i like the first ICO update. all the "noodle arm" complainers just want a point and click adventure and will never be happy. WATCH, as the shooting gets easier , the game will start to die off.. as much as people hated ICO , it changed the way squad fights felt. Any more tinkering to make shooting easier and youll get that "battlefeild" feel again when a guy runs in a room and INSTA ADS an entire team . "pulls a play" "" whoo hoo mom get the camera " ". Yeah no thanks. the shooting is more rewarding in this than TARKOV since they did the "baby plz " recoil update.
really glad the ICO is finally getting adjusted, and while I get the vision to make it feel less arcade-y, the weapon destabilization while walking or after running for 10 seconds is just way too much
gun play before ico was perfectly fine, other than suppression being useless and q e spam maybe being a bit over the top it was fine, now vehicles are 10x more powerful, gun fights are complete rng and there's no skill base, everyone has spaghetti arms and the cardiovascular system of a asthmatic 79 year old, they never listened to anyone on the OTHER side of the argument for ICO when it came to it's implementation and that's why there's such a discrepancy in the communities opinions on ICO.

I got this game a week before the Infantry overhaul, and this kind of sounds like they're going back to what it was like before the Infantry overhaul. And I heard you said you don't think so. I really hope not. Before the overhaul, it seemed that you were lucky to have four or five people working as a squad, and the rest go off and do their own thing. Although the Gunplay is kind of slow, it really makes us work together. I hope the changes don't affect that. Great video, as always
funny... as someone who spent 1k hours before the overhaul i fell exactly the other way around. Since everythings plays so slow you get players that just cant keep up leading to squads beeing dragged out over the whole map. Personaly i realy disliked the overhaul. I can live with the weapon supression and accuarcy debuff with low stamina but i feel like if they would give us the movement speed back, the game would play smoother and people would stick closer together I mean be honest how many rounds are just over after the team fails to get a good defense running after loosing the push on the mittle flag or the one defense hab get downed. Theres almost no comeback from that it just snowballs so hard in the current state of the game
before the infantry overhaul everyone was running around like a super soilder jumping from secound floor of a a building just to sprint 100meters and headshot someone 200meters away. Now i feel like an asthmatic paraplegic that nearly dies if miss 5 steps of stairs and gets stopped by a chest high wall who also never got handed a real gun in training or theres a 20kg rock tied to the front of his muzzle. Also combat vehicles like ifvs are just overpowerd after the infantry combat overhaul which is the most ironic I feel like we need to find the middle ground between those 2 states of the game
I am very happy you and I have a similar end goal; communication and teamwork. That being said, I spend time around other experienced players and have 3,000 hours over four years in the game myself. ICO has severely tarnished the average player quality for a variety of reasons I will not go into at this time. What for sure is extremely noticeable now is, on any experienced server, the frequency of stalemates as nobody is able to "push through." Otherwise, experienced players are still beating inexperienced players through game knowledge, map control and their ability to adapt to the new gunplay. I can attribute your experience pre-ICO to server quality. Squad, in my opinion, is downright unplayable on the wrong servers and I feel this is more the case now than ever with the ratio of new-to-experienced players. I attempted to get into Squad and put it down after about 100 hours years ago because it didn't click. I came back and found some quality servers and have been addicted ever since other than taking a long break on the release of ICO.
@@reher100 the team snowballing is a result of shit squad leaders that don't know what fobs are. If the entire team just sits on the one defense fob, you will lose. The team needs people to spread out, counter attack, gain map control, place fobs on the next defense, and all that jazz.
