Texas where i am at my age of 73 yrs you are a total inspiration to life its self i have done a lot in my life having no regrets in life is one of the most important elements to living on this planet Rock on young lady your grandfather would be so beyond proud of you for how to live life to its fullest possible last drop no matter where it takes you.
I didn't even notice it's a 41-minute video. I was cheering for you even when I knew the race has been completed days ago. This video reminds me that when you are facing dark moments in your life, sure, there's an option to give up. But there is also an option to rest and give your body the nutrients and rest it needs, and your brain the reminder why we are here in the first place. Thanks Eva.
Your stamina... holy ish. It's intimidating. Two favorite parts, the old couple feeding her honey and water... and the ending when the complete stranger greeted her and cheered her on even though they just met 5 days earlier.
A quote from my favourite books on running, “There’s something so universal about that sensation, the way running unites our two most primal impulses: fear and pleasure. We run when we're scared, we run when we're ecstatic, we run away from our problems and run around for a good time.” Christopher McDougall, Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen
Eva, I'm a runner as well, ever since covid I don't run that much. You have inspired me to start again. I feel the same way as you. When I run it's like meditation to me as well. Thanks, you're such a sweetheart.
Gosh Eva, what can I begin to say? Your emotional and physical toughness is second to none. Add to that you have a insanely kind heart. You were truly at the top of your game, and the top of the world on this one. Each time I watch your videos I say “this is the best one yet,” only for you to break through the ceiling on the next one. Proud of you and love ya!
Dear Eva, thank you so much for sharing this with us. This is one of the most beautiful videos i have ever seen. Those real encounters with the kind people, your emotions, just amazing. God bless you
Probably the best video I've ever seen. This is hard but I can do hard things. Amazing. I've been wondering whether or not to join a run in a couple of months and it's always on my mind. I think I'm going to do it. Thank you and well done!!! Sending lots of good vibes from Spain
So much respect for doing this run. I walked/hiked some passages of the peaks of the Balkans and it was so hard to walk like 25 km. And you ran marathon distance in this hard terrain. Awesome! Loved to see the beautiful landscapes of Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo again. Thanks Eva
it’s so beautiful how you can just see Albanian shepherds and families living in the middle of the mountains without any online connection with a tribal mindset, just like in antiquity and middle ages
No words are enough to appreciate your passion, courage, will power and determination. You are a role model for our young generation. So much to learn from you. Absolutely amazing.
Have a hard time walking, and you traveled 115 miles up and down at a fast pace in days with just a small back pack. Amazing, that must be great Eva, your videos are a wonder for me to see, thanks for sharing them with people like me who no longer can do these things. Have seen you climb an icy mountain in Antarctica, to travels to top of Alaska, mountains in Europe, to Desserts, and remote places. Your videos are wildly beautiful as you are. You let me see the world though your eyes. Thanks so much. It is nice to see so many who value this world, who find adventure and happiness here, I find it to be a prison, some type of illusion, a place to gain wisdom & gnosis, a temporary abode which I must pass through till I go home. Guess both are good in their own way! Yet I wish to thank all of you who share your stories or videos with those who cannot experience these thing themselves. Be blessed
This is very inspiring Eva. I like how you are not afraid to show emotions and reality. You show us real-life experience and not just the fluffy stuff. I hope to be able to do that one day soon.
I am watching this video in my tent under the storm, at the exact guest house you start your run. I don't know if you'll see this but the peaks of the Balkans trail was also a dream of mine, a dream I almost gave up on after a hard day today. Thank you for giving me the strength to keep going 🔥
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." -Litany Against Fear (Dune)
“This is hard, but I can do hard things.” I love this. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and hoping to have an unmedicated birth in December, but I’m doubting my strengths because of how normalized it is to get an epidural. So this mantra of yours is beautiful and inspiring and I will be adopting it in my quest towards an unmedicated birth. Thank you :)
Claire, you can do it! I recommend walking during labour and breathing through the contractions, or pool if you're allowed.( i wasn't). I am rooting for you🤗
My wife had her last two of five naturally at home with a midwife. It was a beautiful and completely different experience than a hospital birth. It isn't for everybody, but she was mentally strong and prepared. Also, just as Eva experienced a range of emotions on her journey, so did my wife on hers. Best wishes to you and your baby for a great experience!
You got this Claire! Mental power comes into play. I had an unmedicated birth at home with a midwife. I prepped loads with breathing practices, digging deep, positive affirmations that my body and baby knew the best way to come out. I’m cheering you on 💕
You can absolutely do it. I had both my babies with no pain medication ( my first had to be induced… which makes contractions more (powerful)painful… but I still did it with zero pain meds) I highly recommend any hypnobirthing meditations (listen to every night before you fall asleep) . My mantra was… MILLIONS of women have experienced and felt childbirth for centuries … I want to EXPERIENCE this ( not mask it) I felt like I could do ANYTHING afterward. Its an empowering experience women should not be deprived of. Go for it!
I really have no words. Don't know what to say. Maybe impossible? Unbelievable? Congratulations? Impressive feat? Very impressive feat at that. Mind boggling? Super endurance? I don't know. But a BIG congratulations in over coming every obstacle you put yourself in. You....are just AWSOME!! Love from an old man who lives in the land below the wind.
Me: “I think I want to do this in the future” *Keeps watching* EVA - “In simple term, that’s basically like climbing Mount Everest, adding another kilometer on top and then descending from the summit to sea levels” ME: 💀👀 yeah um- so- hm-

