Gotta love the new work boots Scotty! 26:16 Ugga the duggas & your comment about the foot pound of torque had me in stiches! Guessometry is an exact science! I've got the same balancer in my 2003 Holden VY S LS1 ute and it really makes the difference.
All progress is good progress! Just regarding the amp draw, could you have configured the Nexus to switch off things like the electric water pump and all fans at WOT? Then they wouldn't be drawing power for the critical 7 or 8 seconds. Now with the mechanical water and PS pumps, they'll be creating maximum load / power loss at that exact time (high rpm). This is a great build. We can all sense your frustrations with it, but you'll hit your deadline 👍
Scotty please tape up inlet, exhaust and front of engine this is simple stuff that costs nothing and takes no time engines probably already suffered contamination.
Great Episode. ❤ Good to see Scotty wearing work boots and long pants, while Welding and Grinding. Not like the other UA-cam Legends in Shorts and Thongs . Sadly KT26s are no longer available 😢
Permatex is your best friend, maybe it's just me but, seeing no tape on the heads intake ports makes me worried. Cost me a few bucks over the years. Steel caps Scotty, very flash!
The K-frame was designed by Germans in the 1970s and watching you welding it gave me the weirdest image of Hans and Karl with their slide rules and pencils- “ziss should be gut for drei litre motor, yah?”
Scotty one of these days I'd love to see you get in touch with Tom Nelson from Nelson Racing Engines and see if you can't do a review of one of his larger twin turbo builds for some cool chassis that you've got down there. David Freiburger used one of his 1500 HP engines when he built his 73 Camaro called the F-Bomb that was in Fast and Furious 4 from 2009. I was pumped to see it because I knew about that car far before it was in that movie. NRE has some really cool designs such as their custom built intake manifolds, mirror image turbos, and their custom machined blocks. I'm sure you've heard of them before though.
Great episode as usual Scotty What about good old fashioned non power rack and pinion ?? More “feel” and no power draw (after all I’m sure your used to no power steering from the valiant days) and that would have been a box not a nice little rack Heheh Thanks for the show and looking forward to seeing it running in future episodes with you running the fastest you have ever gone Keep up the good work
We all joke about the ugga duggas and she'll be tight. But as someone who has had a balance come loose from not being tensioned correctly. I highly recommend that you check that crankshaft bolt with a tension wrench.
after so many trial fits and removals my brain would be hearing, "insane in the membrane"! is the seemingly extra complicated plate setup at the rear just to hold seal in place, a GM thing or is it just on Dart blocks?
Ahh, while other SM staff are off enjoying the Hardass Challenge, Scotty is hard it in the garage to bring some Good Friday Morning goodness 👌 Happy Easter, Scotty
Good content, cool car, but some constructive criticism, needs to edit these videos better, 22mins of watching a timing cover, balancer and water pump be bolted on, and the unpackaging of EVERY gasket, like watching paint dry sometimes
Why run 3 pumps that can draw up to 75A when you can use a single external pump that would pull less and controlled by Its own vsd? Just me but i cant bring myself to depend on 3 pumps and one fail then i have melted pistons etc when a single dies its shuts off….yes damage can result but its no fuel pressure normally instead of demanding 70+ and only have 50, safeties i know but still lol
I only use mechanical water/fuel pumps….when has one ever let anyone down on a cruise? And for anyone that says a mechanical fuel pump can’t pump the volume….. NASCAR use em, and they run at 9000RPM all day. I also understand you can’t run a mech fuel pump on this….I’m talking tuff N/A
@@LV-FOURTWENTYSIX nah mate but try watching a few other big channels and you may see where im coming from. Not meaning to sound wingy just what i said true. You're nearly rite and completely rite in most other instances. But not this time mate
“Every girl crazy ‘bout a sharp dressed man”. It’s the KT26s-gets them every time.
I might stuff that up for you but I have always heard that wrongly as "a shy best man" Drives me nuts when I hear it.
Cool
A good grind can make the worst welds look a million bucks😉
Great to see ya Scotty working on her ,i hope you and your family have a wonderful 2024 Easter buddy, keep up the great work.👍👍✌✌🦘🦘
Best way to start the morning, with a bit of carnage!
Safety boots!? What next? Welding jacket?

