The way that this is written truly reflect the mind of a child that was abused mentally and physically, they had been manipulated for so long that they believed that their “caregivers” hurt them because they deserved it, because it was their fault. No child should ever have to go through what Hunter did.

Despite how antsy it made me feel, I really liked this fic. But holy TITAN that line with Steve during the unicorn incident was terrifying, as well as his face and neck scar one. I suppose the third degree burns were also terrible -- blast it the entire thing was horrifying
