I was very interested when I read about, The Hidden History of Jesus, His Royal Family, and the Birth of Christianity. The tittle of the book is THE JESUS DYNASTY, it was written by Pr. James D. Tabor, and he is Chair of the department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He holds a Ph.D. in Biblical studies from the University of Chicago and he is an expert on the Dead Sea Scrolls and Christians origins. This is really interesting to know about the life of my Lord Jesus and His family. While I was reading this book one of my friend came up and told me, Augusto you have to avoid reading this kind of book. I said why, he answered you will lose your Faith if you know about the hidden life and background of an actor. I looked at him in reply, do you know my Faith does not based on this book. Even though that this book tells me everything so accurately as what had happened in the 20 centuries ago. But it doesn’t shock me at all, rather my Faith become flourish. Faith is Faith and Truth is Truth, my intimacy relationship with the one who silence on the cross for the sake of my claim is tough.

No ancient historian or geographer mentions Nazareth. It is first noted at the beginning of the 4th century. Nazareth is not mentioned even once in the entire Old Testament. The Book of Joshua (19.10,16) - in what it claims is the process of settlement by the tribe of Zebulon in the area - records twelve towns and six villages and yet omits any 'Nazareth' from its list. It's the Town that Theology Built

Has anyone ever considered that Marcus Herod Agrippa wrote the first Evangelion and wrote HIMSELF into it? As the "youth in the linen cloth?"

Miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit, the incarnate Jesus was formed from neither egg nor sperm, but was 'nurtured in the waters of the womb', thus bestowing His 'Jewish-ness' via His mother, Mary.
Mary (the physical line) was a descendant of David through Nathan and conceived Jesus by a creative act of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1: 35). Joseph (the royal line) was a descendant of David through Solomon. Joseph ADOPTED Jesus in a temple ritual making Jesus his legal heir (Matthew 1:1 - 25).

And this princess married a carpenter? Well if James Tabor is any good, let's hear about Mary's (Miriam's) lineage going back 1,000 years. Or is that in the book?

@Stephanie Ashworth What you are describing is the "Cosmic Sperm Bank Hypothesis" and ancient people embraced this.
It would not be unimaginable that God could maintain a cosmic sperm bank. If God's power is absolute then all things could be stored up in Heaven, even our own future bodies.
For myself, it sounds bizarre to believe that today knowing how wrong ancient people were about things.

You failed (in the video at least), to mention Paul who took nascent Christianity in a whole new direction. You said nothing about the birthing of the anti-Jewish notion of Christ killers (not just the milque-toast 'moved away from its Jewish roots' as you so quaintly put it). As for building the lineage of characters from King David or even Aaron, You could use family names as much as you like, but the distances in time even then from Aaron (and we don't (yet maybe), have definitive evidence for an Exodus), was about 12-1300 years, and for David about 1,000 years. I would posit that your enthusiasm for the subject matter exceeds your ability to provide enough evidence to back it up. I say all this as a Jew, as an Israeli holding dual British-Israeli nationality, having lived, worked and served in Tsahal (IDF). I am not a scholar, but have read many work purporting to know more than seemingly unlimited attempts to distill yet more information from thin air about a character who may not be entirely historical.

The most important question is, what are the results of Jesus? We as scholars can have a multitude of opinions of who Jesus was. We may believe that Jesus was a Rabbi with the almost paranoid schizophrenic, megalomaniac psychopathy that the end was near and that he was the chosen one of whom the prophets wrote about. But if that was all he was, then why so much power, given on to them who accept and believe? Every mad man has his end, Hitler, David Koresch, Sun Myung Moon, Jim Jones and many thousands more. But all great nations began with the acceptance of Jesus as God. Most notable and most amazing is the USA which was started by the separates or "Pilgrims" under the government of William Bradford in 1620. Their success is beyond anything that mere man could have done. He called Jesus his "Savior". Hence, Jesus was more than man for a myth and legend can only bring so much hope before it fades away. Jesus has brought more military might, prosperity and peace then all great men, teachers, Jewish rabbis and philosophers combine. Why? Because he is God.

Nonsense argument. An older, much older religion than judeochristianity is astrology. 100% garbage, yet half the world still believes in it. People believing nonsense is the human condition.

How could it be invented centuries later if its mentioned in the gospels? Even scholars agree that the gospel of john was probably written in the 90s AD

@vlunney hey whats more we have Tammuz, again Dec.25, mother Semiramis - virgin. Called Tammuz the incarnate of her dead husband Nimrod, who was killed by Shem. Tammuz was also killed with a wound on his side like Jesus. Like Jesus he was resurrected, his tomb's stone was rolled over. Sounds familiar right? Right! If it smells pagan, looks like pagan, its got to be pagan. If it looks shit, smells shit, do you have to touch it and eat it?

Yup, all that schooling, and you prefer pre-scientific mumbo-jumbo. maybe you should live in that pre-scientific era: no electricity, no motor vehicles, no plastics, gas-stoves, running-water, healing drugs, surgical techniques, free education etc etc. I'm sure you'd feel right at home. Afghanistan in another 6 months will be just like that. You could go there on vacation to see how it suits you.

@@rafaelnunez4725 - Congratulations! You have discovered that most men are greedy in most human endeavors. So, what's new? Now, if you can look beyond the sinfulness of Man, which is pretty obvious to most of us, and if you can find the righteousness of God, then you will have done something worth being congratulated for.