I really hope they overhaul the machine guns in terms of handling and versatility. After playing many games of squad, automatic riflemen and machine gunners are by far the worst classes to choose from in terms of contribution to the team. The most effective squads are ones who use ambushes, flanks and environmental cover. Machine gunners throws that out the window and basically acts as an easy target and gives away large scaled movement. The devs should give MGs an option to “duck” while firing from the bipod to give protection while providing suppression. On top of that, MGs are horrible to handle without a bipod or standing. They are supposed to be extremely effective when clearing hostile rooms. I trained in room clearing in the USMC and we sometimes had our machine gunner take front and dump rounds from the hip on any room with confirm hostiles. The m240, m249, mg3, etc. are extremely heavy and can easily absorb most of the recoil, I find it ridiculous how these guys hip fire it like they have noodle arms, but can somehow sprint and ads with it, improving its recoil can make them more versatile, but would also finally be an effective way to clear those damn “super fobs” instead of lobbing hundreds of grenades.
double the MOA of SBRs and 1.25-1.5x stuff like m16a4. that way machine gunners cant get sniped in the head from 500 meters away by an m4. yes i know its possible in shooting ranges, but hitting a head sized target at that distances is just not super feasable in combat
Regarding gunplay changes point by point... 1. This is pretty vague, but one thing would really help this game feel less clunky in general not just in gunplay would be ACTION QUEUEING! How many times have you tried to ADS only to have nothing happen because you started pressing it a frame before a previous action was completed? This impacts so many things from reloading to switching weapons and it makes the game's gunplay feel so dated in some aspects. 2. There are two kinds of stabilization debuffs in Squad that stack - movement and stamina. I don't think they're referring to stamina here. The movement debuff kicks in from translating or rotating, and is a more short-term effect. 3. The main upshot of the weapon "archetype" model they will be going for is to make balancing simpler. Most of Squad's weapon stats are hidden and unique to each weapon. Many weapons are just copy-pasted stats, for example the stubby m4s of WPMC handle just like USMC m4s. What they are trying to do is to have each weapon "archetype" use the same stat instance, so that balance changes are applied to sets of weapons instead of uniquely for each one. Weapons of a given type will feel more consistent across factions, so people can learn to handle them faster. Lack of variety is the trade-off here, but for this type of game I think it's a smart design decision, provided the archetypes are balanced correctly. 4. Machine gun classes have such heavy mobility penalties already, this is just a much needed buff. 5. This is an odd one. If they create an SMG archetype and have the handling characteristics like those of the MP5, that is already a very strong CQB weapon. A mobility increase could be a more interesting alternative than "control", by which I assume they mean recoil. There is no recoil on the MP5 already...
They could add 2 new things: 1- if the stability meter up the compass is full, the guns becomes very stable for full auto use. Like project reality. 2- add a universal weapon mount option. It adds that extra tactic of do I stay near a window and give my position away but I can mount my gun on the window and give myself an extra advantage of high ground and more stability, or stay away from the window and suffer the recoil penalty but you don't give away your position easily.
Depends what servers you play. Arab servers always vote desert maps, Russian and Ukrainian servers usually vote maps that fit their area and english/us/german etc servers vote pretty much everything
If GE and other mods are what the future of the game will look like in terms of CAS, they NEED to add manpads. obviously you cant have 30 dudes with man pads flying around but having it in the same realm as a sniper it would actually balance out some of the more advanced CAS platforms. not sure if OWI will add things like the apaches or cobras but if they do then well need to have some form of actual anti air to counter the massive stand off those platforms provide.
I played arma reforger and drove a vehicle... through the fence. Thats where I felt something break inside. I will jump squad ship as soon as anyone give me something similiar but with finally good vehicles.
I think why the community is always seeking gunplay changes is because the kits are already decided on how they're to be played based on how the rifle is set up or what offerings the kit has. Within each role, there are kits with or without certain features, such as optics or sidearms or grenades. I think that Squad can use a similar version of what Insurgency does with kits. For example: you want a powered optic on your grenadier rifle? Your trade off is less grenades. You want more hand grenades on your rifleman kit? You lose the smokes or even your 2nd bandage. I think there are many combinations/trade offs that each kit has to offer that could benefit how each squad is set up, and how each player can adjust the kit to the maps. Allowing the player the option to pick their entire kit based around a sort of point system allows much more freedom to the player, without making certain kits/factions overpowered.
Great vid! I hope they really work on the lmg’s and crew served weapons. A 249 right now when you shoot a 5-10 round burst it shoots to the stars…. It’s a 20lb gun shooting a 5.56. And then the 240b is even heavier yes shooting bigger amo but same thing. Using an lmg in squad now is the opposite of fun when you can’t do basic fundamentals shooting 5-10 round burst after having real life experience and playing pre ICO. I really hope they work on them.
