Yup, I came down to say the same thing. I was thinking it was criminal to rip that thing apart then I saw all the rust. Road salt is brutal in the rust belt. Some kroil would've saved that thing, it's a shame
Pretty good score. A reliable 4-liter engine, 5-speed transmission, and all the parts needed to make it run for around $750. That's a deal! Getting the Jeep out of the moving van was about as sketchy as possible but it worked, so that's a win. The tires looked like they have a lot of life left in them too. Tires are pricey these days. Overall, I would say your auction purchase was a success.

You have really upped your special effects budget, Lego isn't cheap 😀 You have an amazing entertaining presentation style. This was a great watch, most of your videos are, but this was extra special.

Many would not find any value with the stuff he's dealing with or not find the motivation. But his imagination is great to be abl to find enough fun in it that it's alright.
The jeep unloading has to be one of the best things I have ever seen on UA-cam. Completely amazing while also top marks for unsafe. Nothing could have gone wrong there. 😂😂
At first I thought it was a shame about the newer jeep. However, when I saw the bottom of it. There is nothing left except a little body metal you could sell or use on another project later.
Excellent stuff, from an old brit who bodges for England. That unloading sequence reminded me of when I had a wheel disappear into the night, off a 4 wheeled car trailer...with my trialling Skoda on top. I wasn't sure how I could drive across country on a motorway, with a three-wheeled trailer, in the dead of night, without being seen by someone with a blue light on his head. So I blagged a recovery truck! I had a passenger with me, who was over 80 years old, so I didn't think he'd fancy driving the Skoda [raised suspension, a bit of power, etc..very British type of motorsport, is trialling], and he didn't fancy driving the tow car on his own [old Volvo estate]...So the recovery driver winched the trailer onto his flatbed truck, and his boss came out with another truck with a sliding bed. I drove the Skoda onto the sliding bed truck, which was then backed up to the other flatbed [beavertail is what they might be called?]....and the sliding flatbed slid out level with the strapped down trailer. I then drove across onto the trailer, and we strapped the car to the trailer, which was strapped to the flatbed truck.....and I drove the old Volvo home, leading the way. [About 150 miles, which is a long way in the UK!] When we got home, at 3 A.M. the truck driver found that all his straps on one side had snapped, so only the straps on the other side were holding the whole shebang onto his wagon. I didn't make an issue of it! Winched the trailer down until it almost touched the ground [about a foot drop off its end] The Skoda dealt with that drop with ease [it was a trials car, after all]...The trailer was landed next, easier without the weight of the Skoda on it.....All home safely! When loading the whole thing at the motorway services across the other side of the country, we were watched by a couple of Police fellas, who dared not intervene!!! Somewhere in deepest darkest Shropshire, is a householder who found a trailer wheel in his hedge come breakfast time!
No matter how bad a day I am having LBG always makes me smile. Mostly because I think much the same way our host does. Looking forward to seeing this one up and running.
I just found this channel like a week ago, and I've watched so many videos already. Big fan of junk, and making cool stuff out of it, so this seems like my kind of place.
Glad this popped up in my feed. I saw the original episode. I love the sense of humor with everything. Subscribed , looking forward to the rest of this project.
What i love about this project is you're basically taking two jeeps & making one good one out of the two! the parts jeep had good running gear & some good suspension but everything else was rotten whist the old jeep is all good apart from the suspension & running gear. THIS is the content i subscribe for!
$750 for that YJ is looking like a pretty good deal, I' sure you will get a lot of parts besides just the powertrain, and have some sellable or tradeable stuff even after all that. The moving truck unload was genius! I also use your work on it, take a break method on my 73 CJ-5.......except suddenly my last break stretched into 2 years and counting.

I love that you brought the 'Passpartout' track unit back. I'm guessing it is supposed to be a small snow-track or ATV for dairy-farm use. It is very similar looking to a small French plough tractor from the 1930s, but this one is probably from the 60's or 70's and more lightweight / more suited to be a run-about.
Love always learning something new with these vids! Sometimes the idea of gutting a donor car to rebuild another car makes me feel bad, but in this case... yeah that other Jeep was rusty enough that this is the best outcome. Same. I was about to be mad he tore up a nice 4.0 yj but that thing is cooked. It has a lot of good parts to keep other ones going though.
I was thinking of exporting these jeeps at that price until he got underneath 😂
