Tyson, that is just no good at all! Time to trade out an operator for sure. That must have been burning or at least a hot smoldering for quite some time. Hopefully the parts don't run you into the ground. Still a nice running machine pre-burn. Hope you come out of this with a machine better than before! -Bob...

Damnit Tyson!! That sucks!! We've had a few tractor fires over the years. Aspirator caused one. Dragging brake on an articulated burnt up all the hydraulic lines, rock sparked another mowing stubble, embers got under the cab.. crazy how it can happen!
Hopefully you do have all the parts you need, at least that would save a bunch of money, just not any of the time....

Too bad , should have smelt that at lot sooner, the fan blowing back would have fanned the flames assuming there was some old leaves , twigs , a bit of old oil and fuel collection in the engine area. Used to blow mine out with a backpack blower frequently to get rid of the trash

Very sorry for your misfortune. Will keep you in prayers. I’m sure it’s very stressful. My D8H caught fire from burning trees. Powder fire extinguisher couldn’t put it out. Had to drive it 1/2 mile to farm house while farmer rushed ahead and got squirt hose ready for me.
Was very lucky that day. Also, it was about 25 years ago but I just remembered, it had a reversible fan and I always had it set to blow out the front so as not to blow the sand dust and ashes in my face. When it caught fire, it originated up front and the fan blew everything into the radiator forward where there’s not a lot to damage. Your fire looks as if your fan was set to blow towards the operator maybe? I’d suggest once you get it fixed, turn fan around to blow out front if you’re ever going to do anymore tree burning exercises.
Any ways, sure is a nice looking dozer you have there. Love and learn. 😎

I dont know if they are available in Canada but here you can extinguishers call fire safety sticks that have a shelf life of 15 years and no servicing. The biggesy only has a discharge time of 100 seconds but are much longer than similar sized traditional extinguishers.

Shit that sucks. Hopefully it didn’t get to hot around the torque or transmission. Could be chasing gremlins for a while once you get it up and running again. Lots of seals and o-rings that could get damaged from the heat. Just got some bad news on my d7 too. Went to change final drive oil and found pieces in the one. Still operating fine but don’t dare use it now till I get it split apart to see what all is damaged. No time right now to do it either with spring work coming up around the corner. Had our first rain yesterday. Really nicked down what little ice and snow was left. Couple

Thats not bad at all, get rid of that junk ripper. No sence carrying that weight around for farm work. You are very lucky that the fuel lines and transmission hoses didn't burn threw to fuel the fire. The newer D6Ts with that regen shit are terrible for catching fire, dam near a weekly or more occurrence. We would have tools to drop the pans, pull the plugs we made out of the floor boards and used a big compressor to blow all the embers out. Only had to duct tape an air to air hise up front and fix some wiring under the seat.