I'd like to see more weapon loadouts for different kits. I much prefer red dots, holos, or even irons on most guns over the standard 3-4x scopes but several of the LAT and Grenadier kits force you to use a scope.
It would be nice if they added an emergency reload where if you double tap r and you shave a few seconds off the reload by ditching a mag. Currently conventional forces reload like they are at the range and no one is shooting back. While insurgents and militia reload like delta force
5:06 The main issue of MGs is that they literary turn u 180 after shooting like 40 rounds. And with MGs standard barrel position pointing at the ground you somehow become completely helpless when u have a duel with someone holding a rifle. And no, suppression doesn't help much. The 6.0 update was a major issue in its entirety. I'll never get tired of saying that squad felt much better before that BS of a rework. And that's just a part of what's turned Squad from my favourite game into something that is literary painful to play. From the optimisation that feels less and less present with every update to the longstanding bugs and issues that literary exist half a decade and don't seem to be undergoing ANY attempt at being fixed. Not to mention that ANY update in this game creates more issues than it fixes.
No matter how you feel about the ICO (it's garbage); they are very slowly walking back the gunplay changes they made. To me, that's amusing, and gives me vindication.
this major update they are teasing really needs to come with some positive logistics tweaks, as it is right now with 2 logis and heli delays and 10min respawns logistics is rough and really hurts the quality of matches
Whoa, that reddit post might have done something about the MG adjustments they're proposing. I'm supposing it has to do with the "half-ready" animation that makes the MGs go barrel down after a player makes a step in any direction. It's probably the most damning part of using these kits and it feeds the guns direct inability to do anything without standing completely still, which invites all sorts of room for punishment from the enemy team. The deathloop for an MG is hiding their position until they can get a miracle burst and then dying immediately from return fire. It's miserable. There's no reason a rifleman couldn't resolve the same thing possibly even faster and with less limitations on their weapon, firing the same bullets, with access to optics as a baseline. The utility of having a scoped MG only really lasts until someone returns fire and then microadjustments completely destroy your ability to fire back at the return fire by un-bipoding and throwing you into either a purposely unusable ADS wobble or the half ready where your gun gets underslung and points offscreen for more than a second of animation. It's unfun by design. I theorized in the thread that it was to limit their firepower in point blank engagements but I argued that they should be powerful in that exact situation. I'm hoping some minor edits to some of the weapons profiles in the SDK could either disable the thing to test it or to make the time for this animation to start a longer interval of player movement. The fragility of lightly armored vehicles in WPMC, especially the Loach, I thought would give a massive purpose to the MG class as a dedicated anti-light platform at the team level but that doesn't really work even with the velocity, spread, tracers, etc. that they seem to have as mounted guns on lighter vehicles. I've had great games running around like @HenkiSpanky with just a 240b on a vic and a small team and clipping rotors, but the infantry gun is lacking in every way to do stuff like that.
Sorry but 6:26 do you have active fov on weapon. What setting should I change to make the lens see smaller? at the moment when I aim it takes up almost the entire screen
Give SLs more weapon variety. Ive noticed a lot of people wont make a squad or bait and switch so they can play other classes. While i understand realism of loadout, perhaps an optic variety would be enticing enough for people to stop doing this.
It's a global community and server's rule issue. The game allows SL to play with any kit. And there are no objective benefits of SL kit if you already have a rally and don't build anything. Unfortunately, pretty much all existing servers rule that SLs have to use the SL kit
I hope they tighten up how guns behave when you turn during hipfire, its just weird and clunky and not realistic in any way. Why does my body lag turning after the gun instead of turning the gun and body/view together? Genuinely makes no sense. A regular human let alone a trained soldier should be able to keep his gun pointed within 5-10° of the direction hes looking, without wobbling or leading the turn with his barrel. If u try to turn at a moderate speed your gun barrel sways of to like 30-50° angle from screen center... absolutely ridiculous.
