Thanks for watching!
The reason I like this is because of the date function. this is a feature that I use everyday.
Hi Michael, thanks for checking in. It's amazing how split people are on the date window on this watch, seems like it's about 60/40 for.
@Lee and that is why u never work weekends or holidays?

Currently looking at getting this beautiful watch. By far the best review I’ve seen, I’m sold! Perfect on that leather strap
12:55 Exactly why I love me a Tudor. For sub-5K you can get an amazing watch that will last you a lifetime. Yeah 4-5K isn't cheap, but if you consider it as a 20-year investment it makes a lot more sense.
Gorgeous piece and the amount of quality for the money is unmatched in that price range
Zodiac, Yema...at least half of Tudor prices.
I get what you mean with the price, but to say that just shows how we all take the kool aid of the watch industry. Zeppelin, rado, mido, zodiac etc give you the same quallity for a fraction of the price, Im not just saying it, I own this piece and I love it
Didn't think anything of this watch, until you put it on. It is amazing and masculine on your wrist.
You're so right about the pin placement on lugs. Tissot on some of their Chrono pieces that are $400-ish have pin placement in multiple areas. Great observation, and I subscribed.
I liked this Black Bay so much that I bought the Tudor Black Bay Chronograph. Why? It had the same look (fantastic) of the Black Bay Steel, cost just a few hundred more, and it has a chronograph function for crying out loud! Yes, I've heard the critics downplay the BB chrono because the hands can obscure the chrono sub-dials but in real life it is not much of a factor. Also I already have the older Black Bay ETA Red so I needed to change it up.
Roamy360 I almost bought the BB red, I ended up going with the BB S&G... The red can look soo good on different leather straps.. I might have to pick up one in the future.
appreciate the video, going to be picking this bad boy up thanks for the solid review
Great review Mike! I just purchased this watch new and I LOVE IT !! Also opted for it on that Gorgeous strap and beautiful deployment clasp . It was between this and the new" 2018 SMP" the date won me over on this
Hi, are you still loving your watch? It’s between this and the Pelagos. Thanks
@@marketingsuccess2637 I am absolutely a huge fan of my Tudor that being said I am completely going to get a pelagos so take that for what you will but yeah you can't go wrong with it cheers
Another excellent review of an amazing piece. Might have to pick one up 😊
Thanks Ed, you won't regret it!
Yes, it is. Apart from a vintage Submariner.
That is a killer watch with the date complication.. If they bring out a 58 BB Date.. I will be in there.. I think the spring bar hole position on the lugs ,is for optimum clearance when using a nylon/ Nato strap..
The is a Everest rubber strap that works very well with this watch.
My Tudor Black Bay steel arrived today. I ordered on the metal bracelet and I love it. The only thing I wonder why the fabric strap is not with it.
Weird!
@@JustWatchreviews I heard they stop given this strap to the people in the box. The box is looking different like the one in the video
@@MrBaertigerchrist they stopped giving it after they have extended their warranty from 2 years to 5 years
Hope to get this watch soon. Great video with lots of depth that gave me all the info I needed. Thanks, great work.
cool watch. on balance a worthy contender against rolex. slightly more stylish and less prone to getting stabbed to death for. i have 3 black bays and the steel is on the bracelet. all look great and hard pushed to let any one of them go.
love the steel bezel. Nice piece. Thanks for the review.
Thanks Alex!
A version of this sized the same as the black bay 58 would be awesome
I actually like the pin position. You can see the nice solid case.
Me too...
great video. thank you. the thickness slightly bothers me but it could be as you mentioned because of the pin position which might make it look thicker...
That watch is a beauty, and I got if for a steal 😬
Outstanding review! Thank you. I wasn't taken with the steel bezel version when I first saw it, but now it just might be on the wish list..
I really like the date complication on this model. It upsets the so called purist people but I wish it was on all the Black Bay range. I like things that I can actually use in my daily life.
Could not agree more. I hope they offer it on a version of the Fifty-Eight. That's the main thing holding me back.
I'm thinking about getting rid of a Rolex day date president, for one of these and a Speedmaster.
That would be a sweet combo! Thanks for watching and checking in!
I might end up buying one of those
the only thing this is missing is that sexy writing on the inner walls of the watch. Rolex has that and its a detail you notice missing on the bb.
Great Review - thank you so much!
Beautiful watch
I bought this because of the date as well. First time in 5 years I've worn the same watch for 4+ days straight. Maybe this will be my last watch I ever buy. We shall see.
Get the stainless steel bracelet. No need for leather. There's value in the resale (if you ever sell it.)
