Unreal guy, very humble person and likeable type of gentleman. Glad he's found his appropriate sport and outstandingly so....I'm bike and run myself so I get his love for aerobic kayaking races.
The dreaded "fastest boat" disease. I applaud Joel's determination to make it work in a boat class above his skill set. Not many people are willing to pay that high of a swim tax and keep at it. But I wonder how his Chattajack experience would have been if he was in the kayak class? I see a similar situation in triathlon with aerobars. Many newbie racers (especially guys) want the fastest bike and end up on a tribike with an aero position that is uncomfortable and they haven't trained a lot on. Come race day they are either in the aero position and not stable, or out of the aero position and not getting any of the benefit. Many would be more comfortable, less dangerous to themselves and others and possibly faster on a normal road bike.
New England in the house yessah 💪🏻
