Wow, das Steinerne Meer! Was für ein faszinierender Ort in den Alpen! Für Bergwanderer, Bergsteiger und alle Arten von Piloten. Vor ziemlich genau 30 Jahren bin ich am Steuer einer TB10 über das Felsmassiv geflogen - jetzt endlich mit dem Segelflugzeug. Die rund 60 Kilometer Distanz von Unterwössen bis zum ersten Berührungspunkt waren natürlich gespickt mit tollen Aussichten bis zum Alpenhauptkamm, starken Kontrasten zwischen saftigem Grün in den Tälern, Nadelwäldern, schroffen Felsen und dem strahlenden Blau des Himmels an diesem wunderschönen Tag. Trotz Blauthermik war die Luft sehr aktiv und dank Paraglidern, anderen Seglern und Greifvögeln konnte man die Aufstiegszonen gut erkennen. Manchmal auch einfach an den kleinen Cumuli, die sich kurz zeigten um dann wieder genauso schnell zu verschwinden.
Derzeit bin ich wieder von der HPH304c auf die LS4b umgestiegen, da ich mir einbilde, dass sie trotz fehlender Winglets noch schöner fliegt und vor allem im Innenraum leiser ist.
Wow, the Stone Sea! What a fascinating place in the Alps! For mountain hikers, mountaineers and all kinds of pilots. Almost exactly 30 years ago I flew over the rock massif at the controls of a TB10 - now finally with a glider. The approximately 60 kilometer distance from Unterwössen to the first point of contact was of course peppered with great views all the way to the main ridge of the Alps, strong contrasts between lush green in the valleys, coniferous forests, rugged rocks and the brilliant blue of the sky on this beautiful day. Despite blue thermals, the air was very active and thanks to paragliders, other gliders and birds of prey, it was easy to see the ascension zones. Sometimes just by the small cumuli that showed up briefly to then disappear just as quickly.
At the moment I switched back from the HPH304c to the LS4b, because I think it flies even nicer despite the missing winglets and is especially quieter inside.