Tudor designed it the way they did with the bracelet in mind. Downside: spaces with the leather band... Upside: pivoted end links on the steel bracelet, allowing it to pull straight down and fit perfectly on the wrist forming curvature, it fits perfectly on the wrist despite 41mm.
I know it’s a weird comparison…. But I’m thinking about getting this or a 41.5mm omega aqua terra. What do you guys think?
get a black rubber b strap it covers the gaps and looks the bollocks!
Shit Tudor I like this one too!!
With the black strap I immediately thought of James Bond!!!!
I'd love this watch with a black bezel insert, it would be epic
@@JustWatchreviews isn't the point of the whole thing the steel bezel?
Nice watch fabulous content, but the audio is very faint.
Thanks TC, hopefully I've addressed that issue with my more recent episodes.
A very nice watch indeed
Thank you for this great review sir!
Thanks Edwin!
Looks great!👌🏻
A good watch and a good review!👌🏻
All the reviews I see have their BB with the new movement accuracy at minus 2 or 3 a day. Is this true for every BB? I would rather have a watch run fast than slow.
Great review. Thank you.
Do you know if the bezel insert can be replaced with a bezel insert from another black bay?
Good question !
That would be awesome.
Great Video!
Great review and good looking watch. What are your thoughts on the black bay steel chrono ?
Thanks Nicholas! I haven't handled one yet, but I'd definitely like to. They look great, that's for sure.
Amazing that sarb035
Except this is a real watch.
Is it me or does that strap look like it's on backwards?
I thought the same thing, but I double and triple checked it against the Tudor website and other places online and that's how it comes from the factory.
Not just you. Also, the material on the NATO looks like they took it from a car seatbelt.
Horrible material . . .
@@publiusvelocitor4668 yes. It's awful.
I think this may be my favorite Tudor model. I am curious if they may make it smaller and slimmer in their new fifty-eight line with a 39mm case? I would expect Tudor to go that route as it's clear they have no issues with making multiple case sized for their range of watches. May want to hold out on that if and when they make a 39mm black bay steel. 41mm is good, however, I can't help the thickness of the watch at around 15mm is a bit excessive for a watch of this size (41mm) and caliber.
Hi Wing. The new 58 is much thinner, and improved in a few other areas as well, look for a review here soon hopefully! Thanks for checking in!
i am are of the new dimensions and other improvements. That's why I'm holding out and hopefully will see a BB Steel in the 58 specs some day.,.. soon. in the mean time, look forward to your review on one. thanks.
Thanks Wing, cheers!
I own the red bezel Black Bay. A great watch that I wear a lot but the depth is on the large size. Looking forward to trying the new Fifty Eight from Baselworld. Slimmer, accurate and a great looking design. Re my Black Bay, I found the bracelet had minimal micro adjust and I couldn’t get it quite comfortable so I put it on a leather strap. The matt finished lug area really bugged me so I put it back on the bracelet. I am hoping the new Fifty Eight has a finished lug area otherwise it will be a deal breaker.
I have an issue with the leather strap, I'm right between sizes on the holes, and I don't really want to punch another in between. That's why I started running it on a NATO
Could you do a comparison with Seiko SBDC053?
No Lume Shot? Always interested in the tint of the lume.
Thanks for the reminder, I think I'll make a lume only video :-)
If there was a 58 version, I would buy it
Same, that would be awesome.
The demand for a 58 is there, just have to wait. It will come.
Any backplay on the bezel?
No, it's great, BB bezels are the best in the business IMO
hey man, just want to know how thick is this watch
Hi, it's 14.8mm.
I like it, but it's always third best compared to Rolex Sub and Omega Seamaster... especially now that the Seamaster has the 8800 co-axial this year.
Yah, that Seamaster looks awesome, so many great watches out there and so little time to wear em... haha
The only thing with your dislikes it'll be harder to fit the nato strap through the case and pins and you run the risk of rubbing the leather strap against the case, ruining the strap.
Crazy 200 metre water resistant watch and doesn't come with a rubber or waterproof strap. Not even aware of its an optional extra.
Good point, I imagine there's some good aftermarket options out there. If I bought this again, I would get it on the bracelet, then swap a black bezel onto it.
Great observation about the placement of the pins showing the case thickness. Still, it's a wonderful looking watch, and Rolex quality. Please cut your fingernails before you do hand modeling, or better still: invest in a pair of jewler's gloves, since you're serious enough to be posting these videos. Your fingerprints are all over the side of that polished case!
The metal bezel ruined the watch. It Evokes Breitling.
