  • Fitting a Total Triumph exhaust to my Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE, sound comparison between standard and upgraded exhaust as well as a few mishaps along the way.
    Similar in style to the exhaust used on Guy Martin's great escape scrambler, as well as the upcoming 007 film, No Time To Die.

    Thanks for the effort and humour in posting this, I got a set recently on the back of it and Life of a Scrambler reviews. The new ones come with baffles to help with backpressure now the cat has been moved back to the mufflers so for those crying about noise this is lessened. And they are freakin awesome. I wrapped the baffles in fiberglass wrap to take the edge off a bit more as I commute and leave at 6.30am and love my neighbours, which a certain small pene Harley owner obviously doesn't as he opens his up all through town just before me. In their native state these are nowhere near as loud thankyou Londonstevelee below know what you're talking about before you talk about it. Anyway, the reason for commenting is, as well as to say thanks, that having read comments from others and a bit of trial and error myself it turns out they are quite easy to install. There's a captive nut in the middle of the pipes so pop that off first. Then smear a bit of liquid soap on the insert end and with a bit of wood against the captive nut bar just tap them in. Took about 30 seconds once the rest was set up.

    I love that bike! Is that a 2020? How do you like it?
    My other question is, does the exhaust make you super hot while riding and idling in town? Will it burn your leg? Sounds amazing! Super nice bike and I'm considering getting one.

    Great video! I had the same "persuasion" issues with mine but I do love the sound so its worth it. Have you put baffles in? I've got some in mine and found it helped a little bit with low down torque and also a bit less 'tinny' or hollow sounding exhaust note, and I may even try packing some fibreglass behind the baffle as I've heard it also helps deepen the note.

    If you’re a fan of the Triumph Scrambler, read Forgotten Road by Randall Arthur. The whole last half of the book highlights the Scrambler with numerous on-road adventures. The book is a work of fiction, but supposedly the adventures in the book are all based on Arthur’s real-life experiences.

      I bought this on Kindle this morning on the strength of your comment. Might pay to mention to people it is a Christian book too and speaks a lot about the characters' god. Not a biggy but a bit to wade through for those with beliefs different.

    That's offensively and stupidly loud - practically unsilenced - at least with the huge number of noise cameras being rolled out at the moment you will have to change it pretty damn quick. I'm no kill joy - never had a standard exhaust in 40 years of motorcycling, but come on man - that's socially irresponsible - giving us two wheelers a bad name.

    • @enginerelish
      @enginerelish  3 роки тому +3

      No, not at all, it must just come across that way on the video. The cat is still in and does a good job of keeping the noise down, a straight pipe would definitely be too much!

      @@lawdayl Don't forget these are slashcuts at practically car window height. When filtering, passengers and car drivers on the opposite lane with open windows are going to get a blast. Again I ask, do these exhausts have baffles?

    • @lawdayl
      @lawdayl 3 роки тому +1

      @@LondonSteveLee I recently rode on a parcel run with 120 other bikes. Mine was nowhere near as loud as some of the cruisers. With the catalytic converter still in they're not obnoxious at all, just a nice rumble. With a decat I'm sure they would benefit from baffles though.