Can’t wait to hear this thing Scotty, the suspense is killing me 😂
You really are taking your time and doing things right with this one.
Another great show and great explanation on fitment Scotty, always enjoy your show 👊👍💪👌

The difference between a good and bad weld is a coat of paint👍

Nothing boost won’t fix

No kt26’s is the biggest travesty.
so much progress well done

Looks like you have that Dutch rudder action down pat with the rattle cans Scotty 😂.
Really good friday - carnage time
Getting very close Scotty great work mate 👌
Even the shoes have been upgraded on this build !!
Crackin on Scotty 🤟 Be all worth it once ya take it for its debut rip😊
She's starting to come together bro WOOHOO..
Looking mint Scotty 👌 👌
Some nice welding sparks falling from the sky into those intake ports .mmmm yer
Mmm physics says no

please fix the safety latch on the engine crane hook ,i would hate to see that engine drop ,safety first scotty

Done that before as well, but power steering is relatively simple to hook up
Scotty, have you looked at Super capacitors to cheat your power draws? Cheers mate.
No I haven't, interesting idea though

Loving this build series and the step up in quality. Keep it up
Does the dart block not need a windage tray?
So are we putting solar on the roof and rear tub to offset the electricity. 😜🤣🤣👍
Using the right tools and things looks so much better than that bloody shifter!!!!! "That's what she said" PMSFL.
Great episode mate. Coming together nicely. Can’t wait to hear it.
I like all thoughts articulated about the electrical system. Accessory drive power losses aren’t gonna be noticeable with the donk I reckon 😅
Exactly
after so many trial fits and removals my brain would be hearing, "insane in the membrane"! is the seemingly extra complicated plate setup at the rear just to hold seal in place, a GM thing or is it just on Dart blocks?
GM thing
Good song choice
Love the new boots Scotty
Old boots but sick of welding sparks eating through joggers
How's the bumpsteer now? Is this going to be road legal?
Seeing the rack height hasn't changed, bumpsteer should be the same
You guys going to the rockhampton nats?
If you’re gonna have an ear worm, zz top isn’t a bad option
Just copy the long range EVs,a diesel generator set in a box trailer behind you 😊😊😊
Scotties mock-up Olympics. Gold all the way 🇦🇺👍🤙

Happy Easter, Scotty
Did you shorten/lengthen the rod ends?
Neither
800 buck balancer?
Good Lord.
I didn’t see you align the pump?
You're right, I didn't. I guess we'll see if that comes back to bite me
How many ft llbs? ALL OF THEM 🤣
What happened to the K26 sneakers Scotty?
Got sick of weld splatter in the sneakers
Good content, cool car, but some constructive criticism, needs to edit these videos better, 22mins of watching a timing cover, balancer and water pump be bolted on, and the unpackaging of EVERY gasket, like watching paint dry sometimes
Well, unfortunately, this is what we're working on right now. Either we show this or show nothing.
Scotty, who made that rear main cover?
GM
@@STREETMACHINETV Okie dokie. Thanks.
Where’s the KTs?
And people wonder why race cars cost so much! It never ends with the fit and refit.
I thought Planet of Women was rattling around in Scotty's head
Are you putting a beefy alternator on Scotty?
140 amp

The pumps will be staged. One primary, two secondary
That plug is on stock engines.
Yep, but in a slightly different location
👍👍👍

no time to film scotty, 1 breef update then final product.
You make it look all too easy, I want to build a cortina but if I were to follow step by step I would end up with a bloody vs Ute
lithium battery that can charge off a 160 amp alt will solve all ure problems
lost interest when you put that goop on the gaskets recipe for distaster
Why is that?
@@STREETMACHINETVprobably run into the oil drain back holes.
In this day and age of electric workshop tools I wonder why no one makes an electric engine hoist?
I'm sure they are available
You look like you need a break from this one Scotty, doesn’t seem like your are enjoying this one anymore.
We're in the worst part of the build right now, I went through the same thing with the Lexcen. The pay-off is when it runs and drives
For the most exciting car being built it's the most boaring build I've ever watched. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Annnd if it only went for 10 minutes youd winge theres not enough detail. Some people just like to winge. Maybe dont watch.

Then don't watch it mate, simple. This is the reality when building a car like this, especially as a one man show like Carnage.
Can't even spell boring, this content is way over your head buddy 😂