@Slay3Kilo i very much hope so, the current hipfire mechanics just make no sense to me. i cant imagine anyone would ever handle a gun that way that has spent any time weapon training. And point fire mode would also be a sick addition, to pair with the high zoom scopes, especially for some factions that have only or mostly 4x scopes on their guns
fucking FINALLY, some ico fixes. hopefully i can actually enjoy this game again rather than just coping through bad gunplay to get to the teamwork aspects ive loved for ages
I appreciate the challenges incorporated in the ICB. As close to realism is what I like most. I do not like factions that have overwhelmingly superior firepower over others, however. This make the game unfair. Especially since the introduction of CAS. Every game with CAS and a good pilot is turned on its head. We do need to strike a balance between realism and turning it into another branch of COD.
@@germangamingvideos6069 NO! once you start giving everyone AA, then Air is moot. The more we democratize the roles within the platoon the less useful and unique an individual will feel.
@@FriedrichMeier0 You are more right than anything. I think the weapon sway was introduced as a method to combat truly unrealistic shooting. Its one of those compromise things.
Yea the only problem with the realism you like so much is that if you've ever shot any real firearms in your life you'd know that the only way the ico gunplay could be considered even slightly realistic is if your forgot to zero your optic and strapped a ten pound weight to the end of your rifle lol.
Change the sounds of guns.Add maps from eastern europe or Turkey side.Add placeble howitzers to the all factions.Heal the gun play.Make fall of the dead body better.Rework the game modes. All good👌
I believe the ICO was the best update they could have done to get back to their original goal. I like that they are constantly fine tuning it to make it better. I see a lot of people saying that the ICO ruined the game, but that depends on how they view it. Because squad has had record high player counts since after ICO, but due to alot of new players coming in, a lot of experience players are also switching to locked or clan servers. I do feel that they also need to incentivize players to due the tutorial since most of the new players I’ve talked to skipped it completely. But yeah, as a long time player (5000 hrs of being SL or command) I would like to be able to step down sometimes and run some infantry kits without having a bad SL.
The game has had most of its free weekends post ICO update iirc, so its very likely the peak players happened because of one of those, as for avg player base im not too sure about that so I cant comment there. As for ICO, while I do agree with some of the ICO changes, I also think it went far to overboard on the gun handling. Definitelly needs tuning, especially close range combat like hipfire and iron sights. Long range scopes i think are in a somewhat decent spot, could maybe be toned down a tiny bit. Most of the issues I find with how unclear, uncontrolled and messy close range combat is.
Also a record number of modded servers running mods to delete the ICO weapon handling. Making it so even those people playing aren't necessarily indicative of an ICO endorsement.
1:29 i hope we will get a true ukraine map in the future, with canals, terricons, industrial areas, mines, indstrial farm complexes and just donbas 2014 vibes
i wish theyd make it so that scopes weren't limited. like why is it on marines for example u can have one medic w the acog but the other is fucked and has to use iron sights..like, why? if its a mil sim game every marine will have an acog if they don't have some other better scope for different weapons
Honestly they should just hire on the mod teams. There putting out more and better content for free. Hell just have them rebalance the ico and the game will be better
Gunplay has really improved lately. I think mg and lmg need a tweak because currently are shit, but the big problem and no one is talking about is the movement, thats the "not responsive" thing in the game that needs a tweak. Why u cant sprint if you get shoot mid reload animation? Why u cant cancel it? i dont want parkour again and climb like a monkey thats not the point, i think the player needs a smoother movement.
im gonna comment as someones whos just a casual but how the fuck does a Marine trained and whose life is in danger cant even hold his gun after running like 5 meters lmao I love this game its just too stupid the gun system
thats what you guys are excited about? thats it? for all the time Owi has been COMPLETELY neglecting adding functional new content to the game that adds more dynamic gameplay ie; towed artillery, better maps, more exciting objectives, the ability to dig our own trenches or foxhole? WHAT THE HELL???
Honestly, I'm dissapointed to learn about the changes on gunplay. Squad is one of the only FPS which uses the stamina and gun recoil to affect the gameplay, so that players do not go "CodStyle" in a sim. From what i'm reading (specially about movement and machine guns) they are basically making a uturn on the changes they made. I just hope it will not be too significative and that we'll keep having the games of "organized" squad we love
No, it is not a return. Those changes implemented last year aren’t going anywhere, instead it’s adjustments within the infantry combat overhaul, as I mentioned towards the end.
