Something about the sad notes on the guitar, the pics, the words, his voice…..it all comes together and makes me still cry for this man. No other artist moves me like Bowie.
This song on Earl Slick's album "Zig Zag" is one of David Bowie's Best!!! I am so thankful that The Slick CD was for sale at the David Bowie concert. Earl Slick is one of the most versatile and underrated guitarists ever!
David was a one man Beatles. Always experimenting, never staying in the same groove, 'searching and searching'. Only, he did it for a glorious 50 years. (not an amazing 7)
Surely David was a great musician, artist, performance artist, band leader, father, and husband. He became more superb as he aged gracefully. Wish he was here.
I know there are recordings he made that he didn’t, afterward, want to release. I think this particularly true of his earliest work. But, with the greatest respect to his wishes, I still hope the “EVERYTHING” he ever recorded will be released by his estate. He was one of my favorite artists and every song and album was a journey with him, and for one’s self. Even if he had doubts and second thoughts, not a note or lyric of his works is a waste of a moment to hear and explore. Thank you, David.
One of the best songs, Ive been listening to this song for some years and now it's bringing me to tears now, the words are so profound. David you will be missed and have a peaceful journey!!!!!!
Been looking for Bowie I haven’t ever heard, just stumbled across this gem! Wow, wonder if they will release more of his material formally of at least string a way to connect the dots to a great driving song like this... classic Bowie with Slicky.... thank you!
I missed out on when he really became big ! - I had a time lapse somewhere, somehow - didnt realize how much i liked his music until i found out he passed away - sad in away yet there are things i don't understand about him like his Outside album - such a strange bizarre thing to write - i almost returned it back to the seller
The Outside album must be enjoyed a few times to truly appreciate the masterpiece that lies within. The goofy segues put some off, but give it a chance. I like it best with headphones on, less distraction and can hear all the instruments. Strangers when we meet is beautiful and an easy listen, but some of the others are fantastic and Garson's piano is perfection. Have fun rediscovering the mysteries of Bowie.
I’ve recently stumbled across Bowie @ 52 years young myself... he’s become the #1 play and I keep finding songs like this, the gift that keeps giving - Incredible artist, RIP David Jones...
1. Outside is just one representation of all the material that was recorded on The Leon Tapes. Oxford Town (a totally different song to I Have Not Been To Oxford Town), I'd Rather Be Chrome/OK Riot and We'll Creep Together should have been included. And I'd have removed Voyeur, I'm Deranged and No Control. Strangers when we meet and Hallo Spaceboy are stupidly shoehorned in the concept as well, just to bring lightness.
If only we should be so lucky Frank! 😺💕 I like this & had never heard it before. 🎶 I love David Bowie as a human being ; musician, actor, gentleman, genius & a wonderful husband to Iman 💞 His music is my life soundtrack from 10yrs old 👱♀️💜♏ His dedication to the very end was immense 😟 Sons of a silent age quote "he didn't die, he just went to sleep" 🦋🤦♀️😿💙💕💜💕
This is from Earl Slick's solo record from 2003, called "Zig Zag"--it's excellent, and has other guest vocalists as well as some instrumentals (Robert Smith of the Cure, Joe Elliott from Def Leppard and some other ppl I can't remember now). It's on YT, not sure if iTunes or anybody has it for actual sale. Worth the search--including this Bowie track, there are a lot of other earworms hanging out on it.
+Belynda Morris It's originally on Earl Slicks Zig Zag album, but iI just found out it is on a Bowie compilation called Secret Songs I believe. Recorded in 2003. I think its one of his best of that era. Written with Earl Slick.

Fantastic Album l only bought it for the Bowie track but fell in love with the whole Album and have not stopped playing it since (3 months now)
I really really miss him... He was with me my whole adult life. A phenomenal talent!

Omg his voice is like sweet chocolate to the ears... the way he throws his vocals - he’s just so talented, it’s quite astounding to behold.
I know. It's a cliche to say so. But yes. Bowie is the soundtrack of my life.
Pazzo Redento Not a cliche, just a fact. I wrote a song just after he died (bit of a depressing one) but I use that exact lyric.
Mine too.
Me as well me as well💖💖💖🐈
Pazzo Redento Condivido.Ma continuerà a fare parte della mia vita, perchè non smetterò mai di ascoltare le sue canzoni...
Same.

Outside is a weird record ok, but its got some of his most atmospheric stuff, and his voice is great too

@@marylowder2931 yes indeed. I simply adore him doing it on Later on J. Holland. That's exquisite

Wonderful Find of the Month!
Will I be discovering new Bowie songs until I die!?
Frank Collins I'm The Buddha 😂

For me an undiscovered treat! Thank God there are still such joyful surprises ✨
always haunting and enigmatic ...
You're always special, my friend, as so this song and as these enchanting slides. Thank you so much, marvellous surprise.
Wow this is beautiful x
If one person should have lived for ever it must be Bowie. Music really has died with him.
As much of a Bowie Fan as I am there is still good music. Keep your ears open . Always keep them open.
Sometimes it does feel like that, yes. But legends never die. ❤️
Earl Slick is on tour in the UK November 8th-21st "Fist Full of Devil's" Tour 🎸🙌🔥
Beautiful!
No....nothingis easy without David-onward n upwards....keep him proud...xx