How can people dislike this video?! This is amazing Eva! I could not imagine experiencing something like this in my life and I'm glad I got to go on this journey with you!
I mean I dont even have words. First you are doing something which is really really tough, and on top of that you are filming it so that all your subs can feel the journey sitting back at their home. Running back and forth and mounting camera. Just cant image how gnarly the whole process would have been. I thank you for making this vlog and really appreciate what you have been doing. ❤️❤️
I am enjoying this after many other videos of yours Eva. This is clearly the most struggle and the most emotional. At 23:00 I had tears in my eyes along with you. I know the runners 'second wind' as we used to call it, but in the activity of cycling, so I know what you felt. It is wonderful you can show all of your emotions through the camera, it is beautiful and we love you more for it.
Jesus, I don't even think I can put into words how inspiring this whole video is. I can only imagine how enjoyable this must be for her, considering I'm in awe just watching it.
Eva, this gift of storytelling and to Inspire with your actions is really something. Challenging yourself, realizing that dream and overcoming it must make you feel so motivated and happy inside. You make me dream! (It all starts with a dream right) And bonus - You always have beautiful inspiring quotes to share as well. I Love it! Waiting for your next one.
Incredible! Also the fact you filmed all this along the journey is insane. Eva congratulations on contouring this challenge, truly amazing and cannot wait to see what else you will come up with!
Congratulations Eva on such an amazing achievement. I remember the elation I felt after completing my first Ultra Marathon of 100km in just over 20 hours across rugged bush land in Australia. There were so many times when I felt like giving up due to the pain and discomfort but I persevered. The accomplishment I felt upon finishing was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever experienced and taught me that I am capable of more. Seeing your highs and lows in this video reminded me of that experience and watching your reaction at the end was such a lovely moment. Eva, you are such an inspiring young woman in a time where we all need to dream again and to push ourselves outside our comfort zones. Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures and I can’t wait to see your Antarctic expedition (I’m very jealous 🙂).
Amazing Eva - this was EPIC in every sense of the word! I laughed, cried and cheered with you on this amazing adventure into nature and what it truly means to be alive. Thank you for being such an inspiration always 🙏 - hope you had that celebratory pizza afterwards!!! 😊xx
I come across you videos awhile back and I watch them every chance I get. I never comment on videos I watch, which is not alot except for yours. I have commented several times now on yours. I'm just so moved or inspired about so many things about you. At times some of your older videos pop up and I watch. It's official, you are the most awesome lady I've ever seen, bar none. I have become such a huge fan of yours. I'm not a easily impressionable person but you excell at every level of being. You have the most beautiful mind, body, courage and spirit. To me, you are the very definition of a great person. Roll on baby girl!!
You did it EVA!!! An amazing feat of endurance and perserverance!!! Thank you for sharing this journey with us. With every mountain you climbed, and the higher you got, you essentially made yourself that much MORE stronger than you were before. Just amazing. I found myself silently urging you on, even though I know this "race" was completed already. You are my hero. ❤️❤️❤️
This video was actually the reason why I decided to go and hike to Peaks of the Balkans Trail as well (in normal hiking pace). First of all, this trail just absolutely blew me away, and second, it made me appreciate all the more how hard it must have been to do it in just five days. It's amazing what the human body can do if you put your mind to it! You are absolutely amazing Eva!
Awh babe! When you started getting emotional at 22:33 I did too! It’s so beautiful to see you using your body to it’s fullest potential and feeling the amazing benefits of it 🌸 Keep enjoying life to its fullest! You are inspiring so many others to do the same xx

While it has been a roller coaster of emotions watching the entire 41 minutes of the video, I can't help but notice one particular detail at 9:15 minutes.. The way Eva counts number 4 effortlessly bending her pinky rather with her thumb had me mind blown! I tried and felt estranged after hahaha!