@@Slay3Kilo you keep saying "not a return " but goals like " Making weapons feel more responsive" when all you have to do is crouch then shoot, at the moment , is NOT a good sign. With every little "refinement" to responsiveness and less sway we go , the more like CoD its going to feel . ITS ALREADY TOO EASY to get a kill on ZERO stamina. Currently its a point WAIT click adventure , and this nerfing of the ICO is going to turn it back to a point and click . First ICO iteration was more : Position , point , wait , wait , click.
ICO made it worst to play LMGs. Trying to suppressed enemy will end you literally dead a seconds later. It’s supposed to stop enemy from firing back but no it’s just literally not fun anymore.
I can still use LMGs, it’s just a lot more situational than it used to be. Can’t do anything without bipod ing first, but the suppression mechanic is better than it used to be.
Give every rifle a scope option so it more fun playing anything else then USA. Does it break som kind of lore and how cares if so? i dont think elit russian soldiers running around with iron scope 2020+
Let my tanks and heavy vehicles go over the little rocks, stop HABS from glitching and not allowing people to spawn, and move the welcome to server notification to on a different part of my screen instead of on top of join Squad. Fix the stupid stuff that makes me turn off the game out of frustration then give us all the other stuff
Informative vid. Thanks, Slay3Kilo. I hope we get somewhere around a 30% dial-back on weapon sway and overall responsiveness. I would like my weapon to come up faster, even if there is sway, and I would like to not be punished for simply shifting in position, be it standing, kneeling or prone. I would like to see more "little birds" and some hand-held AA.
I understand why people dont like ico on paper, but i feel like it boils down to this: you shoot what you aim at, it doesnt matter if you have 0 stamina or not, if your sights line up and you click on the enemy the bullet goes there. i hate how people shit on "oh unrealistically bad stamina" and "oh dude this gun is so unrealistic it has too much recoil" when you are the one compensating for this all and shooting everything with sub moa. I love the ico and i hope they dont revert their changes. squad after ico is so much more different than any other "hardcore" fps , tarkov, arma, whatever. I feel like ico gave the game a real niche, and i hate to see games fail after they cater for low attention span niggas like HLL did. i feel like ico has forced people to play differently, some of the tactics and teamwork with new people has been amazing and given me experiences you cannot get with any other multiplayer fps at the moment. i love how suppression and stamina is implemented i really look forward to their balancing of weapons among the same type and their imminent buff for lmgs, i will say the ico has nerfed them into the ground, you almost see nobody taking a pkm or saw over a rpk or m27. i feel like suppression shouldnt be a primary weapon so if they dont buff them and make them better than rifles in more areas i feel like they should at least get an ammo bag
Great vid ! Love the informative content you have on Squad! I started playing at the ICO and now 900 hrs, I love it and now exclusively play and stream squad. Happy to see all the people hate the ICO leave. With record amounts of players playing more than ever. The game is a better place without them. Also the squad community is amazing ! One of the main reasons I LOVE THIS GAME at least with the clans and servers i play on with 10+ year squad gamers.
So basically u have no pre ICO experience and have no clue whether the ICO haters leaving was good or bad. I'll tell u this though teamwork hasn't gotten better or worse sometimes you get lucky and get good squads sometimes not. The fact remains people are still people and they play almost exactly the same it's just harder to hit things now, so that people who suck at aiming feel better about themselves compared to before. literally a stated goal of the devs albeit rephrased.
ICO only made is easier for armor, 10 seconds of sway before you can fire AT is insane. ICO was never about helping infantry, it’s for the 4 armor player per team who won’t help the infantry anyway. Armor isn’t even relevant in modern conflicts, squad is at its base an infantry game and needs to be viewed through the infantry’s eyes.
ICO is terrible. There are way better ways to incentivize team play.. Nerfing the core mechanic of the game ( guns ) is the dumbest thing any game has ever done.
Infantry overhaul killed the game for my group of friends - 5 guys in the 400+ hours played group. Its just not fun at the end of the day. This is good news for us and might bring us back in.
