There is a comment on here addressing my fathers singing abilities and I just can not allow that to be in conversation. My father is not only a very talented vocalist but has been a member of the temptations for close to 40 years. Employment is based on what you can produce! And as an artist this is something anyone can be the judge of! His current stint and position in the temps is a TESTAMENT to his talent. If you’ve been to a show, then you know that he brings the energy! My God father Otis Williams and my father Ron Tyson are best friends and both a class act. I will not tolerate anything less than well wishes for either of them!
Amen Reyna I second all this!!!!!!!!!! Your dad is all around class act !!!. His presence in the Temptations has most definitely help to keep them current. He has been that steady rock for Otis threw all the personnel chances that is huge!!!
Ron Tyson is a great singer. I love him as the lead (Tenor) singer with the Tempts. His voice has gotten stronger and he has gained more confidence in his appearance on stage. Keep up the good work Ron .
That was Glenn Leonard on the 1980 Christmas album version ron did a later version I think Eddie did it too on the1970 Christmas album but the 1980 is the one everyone familiar with
👍🙂👏👏👏. He look like one of my uncles. One of my fathers brothers. I love his voice. Outside of the Temptations, some of the songs he's singing you can hear how close Ron and Eddie Kendricks sound alike. He is a good song writer as well as singer. He's proved he's dedicated and has staying power. Thanks for the info. 👍✌👊. Love, respect and positivity always. Neita james. 🙂💕🖖🙌👋..
Ron Tyson first started as the Ethnics in the late 1960’s before he joined the Temptations in the 1980’s after Damon Harris left. The Temptations originally had Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin along with Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin and the last surviving member, Otis Williams. By 1968, Dennis Edwards of the Contours joined the group where it replaced David Ruffin and went into Psychedelic Soul with “Cloud Nine”, “Runaway Child, Running Wild”, “I Can’t Get Next To You” and “Psychedelic Shack”.
To me, Ron Tyson is my personal best Tempts Falsetto and I totally dig the Eddie Kendricks, Damon Harris and Glen Lewis too, but for me Ron Tyson, was/is very smooth and I probably dig him most cause I born in the 70's and grew up in the 80's and that is when the Temptations dropped new songs that I grew up to, Soul to Soul, Treat her Like a Lady, Your Love (More Love), and yeah Truly for You - classics... Great video thanks!! One of my most favourite ever songs, Blue Magic's The Oscar he also co-wrote with legendary producer/guitarist Norman Harris... Tyson is a genius.
Great video always enjoyed Ron can't say it's vocability could I do Glenn Leonard who I think was the closest thing to Eddie Kendrick and also recordings because of the advancement of technology playing actually outside maybe even Kendrick especially on the Christmas album that sound at night will live forever but all due respect Ron held it down always presented himself as a gentleman and the ultimate temptation
@@rafaellarkins405 - I agree… Damon Harris had Eddie Kendrick number. Not to take anything away from Kendrick but Damon stepped right in Eddie’s shoes… May Damon rest in piece. I just remembered something. Damon Harris and Richard Street (RIP) died weeks apart from one another.
Some of the biggest hits during the disco era were writing and co written by ron for artist like the trammps first choice double exposure salsoul orchestra just check their catalog you find something that he wrote or co wrote
He also did heaven only knows some of best tracks from disco era were writing and co written by ron the trammps first choice double exposure all had some of ron work on their albums
Ty, (as we call him) is one of my best friends in LIFE. and You left out a lot of his musical accolades. The former group The Ethics, changed their name or Rebranded as the Love Committee , not all of the members of the Ethics carried over to the new group. They had small success with the Disco Record, titled Just as long as I got you, from the Album titled Law and order. After disbanding the group. Ron (Ty) went on to become one of the most successful writers of Disco Music during that entire ERA. He wrote the hit Records Double Crossed, and Dr. Love for the Hit making Trio First Choice. (Side note, I used the words from Dr love as a pickup line to former fiance, and after we met Ty I told him about that and he couldn't stop laughing) He also Wrote the Disco Hit Catch Me on the Rebound for the late Lolita Holloway. All three of those songs are STILL club hits in the House music genre. Those songs came out in the 70s, and became bigger hits in 80s til today. Ty is also a great person father and Grandfather. His late Brother, David Tyson, sang with the Group, The Manhattans.
My least favorite among the Temptations. I loved Damon Harris, Eddie Kendricks, Glenn Leanord. I just don't care for Ron Tyson. For whatever reason The Temptations haven't done a lot of great love songs since Eddie Kendricks left and it was noticeable. With some exceptions. I loved Richard Street. To each their own.
He sounds very mousey and just terrible in my opinion…I honestly don’t know how he made the group or lasted that long. He’s the one guy who may have been worse than Otis! 😂🤷🏾♂️
@@504boi8wd because they’re main source of income is touring and Ron does whatever Otis says. And Rons voice is higher now. The video Yes or no was actually really good.
@@garymayfield5995 give this guy a break. If you listen to the other group he was in, one song you can hear how close his voice was to Eddie. And Eddie was my Favorite. @@garymayfield5995 I agree with you 💯 on that comment! Ron Tyson is a respectable tenor and songwriter and anchor ⚓️ for the temptations, his tenor voice is feathery , in the beginning his voice was stronger and clearer, with age not as strong and depending more on his natural voice! Never gave Otis a day's worth of problems!
@@garymayfield5995 The closet one to Eddie will always be Damon Harris glenn and ron were good but Damon had that style of phrasing his words like Eddie

I've never met your father, Godfather or you; however, glad you addressed those comments. Mr. Tyson's vocal ability is stellar, to which I can attest.
He can sing but people are entitled to their opinion.
Bro, your dad is an amazing singer. My favorite song from him is Think About Tomorrow. Love and reapect to him, you, and the rest of your family.

Ron can sing first tenor/falsetto,
second tenor,and baritone.
The man is a vocal legend!
He’s celebrating 40 years with the Temptations this year.
Ron has been a steady asset to the Temptations . He sings, writes, dances looks good all around gentleman!!!! Just ask "O"
Ron is a great contribution to the group. He resemble's Ron O'Neal of Super Fly.

Love His Voices. ❤❤❤❤❤
Didn’t include his time with Love Committee during the Disco era before joining the Temps. They had some real good songs.

He was sososso underrated
Ron will forever be in the temptation legend category with silent night he killed that and it's a timeless record 👍

Glenn Leonard was the original falsetto voice on the recording.
I would love to see Ron Tyson Perform his Ethics songs.

I beg to differ with you , Ron Tyson can sing with the best of them. He can blow.
My sentiments exactly! He is just as good a singer as any lead singer out of Philly.
Ron Tyson - Got my Swagger Back, is a good song.
