As a vet I am glad you did this and that it was made in the USA! Im going to try this in my f150.
Look amazing but, I think this is a big no no to the flag code of conduct. For example section (F). Says that The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling. Section (E). The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way. Etc.
But ask ANY VETERAN is they disapprove of this. EVERY ONE OF THEM will tell you they will like it.
It may technically be against the flag code but someone who is doing this obviously loves America and wants to show their appreciation. I think it should get a pass.

I did my headliner in my old mud truck almost the same way. I sprayed the adhesive then used a heat gun and a small foam paint roller. Good job, it looks awesome!

Han Skinslo duck canvas is hard to work with, it'll be really stiff, take it to the laundromat and run it through the washer without detergent a few times to soften it.

I would rather see someone treating the flag in a way that shows respect and admiration, then having someone pissing on and trying to burn it! I give a damn what the code says as long as you care for my flag, fly it, wear it, and show it off as much as you can!

Nothing righteous or respectful about this video. The flag should NEVER be an accessory. This idiot cuts the flag, glues it, irons it, lays it on the floor, all so she can have a pretty accessory in her truck. People need to visit their local VFW or similar veteran support facilities and learn what respect for the flag is.

I would've used a band flag, for the roof, and use a pole to fly the flag inside my bed when I'm just cruising or offroading

FYI, Harbor Freight Sells 5x7 Real Material Flags for $8. Iron is great, and A good Hairdryer works good, if you need to make final adjustments after it's installed. The hardest part of the job is finding all your visor screw holes etc, after it's installed, even after you notched them out prior.
When hanging the flag....stars always go on left side......so yes...stars over steering wheel is correct. GREAT IDEA!
The flag is always displayed with the stars facing the "flag's own right", which means when looking at it, the stars would be on your left, but when used as in this video, the stars would be on your right when seated. Check it out.

The true test will be this summer when I take it out to the desert in 120 degree weather. I'm very curious how it will hold up. I'll be doing an update video this July or Aug. :) Thanks for watching and I'm glad I was able to help!

I love this idea. I'm going to do this in my 1995 Bronco XLT. I think I'll put the canton (blue part) toward the front on the drivers side. I love the look. I'm a vet. and I've been trying to think of a way to carry the flag, and this is terrific! Thanks again. By the way I've had 5 Bronco's since 1988.

I always fold the headliner material in half, and place it close to where I want it. Then I spray a thick line across the center of the roof. I start sticking and patting it down getting it nice and smooth. And then I just keep doing that one 6 to 8 inch sections. at a time.
I plan on doing this and adding a starlight headliner. Talk about custom, that'd be bad ass

I know its very confusing but you had it right with the other headliner. Stars are always supposed to be facing forward as they are charging into battle. they are also always supposed to be placed to the left of the door if you put it your house. Thats what I was taught in the Marines but I still love you put the flag in it! do you have any advice on a 79 bronco headliner?
Thank you for your feedback! Everyone seems to have a different opinion about that one but I too think the stars above the steering wheel is the right way. As for the headliner in your 79'... Man that year Bronco is sure a BEAUTY and looks like such a BEAST!!!! I'm quite jealous! That's a tough one, what does the interior currently look like? I still say go with a flag but if that's not your style maybe hit up a fabric store and find something that catches your eye. Maybe a textured leather...?
Starts always go to the top left whether horizontal or vertical. It only goes the other way when worn on a uniform.

Looks good, I installed foam in my headliner last year after I added a small sub, was driving me insane vibrating to the beat, and it's just a little 8 inch to add some much needed bass. It does make a big difference in sound quality.
Temps have been bouncing around this winter, currently was 10 Celsius today but a couple weeks ago was -35... Can't wait for spring.

Conveniently, the flag code isn't law. The Supreme Court has ruled that we can do what we please with our flag. Because this is still a free country.
People use the American flag pattern as underwear and bikinis. Americans don't respect the flag anymore.

Taking something meant as disrespect as wearing the flag did during Vietnam and turning it into something of pride is the American way.
If you read the can. Tour see it's a contact adhesive. Spray both the surface and the material you're spreading. Let it tack, then stick the 2 together and squeegee it on smooth. This way you get proper bond and no bleed through with the adhesive. I use super 77 or whatever it's called. Works great. I'll go to the 90 formula for vinyl and heavier stuff that you don't have to worry about bleed through on.

I get the patriotism behind this but... this isn't how you treat an American flag.dropping the flag on the floor and cutting it is a big no. Flag code of conduct 🇺🇲. There's history behind why we treat our flag with respect. If anyone else wants to do this, how about dropping a white liner and print/paint/ or vynil decal of an American flag instead.
In the future, Lizard Skin is sound and temp paint that works really well. I used it on my 66 and 69 F250 restorations. It’s easier to install/work with then Dynamat or equivalent adhesive matting.
What you and almost every other video I saw it failed to mention is how to get the foam of your headliner. I figured it out, but would have been cool to find it while watching this. Thank you for the info though.
You were right, stars are forward on the driver side. From the front of vehicle, they will see the stars first then the stripes, the correct way( charging forward). If you put it the other way, they will see the stripes first then the stars, that means retreat!! Since the driver is in charge on driving, the stars go in that side!! You had it right!!
You’re actually correct. The field of stars goes to front of the vehicle, over the driver. When placed on an object or person, the field of stars ALWAYS faces forward no matter where it’s mounted. That’s why on military uniforms the flag is worn on the right sleeve with the stars facing forward on the wearer. It looks backwards to civilians, but it’s correct.
Badass, been trying to do this in my 2011 silverado. However, I just bought a Nylon lol, i read polyester was no good, but seeing this it looked great!

Will you make it so you can easily take the hard top off or a possible soft top for warmer weather? Right now I have a '97, 2 x '89's and a '70. The '97 is the winter driver and trailer puller, 2x '89's and the '70 are projects!

I personally would never cut that flag, it’s disrespectful no matter how you look at it, if anything I would get a smaller flag that doesn’t cover the headliner entirely and then I would get a border so the whole flag would be in one piece. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Love your videos I'm building a 1979 bronco
I have 2 broncos as well. I have a 1990 Eddie bower edition that has a 351 Windsor switched to a carburetor. The second is my Daly driver, 1991 with a 302 throttle body. Broncos are wonderful vehicles and I absolutely love them. I eventually want to get a 95 or 96 and maybe one in the 1980ish and one in the 1970s possibly. Theses trucks are starting to become harder to find anymore, at least in the Ohio area. Great job by the way, your very impressive. Your also smoking hot!!!
Thanks Jim. Yeah these trucks are great! My white one is a 95 with a 351w in it and the now gray bronco is a 96 Eddie Bauer with a 302 in it. The Gray is my daily driver too. I LOVE THEM so much!
Unstoppable Morgan I had to do some repairs on my Daly driver like ball joints, tie rods, throttle body sensor, fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter and the list goes on. But what do you expect with a damn near 30 year old truck with original parts. The only good things is the Daly driver has 79k miles and the 1990 has 0 miles on trans and engine.

To be honest I have no idea. All I know is that I worked on a military base for 6 years and a lot of guys had this headliner. Also American flag plates, cups and you name it are available to buy every July. If this is disrespectful it was definitely not my attention. I’m just a Patriot tryin’ to represent!
