We had snow and temps down to 5 deg F in the lower 48 in the mid Atlantic area for almost 2 weeks. I thought about you and then I saw this posting and the one before checking your moms and babys at 3 am. Keep the artic circle up your way Tyson, LOL.
That 2594 is awesome, I picked up a near mint 2394 this past spring 5900hrs trans was done and engine had a bunch of work done prior to me getting it. I absolutely love that tractor with the 24 speed, pulls a 45ft land roller better than our 4494 because of the extra gearing plus a more spacious cab and quieter inside. Beats the heck out of the old birdcage cab on the deere’s of that era
Good video. But pull-type grader not a good tool to grade snow. Noticed the drifted snow is only in the road. Whereas off the road, hardly any snow. It's because the previous snow removal only pushed the berm to the side of the road. A wing plow would have been a good tool to move that berm off the road so it didn't act like a snow fence dropping this recent blowing snow in the middle of the road way.
g day Tyson Yea I know snow os pain, but think of moisture u r getting. I think we are getting drier! Remember that thing on priairie farmer about making drifts to catch more snow. Ths
Seeing as you guys have dozers and an excavator, I'm surprised you don't have a road grader as well, especially since you have to keep the pasture roads open. We've been minus 6-8 F here the last few nights and only around 4-5 above zero F during the day
Tyson, around here, (Kansas), for our winters, we'd get North to NNW winds. Live on an East West road so, we get snow drifts bad. Have learned to take a blade and literately pull the snow from the North side of the road and push it to the South side. It doesn't fully stop drifts but, it takes snow away from drifting and really slows it down. Unfortunately, our township are idiots and when they plow the roads, they just push it to the North side and within just a matter of a few hrs, drifted shut. There a reason you didn't use your articulating 4WD tractor to pull the blade with? As always, great video. Cheers P.S. Just a few nights ago, we hit -8 F, don't know what that is in Celsius. Was cold. LOL
Hey Tyson, got a question why do you calf in January, I am new to Alberta but I guess alot of guys do it out here. When I had beef cow back in the 80s we always called in May my dad was dead set on calving in May and saying the calves in December or January. Just thought I would ask.
I'm sure glad that I'm retired and can just sit by the fire and watch UA-cam videos of folks like you dealing with the snow. lol How many inches or feet did you get and how deep were those drifts?
Time to prioritize some LED's on the D-8 eh? Don't like the white stuff and I am sitting here in NW FLA with 6 inches of the crap from last evening...its half melted already fortunately.
Thanks, Tyson! Good old Canadian winter strikes again! 😀
Looks like that would be a good job for ol smokey.
Great video Tyson
Appreciate it
Thanks for the update. Good stuff
No problem 👍
Thank you for the update
Any time!

Yea we are just to the west of all that cold artic air...seems to have gone farther east
THANKS!
Welcome

You might have got more snow than we did, although with that wind, maybe it was falling here and hitting the ground there. 🤣👍🍻
Haha...yea it really didn't snow that much..but it drifts on this road like crazy
Time to get a V plow mounted on one of the tandem trucks just a thought, good luck 🍀👍
@@charleskittler4330 i have a few plowd
Does old smoky have a good heater in the cab? He might make a good snow plow
Oh man...dealing with snow in January in Northern Alberta !!
Lol first time in quite a few years
Cold here, No Snow, that had to be fun 👍🏻
It was a bit of a struggle but got the job done
Looks good
How does the pull grader work for grading gravel roads in summer?
Sure does
Hopefully you will have moisture for next year!! No more wild fires!!
Yup...still need a lot more
It's been a number of years since things drifted in here.
Yea same here...I'm happy lol

Last time it was plowed there was barely any snow
It’s been cold here -8 yesterday and a little wind -25 wind chill

This grader is the closest thing

Warmer than the Cat at least!
Cat is pretty warm...but when it's windy it blows the heat away..then you need tarps
Still looking for the new to you tractor. I live in Southwest Louisiana we got 9inches of snow.
I heard....yea still on the lookout ..but not rushing

Our reason is seeding starts in May.....timing
Live down here in southern Minnesota. We have no snow. Florida has more snow than us it's nuts
We havnt had any snow a few years ..this is great actually
@Northern_Farmer I thought so
MX210 would’ve been good on that pull grader. My 6155M would probably pull it pretty well also.
That's what I used to use
Keep it up north 😂
Don't mind if I do..we need it
In the last 5 days we got 2 foot and still coming down. Calling for 3-6 inches more by noon tomorrow.
I'm sure glad that I'm retired and can just sit by the fire and watch UA-cam videos of folks like you dealing with the snow. lol
How many inches or feet did you get and how deep were those drifts?
Not that much...3 inches maybe...but the fields are bare of snow now...all blew away
Its Mourning in America again.
You said a mouthful.
I hope we get more snow soon, the wind can stay away til hay season lol
I know right
Time to prioritize some LED's on the D-8 eh? Don't like the white stuff and I am sitting here in NW FLA with 6 inches of the crap from last evening...its half melted already fortunately.
My d8 is still not running ..the d7 at home actually does have lights now...we fixed them
Too bad ol Smokey don’t have a blade on the front, it would be quicker then using that and the Cat. Use the Cat when it gets bad maybe.
thats what we do put the silage blade on the front of 1 of are tractors and push them snow drifts back out in the fields,
Yea i wish one of them had a blade
That blade does a pretty nice job, but I can see it definitely has limitations.
The duals on the 2594 don't help when working on snow or ice either.
@@jmfarms3555 nope.. singles are better in winter
You don’t have a front mount blade on a farm of your size
No..cause I have dozers i kinda don't need one
Are you located in Texas? :)
Alberta is the Texas of the north lol
JUST asking. I know you are a proud Canading. How do you feel about joining the us???
I'm just a dumb farmer in central pa. I hope it's a yes???
Shaun didn't get stuck, but know- it - all did what's that say about you. See it all the time in your videos with your bro or Shaun .
Says i take it to the limit and just send it
Tyson you need a snow blower
Maybe
