I had open heart surgery seve ral months ago followed by a stroke which left my legs crippled and limited use of my hands. Am finally able to sew but quilting is out of the question. So is knotting for comforters. Long arm quilting is too expensive for all the tops I piece but then I remembered a twin quilt i made many years ago putting the three layers together using buttons. PROBLEM SOLVED. I am on way to creating again. Thank you for the tutorial. I had forgooten how to do the buttons.

God bless you. You have been through some traumatic events!Whenever I hear a story like yours. It really puts my issues into perspective and makes them look silly. You sound like a really positive and strong person. I'll say a prayer for you to regain all your functions. Your story really touched me. You sound like an incredible person. Continue staying strong and positive!

I don't have the same machine as her so it wouldn't do me any good anyway, but she showed that you just need to set the feed dogs to 0 and stitch width to whatever the distance is from the center of the holes. BTW you can measure that distance accurately by measuring from one edge of a hole to the same edge of the other hole, so you don't have to eyeball the center

I've got two pairs of pants that I keep asking my wife to please fix and she keeps forgetting to. Last time I joked that I was going to learn how to use her sewing machine and do it myself. Now I'm going to mildly impress her, not with my ability to use her Brother machine, but at my pure pettiness. 🤣

I'm a guy and need to learn how to sew my own clothes when the cheap buttons break or a seam rips, and I'll be damned if I know how to use a needle and thread,. However, I am comfortable around machinery and I have an easier time figuring out a machine, so the sewing machine method is what is helping me (albeit my machine is much older and I have no idea how half of the functions work yet).