You got this!! I believe in you man. You went through a lot. You deserve to go back out there and feel free!
@@Jeff-jg7jh don't worry about his snidey comment, that's jaleousy speaking :)
Your face when got to the finish line was probably the truest human emotion I have ever seen. Thank you for making me believe in life again Eva:)
@Silver that's such a truthful comment 💪🤗
Brilliant and touching comment!
Honestly the storytelling, the videography, the people, the sounds, the views and the willingness to challenge yourself is honestly mindblowing. I've been subscribed and following on other social medias of yours. And this is just amazing
This woman truly is bold. She pushes herself and pursues adventures that I would find intimidating (eg, Afghanistan).
Agreed
"This is hard but I can do hard things"! What a superbly charming record of an awesome achievement. Thank you for sharing.
Speechless. You're amazing Eva.
"This is hard but I can do hard things" - Eva 2021
This was crazy for me to watch. I literally had the same idea in 2019. My mantra was, "hiking is the new sleeping!" Loved it, thanks for sharing!
Self-help books? No, you don’t need any of that…you just need to watch Eva and pick up a piece of her crazy (in a good way) joyful energy ❤️
I know right?! Amazing!
As a trail marathon runner, you have my respects. Congrats your power of will is unbelievable. 👏
I can’t imagine filming this by yourself! All the doubling back for the cameras. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Exactly! I would have so much work with my self and giving extra meters to film? OMG!
And caring the drone for flying shots!! Wow!
@@polinafebruary As drone user I can say it's not only drone. You need controller, spare batteries, charger, case, propellers. It's quite a weight addeed
"This is hard but I can do hard things."
I love that words. Congratulations Eva! You're a limitless lady! Take care always, God bless!
That was epic and heroic! Congrats Eva.
Wow. That's a trophy.
Awesome! A great blend of both the fun and wonder of trail running, combined with great story telling. Congrats!
Congratulations!!!
Oo nga
so cool when your body had that break through! you have been such an inspiration to me Eva, I am 70 years old do not fit into society's way of thinking I love to explore everything, right now I am living in the worst situation I have ever been in, but watching your videos gives me much encouragement.
You are not alone I swear. I and so many billions are in the same hellish situation. But NEVER lose faith. We will make it through, somehow🙏😊

Felt it. Loved it. (especially the end!)
TY Eva. Always happy to see you smiling, joyful, and more importantly -full of life.
Eva this is astounding! The fact that you accomplished this is the truest testament to your strength both mentally and physically. It was beautiful to watch 🤍
You’re inspiration for so many souls who’s looking for motivation. God bless you Eva . Love from India 🇮🇳
In some ways she's beyond an ultra runner. she's filming this whole thing by herself and she doesn't have a crew. It's just her. this is amazing
Yes, each one of those takes mean she goes pass that section 3 times.
For us it was 40 minutes of living this experience virtually. More like a suspense + entertainment. For you ( eva ) it was an adventure of 120 hours + the practice sessions. I really love that saying/quote - Its Hard, but we/I can do hard things 😍👌😁🔥💯
Wow Eva.. You are such an amazing woman. I wish i can do it too someday.. You are an inspiration.. KEEP GOING.. TAKE CARE.. LOVE YOU
What a trooper.
We run when we're scared, we run when we're ecstatic, we run away from our problems and run around for a good time.”
Christopher McDougall, Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen
Wow
"I can do hard things" is going to be my new mantra. I'll be using it from now on when my anxiety's getting the best of me! Thank you Eva! ❤️
Eva, I'm a runner as well, ever since covid I don't run that much. You have inspired me to start again. I feel the same way as you. When I run it's like meditation to me as well. Thanks, you're such a sweetheart.
Adventurous people like EVA are so Pure hearted that is visible in her laughter.God bless you dear.
You are so brave..i am proud of U..i enjoy watching ur vlogs...keep it up..GOD Bless U..😂
Sending lots of good vibes from Spain
can we appreciate how far eva has come in terms of EVERYTHING

Be blessed
You are like Lara Croft 🙌🏼 so fearless, brave and full of adventure👏🏼
I sent that to Eva as my mantra
Q
“This is hard, but I can do hard things.” I love this. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and hoping to have an unmedicated birth in December, but I’m doubting my strengths because of how normalized it is to get an epidural. So this mantra of yours is beautiful and inspiring and I will be adopting it in my quest towards an unmedicated birth. Thank you :)
Labour is harder than running though!!!!
Go for it!
Seeing you happy, enjoying the beautiful nature and accomplishing the hardest thing you've done in your life is making me genuinely happy ❤️
I really have no words. Don't know what to say. Maybe impossible? Unbelievable? Congratulations?
Impressive feat? Very impressive feat at that.
Mind boggling? Super endurance?
I don't know. But a BIG congratulations in over coming every obstacle you put yourself in.

I have run one full marathon and over a dozen half marathons.....YOU TRULY ARE AN INSPIRATION!!! So very proud of you! Keep doing what you're doing!

So proud of you Eva!! This one had me crying like a baby and at the same time I was profoundly inspired! Thank you and keep sharing the joy!
