  • Framing is so expensive?! Here I show you how you can use simple baton and skirting or architraving to make an expensive looking frame for oils or acrylics. Easily adapted for glazing and pastels and watercolours also. Then how to use hand painting methods to start to explore the fun of finishing colours. I do this in more detail in earlier films, also mounting.

That method does mean you can work on it until you have exactly what you wish and save £$ !

This was great. frames are such a hassle I spend 10 times longer on the frame than my painting...🤣

Very nice. You know, I never really thought about how a frame was made. Yeah I looked at them to see what the structure looked like, but to watch one being created....... Very cool. It makes sense to have colors on the frame to bring the colors out even more on the painting. Our eyes and receptor cones sure are intricuite parts of the body. Excellent video. I enjoyed watching.

Thankyou for your lovely comment. Yes I was approached by a chap some year back saying due to my films he now runs a framing and mounting shop! :-) Lovely. Please spread the word on my channel?

This was very informative and you have created a lovely finish to the frame. It has inspired me to try making frames for my own paintings. Thank you for sharing.

That’s really nice! I have about a dozen paintings I should make frames for.

Certainly saves money and you then, hopefully, match colours perfectly to suite? :-)

@@faith6651 i hope I can someday. I don’t think there’s any wood in the small town I live in, so I’d have to go to a bigger town, and my husband used to drive me everywhere, but he died three years ago. But I could probably take a taxi.

    Are you using furniture polish?

A good wax furniture polish is fine over acrylics, yes.
