As a Bible scholar, I am surprised that you know so little about healing in the Old Testament. You stated that the only healing that you know of is King Hezekiah (2 Kings 20:17). This is incorrect, because there were others, particularly if we define healing in the correct sense; to make whole, to restore, to mend. Gen 20:1-18, Abraham prayed for the healing of Abimelech’s wife and servants, and they were healed. Sarah was healed of barrenness in Genesis 18:10-14, 21:1-3. Numbers 21:4-9 has the most astounding healing from which the medical industry gets their symbol of a snake intertwined on a pole, that is, when the venomous snakes invaded Israel’s camp and killed people, Moses put a snake on a pole and told the people to look at it. Anyone who looked at it was healed, which was a miracle combined with a healing. You also stated that there were not ministries of healing, which in one sense, is true in comparison to today’s world, because we live in a multimedia electronically-run world, but Moses in this event comes about as close to it as possible. It could be likened to a mass healing crusade, with close to 2.4 million people gathered (Ex. 12:37 states that there were 600k military men alone, minus other men, women, and children). Manoah’s wife was healed of barrenness in Judges 13:5-25. Hannah was healed of barrenness in 1 Samuel 1:19-20. King Jeroboam’s withered hand was healed in 1 Kings 13:4-6. The Shunnamite woman was healed by Elisha’s intersession in 2 Kings 4:8-17. The Shunnamite’s son was healed after Elisha interceded for him, 2 Kings 4:18-37. Naaman was healed of leprosy in Elisha’s ministry, 2 Kings 5:1-14. Job 42:10-17 shows that Job was healed after having boils and other diseases. Nebuchadnezzar was healed of his mental illness, Daniel 4:34-36. These are specific healings mentioned, but obviously not all healings that occurred, since healing was the promise of God in numerous Old Testament passages, but more emphatically, one of Jehovah’s (Yahweh’s) names in the Old Testament is Jehovah Rapha, which means "Healer, the Lord who heals you" Jehovah Rapha is set six times in the Old Testament, in the Law, Prophets, and Writings, to insure that Israel never forgets who their healer is. Mr. Tabor, you may be esteemed as a scholar among your peers, but you missed the entire boat on this one, which makes one wonder if you just spend your time reading liberal writings about the Bible and miss the real Bible itself.
This caught my attention as well, good point. Also to consider, in his response to angels and demons, what of Christophany? We see the angel of the Lord spoken about in many instances, to the point of even having a physical altercation with Jacob, and what of Genesis 18? etc. There's 10-12 instances of these supernatural encounters. They are perhaps a bit different in the OT compared to the NT, but we clearly see the progression of God's revelation to mankind. Jacob himself says in this passage he saw God face to face -- clearly not just guy chillin in the middle of the desert waiting to wrassle him till the break of dawn.... While the NT reveals most miracles around Christ and his direct ministry, the OT is more of a national level. But I guess parting a sea and moving an entire people out of a nation aren't as big steps as making the blind see? =)
What about angels who went to visit Lot? What about the nuclear explosion in Sodom and Gomorrah, and what about Lot's wife turning into a pillar of salt? What about Noa and his extraordinary mission of saving all animals by his ark? Are these no miracles?
He is incorrect about the demons. In the Hebrew Bible the demons are controlled and sent by God himself: the spirit the troubles Saul is a demon; the lying spirit, or spirits, that is sent into the mouths of Ahabs false prophets is a demon. Also, when Satan is mentioned he is also controlled by God, as in the book of Job. If the Star of the Morning mentioned in Ezekiel is interpreted as Satan, he too is controlled by God. Jesus does the same thing in the New Testament. It my be more Greek, because the culture at that time very Hellenistic, but it is still the same thing.
well, Jim, I've been listening to you for a while, and you are very articulated, but to say there is no healing in the old testament sort of blew off the respect I had for you. I'm no bible expert and I can come up with several instances of healing in the Hebrew bible.

Mr. Tabor makes a great point. the miracles in old test do not have the characteristics and frequency of the new test. and that raises questions about the writers of the bible and the inventors of the "christian" religion. Where was this "jesus" god or loving god in old test times, who did not cast demons out, and did not do healings, even through prophets, in the old test times. WAS IT A DIFFERENT GOD that Christians "hijacked" from Judaism???
Learned in seminary that the plagues of Exodus are the defining characteristics of the Hebrew deity with respect to his victory over the lesser gods, that the signs and wonders spoken of by the prophets are always pointing to pharaohs defeat in the plagues. Furthermore the miracles of Elijah and Elisha are equally stunning and significant in their portrayal of THE LORD; also, the Chaldeans (like Abram of Ur) were reputed magicians and astrologers (see the nativity passages in Matthew and Luke) and these Mesopotamian magical thinkers predate the Greek mythology of the Roman era gospels. In short, the absence of these major points make me question the sincerity of this scholar, like he’s hiding literary facts behind positivist slight of hand tricks. Why?
Hi Robert You should talk to Chuck Missler. I have been listening to his studies since the early 80's. He is brilliant. He takes a technical approach to understanding scripture. The Bible has features that would suggest that it is holographic in nature. The Bible also appears to have coded messages on many levels. It is fascinating stuff.
A recipe for carrot cake also appears to have coded holographic messages, if you're dedicated to thinking that way. Doesn't mean anything special about the carrot cake.
This guy seems to go out of his way to say the OT does not have that many dramatic interventions of God... saying it is more everyday things. But he does not touch on the dramatic interventions and totally avoided the question. What about the 10 plagues? What about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and Lot's wife turned to stone? What about the fire coming from heaven and burning up the sacrifice that Isaiah (I think it was Isaiah) lays out? What about The Parting of the Red Sea? He totally avoided the question.
One thing to remember, the bible is , stories written by mostly men what they believed a god to be in their time. That is why you need Faith to believe now, you hope what they wrote is true but there is no evidence. What God did in Jeremiah 31 should be still happening now.🤔

Absolutely not. First, the available evidence strongly suggests that God does not exist. Next, the underserved pain, suffering, and early death of children especially establishes that a omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent god does not exist. There may be a so-called god that is the "ground of being," but that god has nothing to do with life on this planet.