I noticed that all the OG hardcore players stopped playing. All I see now is incompetent squad leaders and guys who don’t even communicate or use teamwork. It’s sad what has happened to squad in the past 2 years.
Yep basically all the people I used to play with since like 2017 have basically stopped playing and switched to other games since the ICO and most of the really popular servers are running Supermod or something alike where all the ICO shit is turned way down. Its genuinely really sad to see how much of the OG community they pushed away with these changes.
true, after the ICO the only thing I get from infantry combat is frustration, every engagement is a wobbly and blurry mess, even proper flanking and maneuvering is discouraged thanks to the heavy movement penalties.
@ majority of people who supported the the game from its birth (me) don’t enjoy the game as is because they completely changed it overnight for no reason. No one had an issue with how it played before ICO
@@MrWinchester1995 literally the next comment under yours says how ICO is the best thing that happened to the game, and its not the only one. So I kinda doubt your statement chief
@ well, seeing as every update since the ICO has been slowly getting rid of it… I’d say I’m right. Give it a year it will be back to an actual fun game. Pal.
yeah the game used to be way more intense and fast paced while remaining incredibly tactical and strategic. it was way easier to lead a squad flank and you relied more on positioning yoursef in an ambush position predicting the enemy. now it seems like a slog and both teams just shooting instead of killing. the worst part is that all the old layers i remember having such great times on are never played anymore.
If the ICO is so good why have they constantly been backtracking on all the changes since they released it. I hate cod and trying to compare pre ICO squad to cod is ridiculous. Being able to hit my shots with low or no stamina doesnt make the game like cod
ICO was never meant to be realistic, was meant to make the game be played realistically. There needs to be unrealistic mechanics to make players behave in a realistic manner cuz people won't naturally behave in a video game like they do irl
For the haters of the ICO who swore off the game to never play and that the games horrible to play, they really seem to be on all the squad videos moaning in the comments. Really doesn't seem to affect how much they sit and complain.
To all the ICO haters. Players on servers with the ICO neutered are generally braindead, zero team cohesion too. Way better players and teamwork on servers with ICO enabled.
@@schweinehund3497 If you haven’t played on the pre ICO servers like Total War Chicago or the Mumblerines, then you might not have experienced the level of cohesion and team work Squad used to have in the past. ICO killed the high quality play servers. Post ICO game play is mostly people running around the map aimlessly or building sand castles (super fobs). I agree though that the level of play is even worse on modded servers, but that still doesn’t make today’s ICO servers high quality game play servers.
Even if it is ‘milsim’, brother soldiers don’t have spaghetti hands) I had hold gun before, and it is not ‘omg high recoil on 5,56 with m4, omg so hard to control fucking 9x19’
why do people cite realism when saying they should get rid of ico, its not about realism its about slowing the game down. People whine about "DUDE WHY DOES MY TRAINED SOLDIER SHOOT LIKE SHIT" when every gun is shooting sub moa People who hate the ico are just low attention span people who want this game to be COD but with vehicle claim, there are hella servers that undo the ICO (every modded server ever) and nobody really plays them
Not only did it ruin the game, it ruined the community. I’ve seen some of the top clans stop playing Squad altogether. Why is this a big deal? Four of them were hosting servers that had the highest caliber players playing on them. We have gone from being able to play against the best players in the world, to having squad leaders that do not know what a logi truck is.

Now i feel like an asthmatic paraplegic that nearly dies if miss 5 steps of stairs and gets stopped by a chest high wall who also never got handed a real gun in training or theres a 20kg rock tied to the front of his muzzle.
Also combat vehicles like ifvs are just overpowerd after the infantry combat overhaul which is the most ironic
I feel like we need to find the middle ground between those 2 states of the game
Even the flanking squads need a good machineguner
There is no recoil on the MP5 already...
nice video man i always like to watch you, keep uploading you will grow
Thank you!!
They could add 2 new things:
1- if the stability meter up the compass is full, the guns becomes very stable for full auto use.
Hope they add more Europe maps, currently most people are exclusively voting for desert like Basrah and Talil
Would love to see more European based maps.
