is this same as Electrical engineering? I am thinking to study electrical tech or something, I want to attend a short term college or tech school, something like 6 to 8 months, any advice? I don't want to be a electrician, working on buildings, but a tech that does diagnostics, any advice what schools are good or what I should study, I live in Los Angeles.
Engineering requires a bachelors degree. If you’re interested in electronics the engineering degree for that is Electrical Engineering. You’ll be designing circuit boards and internal parts and developing electronics. (Phones, computers etc..) otherwise the two year associates degree is called electronics technician. You will only get a technician job working on electronics to repair them.
@Donna_g6198 yes, I will.go community College for one year to study the tech, I hope I can get job thereafter, I wonder how hard the courses are and the job.
You are now ready to take electronics engineering courses. These include calculus, analog and digital circuit design, python and C programming and a basic, one year course in electronics engineering on the college level. In addition to your electronics diploma on your resume, you can list that you took these courses. I know what I am talking about because I have been an electronics technician for 17 years, I have a diploma in electronics from National Radio Institute, and a Master of Science degree in biology but with courses in digital electronics, advanced physics, FORTRAN and calculus in undergraduate school.
Electrical technician has nothing to do with electronics technician. The schematics are different, the equipment that you would be working on is different.
@igi1_1 Yes, that is true. However, in college, they consider electronics engineering s a sub set of electrical engineering. But both deal with the power triangle, kirchoff's Laws and Ohm' Law. Frank
