Yes, please!!. How does a “very good” replica stand against an original?. But not only a Rolex, how does an “entry level luxury” watch stand against a high end watch?. How about a Longiness vs an Omega?, or an Omega vs a Rolex?.
In fact, the quality of the dial is a good sign wehther it's a real watch or a fake! I can almost tell it by looking at it with a simple magnifying glass.
I love these microscope episodes. You've become one of my UA-cam favorites. Thank you for the explanations you provide on how the manufacturer works on the parts and what materials they are. Awesome!
Ayy Marko! You're looking good! Love your new haircut! You look cute I wanna give you hugs. Btw just to correct things, at 0:52, the magnification loupe most of the watchmaker use is 10x, as I do mostly as well, it's used during assembly and lubricating things, or uncommon 20x for checking the lubrication on the pallet fork against the escape wheel. The 2.5x or 1.5x usually used for checking things out like the function and the cleanliness, and during the QC, and even customers had that to check the condition of the watch or to enjoy the finishing or things. That microscope he used is common being used during lubricating the coaxial escapement like the movement from Omega.

The AP is made with a brocading machine, it’s pretty similar to Guilloché but with brocading there are two patterns layered kind of. It’s nothing close to a pantograph.
Fascinating vid. 👍🏻 🙂Your first watch with the enamel dial shows wear in the brand name probably because in the early days of wristwatches for men the dials were often left blank of brand names from the factory. Back then people were more likely to "buy" the retailer's name than the brand so you'll find the retailer's name printed on rather than fired into the enamel itself, so it's much more likely to wear away. This was more the case with Swiss brands as outside Switzerland and much of Europe people hadn't heard of the brands we know today. In the US market you're much more likely to find US brands on the dial from the factory because the US market was more brand conscious. In the British market it was the opposite and Longines even promised British retailers they'd never put their brand on the dial. Then the Swiss marketing machine took off... 🙂 One of the few real innovations Rolex(and the other brands they had at the time) did was to later insist on their branding on the dials and the rest followed.