Hope they fix those scopes because holy fuck that looks unplayable.
Allowing the player the option to pick their entire kit based around a sort of point system allows much more freedom to the player, without making certain kits/factions overpowered.
it may be a good thing in insurgency but squad is more milsim oriented, and irl you don't really chose an optic over less grenades etc.
Thank you!
I'd like to see more weapon loadouts for different kits. I much prefer red dots, holos, or even irons on most guns over the standard 3-4x scopes but several of the LAT and Grenadier kits force you to use a scope.
Great update - thanks man!
Appreciate it!
I hope the "big news" they're dropping on Veteran's Day is about the Insurgency overhaul. This is the biggest thing missing from Squad right now.
It was so much fun in Project Reality.
They said some game mode updates would be down the road in a Q&A but we haven’t heard much about that since, so I don’t know that’s it be that.
Another map like Yeho would be sweet. The rolling hills and tree lines in that level make it the best in the game.
they still need to add in a dedicated point fire mode for weapons with scopes on them, instead of the default hip fire its always been
It would be nice if they added an emergency reload where if you double tap r and you shave a few seconds off the reload by ditching a mag.
They should add more modern kit for the Brits. Feels like we’re fighting in 2001
Give SLs more weapon variety.
I’m wondering if hip fire will see a difference with adjustments to responsiveness
Can they fix the minarm issue when I’m crouched at a window/sandbag with AT when I have a clear line of sight
fucking FINALLY, some ico fixes. hopefully i can actually enjoy this game again rather than just coping through bad gunplay to get to the teamwork aspects ive loved for ages
Would probably be a good idea to also have more/better dedicated aa options
@@germangamingvideos6069 NO! once you start giving everyone AA, then Air is moot. The more we democratize the roles within the platoon the less useful and unique an individual will feel.
nothing about the weapon sway is realistic thats why they are finally changing it
@@FriedrichMeier0 You are more right than anything.
Cant wait for the machine gun tweaks as an ICO lover the ICO completely screwed mgs.
Could be interesting!
i wish theyd make it so that scopes weren't limited. like why is it on marines for example u can have one medic w the acog but the other is fucked and has to use iron sights..like, why? if its a mil sim game every marine will have an acog if they don't have some other better scope for different weapons
I can't find this newsletter, was it deleted?
hell yeah Squad news!
For sure!
we need some more weather and trench warfare
Honestly they should just hire on the mod teams. There putting out more and better content for free. Hell just have them rebalance the ico and the game will be better
I think it’s better to have them separate. Gives them more freedom to try things and push boundaries.
Man I hope they back on the infantry overhaul. I un-installed the game because of it.
I really just want ico to be toned down, the supression changes are pretty good and recoil is alright but stuff like pip and sway is really annoying
Gunplay has really improved lately. I think mg and lmg need a tweak because currently are shit, but the big problem and no one is talking about is the movement, thats the "not responsive" thing in the game that needs a tweak. Why u cant sprint if you get shoot mid reload animation? Why u cant cancel it? i dont want parkour again and climb like a monkey thats not the point, i think the player needs a smoother movement.
man i realy want the m14 with like x4 scope an bipod
well it started
nice video
Thanks
yes yes yesssssssssssss they gonna fix the recoil on the lmgs
Looks like it
NOT PLAYING UNTIL PERFORMANCE IS FIXED
im gonna comment as someones whos just a casual but how the fuck does a Marine trained and whose life is in danger cant even hold his gun after running like 5 meters lmao I love this game its just too stupid the gun system
thats what you guys are excited about? thats it? for all the time Owi has been COMPLETELY neglecting adding functional new content to the game that adds more dynamic gameplay ie; towed artillery, better maps, more exciting objectives, the ability to dig our own trenches or foxhole? WHAT THE HELL???
They have to change gun play and fucking stamina thing
The guns feel fine. Seems like an over correction
It’s not going to be that significant, just fine tuning
Great to know I wont get punished for moving
@@Slay3Kilo you keep saying "not a return " but goals like " Making weapons feel more responsive" when all you have to do is crouch then shoot, at the moment , is NOT a good sign. With every little "refinement" to responsiveness and less sway we go , the more like CoD its going to feel .
