However I will say clones overall tend to perform worse than most of the scents they're cloning (not always, and sometimes the exact opposite happens).. so it's more likely that someone just won't smell anything at all when you walk by, rather than smell you and think "what a chump, wearing a fragrance clone" lol

Sunnamusk evanto fine oil would pass as original simply because oils carry the opening notes longer and present base notes from the start. Oils are also atomic in projection. An enthusiast would know it's not Aventus, but most people would go by what they think smells more professionally created. And oil is hard to contend with.

Ive seen many UA-cam fragance people blind test fragrances with their clones or just blind test cheap colognes and they can’t tell them apart of if it’s cheap. Many fragance UA-camrs are very influenced by Jeremy Fragance is like they don’t dare to contradict him or say something he wouldn’t say, this is why many say Bleu de channel is fresh enough for a hot humid summer day and stuff like that.
This is such an awesome video, and REALLY helped me decide on making purchases of some of these wonderful clones. Thank you for putting this video out! Would love to see more of these!

Her “palate” as it were, was saturated. Next time have a small jar of coffee beans to sniff in between samplings. I love your videos, thanks for doing them!

According to a lot of comments on other videos and other uploaders, Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu is not Al Haramain. Supposedly people have contacted Al Haramain and been told they have no association. Most of the online sellers list it as Al Haramain, but the 'community' says no.
Nice "blind" test, but I have to mention: even if Chelsey never tries to cheat, uncapping/capping the bottles, and spraying them audibly right next to Chelsey, that might give away recognizable sound clue differences between the original vs. the clone bottles. As nerdy as that may sound, but if for example Ash was the blinded examiner instead of Chelsey, then he could likely pick up some of those audible clues and know which one is which before even smelling them. And something else I must mention is my favorite fragrance topic of all time ;) The comparison ought to be better done with the ****drydown****, not the opening. A clone may get closer to the original in the drydown vs. the opening, or in fact the other way around. But in any case where the closeness really matters most is in the drydown.
@@Shawn-gw7ns There are hints our brain picks up without even consciously trying to. How a heavy cap sounds on its bottle when closing it, how it sounds when pulling it out. Even how an atomizer sounds. If you have been exposed to those things enough times, you might end up being able to tell when they match what you are hearing with eyes closed, without having ever tried to learn any of that
I dont know if I could get Angel share and that Kammarah blindfolded, especially after its first sprayed. It takes a while before I can smell how much sweeter the clone gets. Thats a tough one for me at least😅well, they all would be.

How do people find clones? The names are usually so abstract and bottles/presentation typically looks nothing like the original. I've always been curious. Does the clone fragrance house say it in their notes upon release?
I'm guessing it's just the really small part of the fragrance community that is so obsessed they literally buy EVERY fragrance on the market and eventually they find one that smells close or identical to another fragrance, they spread the word and the word spreads fast.

This just can't give a lot of confidence to the OG houses as it relates to maintaining a unique product. Could you have imagined running this same type of test ten years ago? No comparison.
I would guess that if someone was copying my test papers, that we would get a very similar grade. But the credit, and value, should go to me, the one who actually took the test, and not to the one that copied. The credit should go to the ones creating, testing, marketing, and risking, not to the one who simply copied someone else’s work. The fascination with clones and copies baffles me still.

The only way this test would be 100% is the dry downs clone openings have the alcohol opening.
