My daughters corsa e has the fault code p0171 last.year replaced the purge valve all. Then again last week eml mixture lean p0171 removed purge valve and unable to blow through either tube!! Is this no good or should you be able to blow through one side ??? It was not a genuine one fitted last year..Thanks

My old one was blowing through both sides so I’ve changed it for an oem new part. The light still on tho? Will it go or do you have to clear with a machine?

      Evaporative emissions purge valve
It is supposed to stop the fuel tank venting to air to reduce hydrocarbon emissions.

The way the rocker cover and pcv valve are sealed tell me that Vauxhall are 100% relying on the tank purge system for correct crankcase breathing, older cars would have a manifold side breather and an airbox duct side breather for the crankcase these don't.
Older cars would have restricted holes into the manifold so that only a set amount of air could bypass the throttle plate through the purge valve and breathers, these seem large enough so that any breather fault confuses the ecu.
You could with older cars blank the purge valve and fit a vented fuel filler cap instead.
There are reports of fiats and ford ka's (fiat platform) suffering issues with the pipe work from the tank to the purge valve failing too.