ITS ALREADY TOO EASY to get a kill on ZERO stamina. Currently its a point WAIT click adventure , and this nerfing of the ICO is going to turn it back to a point and click .
First ICO iteration was more : Position , point , wait , wait , click.
You are jumping to the furthest conclusion. There’s a range that the adjusts can be within.
optimization? NEVER. THEY WON'T
The graphics in this game should protrait 200fps on most PCs, but even the highest settings of graphics look ugly and you play on 20 fps 😢
Get good
Give every rifle a scope option so it more fun playing anything else then USA. Does it break som kind of lore and how cares if so? i dont think elit russian soldiers running around with iron scope 2020+
Still waiting for a fix to TLF
Let my tanks and heavy vehicles go over the little rocks, stop HABS from glitching and not allowing people to spawn, and move the welcome to server notification to on a different part of my screen instead of on top of join Squad. Fix the stupid stuff that makes me turn off the game out of frustration then give us all the other stuff
I would like a nerf to pebbles
I feel like ico gave the game a real niche, and i hate to see games fail after they cater for low attention span niggas like HLL did.
i feel like ico has forced people to play differently, some of the tactics and teamwork with new people has been amazing and given me experiences you cannot get with any other multiplayer fps at the moment. i love how suppression and stamina is implemented
i really look forward to their balancing of weapons among the same type and their imminent buff for lmgs, i will say the ico has nerfed them into the ground, you almost see nobody taking a pkm or saw over a rpk or m27. i feel like suppression shouldnt be a primary weapon so if they dont buff them and make them better than rifles in more areas i feel like they should at least get an ammo bag
Appreciate it! Thank you for the nice comment!
Do you think kamdesh is the greatest map in modern combat video game history?
Almost positive the 6th bullet point was removing that map. 😂😂
@ No not kamdesh, maybe Narva, yea Narva is the worst
@@HaveSomeCommonSense narva is soo much fun
ICO only made is easier for armor, 10 seconds of sway before you can fire AT is insane. ICO was never about helping infantry, it’s for the 4 armor player per team who won’t help the infantry anyway. Armor isn’t even relevant in modern conflicts, squad is at its base an infantry game and needs to be viewed through the infantry’s eyes.
“Armor isn’t even relevant in modern conflicts” 😂😂😂
"Armor isn't even relative in modern military conflicts"

Double negative cancel out so "Armour is relevent"

far from that actually

ICO is terrible. There are way better ways to incentivize team play.. Nerfing the core mechanic of the game ( guns ) is the dumbest thing any game has ever done.
population of the game went up. look at how HLL is doing after their reverse ICO turned the game to cod

Hi
Hello
À comment for the algorithm.
the more they reduce the changes introduced with the ICO the better, hopefully it will restore the skill ceiling
There’s a higher floor and ceiling now, IMO
I am new to squad and I love it hopefully it stays the same I like the gunplay
It’s fine tuning, I don’t think it’s going to change that much!
Uuuh is the gameplay from the new update or what
Nope, not out yet.
@Slay3Kilo so what version or mod is it from?
Vanilla, 8.1
hi
Hello
Had 1000hrs before ICO and have barely played since because it destroyed the game and took away all the FUN this isn’t supposed to be a simulation
Plenty of folks have fun with the game as is. Just have to play differently.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ICO fanboys will have 0.001 KD again!!!! They will cry about "muh realism" again despite ICO being further from reality then CoD

Nice
To all the ICO haters. Players on servers with the ICO neutered are generally braindead, zero team cohesion too. Way better players and teamwork on servers with ICO enabled.
Causation =/= correlation.
@helidof9958 I don't think it's a coincidence dude
That goes for vanilla servers as well its literally a blueberry fiesta nowadays and does not compare to old squad.
They continue to slowly roll back all of the progress from the ICO. Very sad to see
It's not a roll back. 🙃
The faster the roll back, the better.

Why is this a big deal? Four of them were hosting servers that had the highest caliber players playing on them.
We have gone from being able to play against the best players in the world, to having squad leaders that do not know what a logi truck is.
