I'm excited for this! All of our does ate dam raised. They are sweet because we have spent a lot of time with them since birth (the ones born here at least)!
Same here! It's so much easier to let the dam feed them than for me to. 🤣 We just spend every moment we can (in a small space where they can't run away) the first couple of weeks with them and they're all friendly.

Grandma Lacy 🥰🤗🤗🥰 Such a pro on the stand! She looks like a big sweetie! I can't imagine trimming that many hooves. Smart to break them into groups! We have 13 total goats and I trim a few per day until I make it through the herd! The girls all look like they're standing in line along the fence waiting for their turn. Thanks for the video! 😊

You Make trimming hooves look so easy! I find it very demanding for some reason lol.. In fact I have hired a Ferrier to do it and I just assist.😝👍

Thank you Crystal for your video. I love how easily you teach us. A lot of phrases are universal across equine, bovine breeding and confirmation. Like ‘throwing of markings and confirmation’ . My sister breeds Paint quarter horses. I rode as a young woman but my two younger sisters jumped and rode equestrian. My youngest sister switched to western and cutting. She was on the cover of Quarter Horse Journal a few years back. Her stallion lived to 30 years old. It was a sad day when he went to greener pastures. We all know it is part of the farming life.

If you are growing your herd, you might want to save up and invest in the hoof trimmers that Sandi Brock uses. She says her hands don't get tired anymore.
Yes, Sandi Brock loves her electric hoof trimmers. After her learning curve, I think she would never go back to 'regular' trimmers. Downside: she does note their cost ( and she trims MANY sheep, but usually only twice/ year).

I have a buckskin like Sky that's just huge. Getting weight off has been hard. She'll drop a bit but I think she can gain weight on air... Concerned that she's so large and due toward the end of March..
Just keep a close eye on her! Make sure she isn't over eating while pregnant :)

You could get Derek to build a humongous hamster wheel for Sky to exercise on. Bait it with a dangly Fig Newton in front of her...or Champ behind her! You could put that wayward buck that follows you around making noises at you in there too!
Absolutely LOVE the Salty Sea soap!!! Come payday, I'm hitting the soap page! That one bar has moved from the sink to the bathtub to the shower and back again! Lol! The lather is, no kidding, like whipped cream! Haven't tried the Lavender yet, but I'm really looking forward to it!

If her coat doesn't come in thick that probably means we are going to have a hard winter. I know usually this time in January we are really cold down in the teens. This is my first winter here in McPherson KS. The weather to day is going to be very nice it is cold and then warm up. Friday it suppose to be really cold and have snow ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ and some rain turning to sleet . Love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ watch you and love your babies goats 🐐 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I’m wondering how y’all remember all the right names for the right goats. I’d might be able to do it with a few, but you guys have some goats that look a lot alike, and there are a lot of goats!
I have seen all your videos. You almost seem like part of my family. I see you more than I see them! It's going to be hard to get weight off Sky in the winter. Just like with people her body is going to want to hold onto that extra for emergency.
i still have 1 bar of White Gold soap that i brought, i am saving it for when i really need it lol and i do want to buy more and i want to buy some for gifts too for my parents when i get the money but im not sure which one is best for them 💗
All of the does are looking wide already and it's not even been 4 months! I'm wondering if Vogue has triplets due to how big she's looking early on and Maybelline's leg is looking much better, hopefully, things continue to go well for you all!

Bessie is the darker one and she looks slightly bigger.

I have a doe that is 6 years old and she is absolutely amazing confirmation wise and great on the stand. However, her udder isn’t very big and she has smaller sized teats. Is there any thing I can do to up her production or help her udder hit maximum capacity? She produces 2 cups each milking, and she kidded 12/7/21. She has kidded with quads for her first 3 times, and this past time, she had a single doe. Thank you in advance!
A high protein diet helps with milk production but could alo just be her genetics that she doesn't make a lot of milk. Another factor is the fact she only had one doe this year. Their bodies know how much milk they should make for how many kids they have.

My condolence for your loss. All those letter are used. There is a V line from Val’s kids, M line from May’s kids, B line from Becky’s kids and D line from Dawn’s kids.
