Star wars doesn't have to be just about good v evil.. even the original trilogy, some of the most compelling and memorable bits have to do with Grey morality... like, if it was that black and white, luke should have killed Vader just on principle.. but he didnt.. he chose his own moral path despite knowing the risk to all his friends fighting just outside the window..

Many years ago, in the Marvel produced Star Wars comics, there was a character 'inspired' by Darth Vader named 'Shire Brie'. She used two Sabers, one that was standard, and one that acted like a whip, which Luke had to teach himself new tactics in order to defend against, so the idea is not new to Star Wars, and I've seen similar weapons elsewhere, such as the first appearance of the Ferengi in "Star Trek Next Generation', where they used 'energy whips' (not exactly fully glowing like Sabers, but still energized in segments).

This Hollywood “checklist” to make sure every story includes every color in the box as well as place importance as to where everybody likes to stick their bits just so no one’s feelings are hurt is ironically leaving no room for a story. I'm with you and I think Disney has been ruining most of our favorite shows and characters. But there's one detail about this issue. There's no downvoting management from youtube because it's not official. The downvote counter is a browser extension and it's managed by the extension makers themselves. Who are they ? I don't know, do you ? Therefore, how on earth can you claim Disney "deleted over 200k downvotes" ? Who deleted them ?
Some people think the extension shows the hidden numbers. That's incorrect. The browser extension detects the click on the downvote and the data goes to the extension makers servers. Not youtube. No one knows how accurate the counter is. some tests say it deviates a little but we simply don't know. So exact numbers are a no go but I bet they are almost as big as they're been shown. That's for sure.
This makes me laugh, I've been a "Black Nerd" all my life until Disney bought Lucasfilm. I'm still a Black Nerd, I just don't watch Star Wars or Marvel anymore!!!!
One thing I like to point out about SW is that it's a sci-fi product from the 70s that appealed to people where humans were just humans. There are white actors but all humans in universe are just humans. So, all of this talk of representation in a world of aliens and talking robots is ridiculous.
