Back in the 70s and 80s in the US, bread pudding was extremely common to have as a dessert at home and in the restaurants. It's gone out of style now sadly. Loved all these quick recipes from ingredients in the house.
Modern day warning: make sure your peanut butter (or anything else) accessible to doggos does not contain xylitol. It is a natural,.low-carb sweetener that is safe for humans but deadly to dogs. Some manufacturers are now adding it broadly to foods and many people might not be aware.
For those of us who don't care for the taste/texture of marshmallow, it does a great job at hiding it! I would highly recommend a lil dark or milk chocolate drizzle on top.
I do love peanut butter!! I think I will make the peanut butter rice krispy treats and add red and green m&ms for a Christmas treat! Thank you for another great video.
I used to love the crunchy version as a kid but for a reason I can't remember I went off it in my teens. I don't think I've had it since and that was decades ago. This is making me want to try it again.
Hi Barry, In an old movie there was a landlady who saved the crusts of bread from lunch and made bread pudding from them for the evening meal. I save everything so I may have tossed the crusts on the bottom of the dish and the triangles on top for the peanut butter & jelly pudding. Jacques Mexico
You the man Barry. Been following for years now. Never gonna stop being a fan. I got into cooking with help from your videos and still enjoy it. Love seeing your content and your growth over the years. Keep it up boss for real👏🏾❤
Here's a tip I remember seeing on Alton Brown's old show Good Eats- If you're working on candy like those truffles or cookies like the ones you made here, use a metal pan to help them hold their shape better and set faster. Not only does the metal help pull the heat out of the food in the freezer faster, but you can also cool it in the freezer ahead of time so that it is already freezer cold to help whatever you're working on stay cool enough to hold its shape until it can fully set.
Peanut butter and Jam Bread pudding, not the UK/US fusion dish that has ever come to mind, but if it works, it works. Also noticed you are just 9K away from a Million subs, Congratulations.
OOOOH I love peanut butter, I buy it in 1kg jars. I can eat it by the heaping spoonful. OOh Always love PB Tip Rice Krispie square melt it in the microwave. Mum wouldn't make it often but my son grew up with them once I discoved microwave method.
Those Krispie treats look very close to something we call Scotcheroos in the US. The only real difference is mixing chocolate and butterscotch drops, melting them, and spreading that over the top instead of more peanut butter. It's like a Rice Krispie treat, only way better. 😊
Dont break your eggs with a knife or on a corner/edge! Break them on a flat surface will result in much less opportunity for shell fragments to get involved.
A little interesting one .. and is actually quite popular where i live ...Peanut butter is used as part of a meal called .. Kari-Kari which is a philippine favoriate and seems to be one of the most eaten meals like adobo which is the number one dish in Filipino culture.
It's quite a localized item, but "buckeyes". It's a staple in parts of northern central USA. basically a PB Ball dipped in chocolate. They're amazing if you're not put of peanut butter for a month after this one.
Absolutely love peanut butter 🥜 Will definitely be trying these 🤤😋 YUMMY!!!! Definitely a "whisk" worth taking 😂 I know they'll be delicious no matter what 😏👍
With about 100g more butter, you could absolutely put that PB fondue in a chocolate fountain. Might need to double the recipe to get the right volume, but yeah, you could do it.
In North America, jelly, jam and marmalade are three different things. Jelly: Made from fruit juice, jelly is clear and firm. It has a smooth texture and holds its shape well, making it easy to spread. Jam: Made from crushed or pureed fruit, jam has a thicker, chunkier texture compared to jelly. It includes both the juice and the flesh of the fruit, giving it a more robust flavor. Marmalade: Typically made from citrus fruits, marmalade includes pieces of the fruit peel, giving it a distinctive, slightly bitter taste. It's often made with oranges but can also be made with other citrus fruits like lemons or grapefruits.
@@mrbarrylewis Its super tasty! If you have ever had sunflower seeds its basically that. If you can find some you should give it a try! I found one that mixed in some unsweetened dark chocolate and one of my friends claimed they liked it more than Nutella.
Another really easy recipe to use up peanut butter is buckeyes! They're named after a nut from an American tree (the real nuts are poisonous), but they're essentially a peanut butter fudge balled up and then dipped mostly in chocolate. It's a common treat in Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania. Very similar to your truffles. Edit: Also, we also call it jam in the US, we only call it "jelly" if it's specifically made from fruit juice, most often grape juice.
I have a different recipe for peanut butter rice krispie squares: equal parts by volume peanut butter, corn syrup and packed brown sugar. Put in the microwave 30 seconds at a time until it can be mixed together thoroughly. Add rice krispies, enough to all get coated in the peanut butter mixture. Chill in the fridge. Optionally, melt chocolate, pour over top and chill.
The US has the following distinctions on the jelly/jam scale, (name - made with): Jelly - fruit juice Jam - crushed fruit Preserves - fruit chunks Conserves - whole fruit Marmalade - citrus fruit
Good recipes Barry. Not trying to be nosey, and I might've missed this in another video, but, why don't you use your other kitchen Barry? I thought it was done a while back.
Well i should get peanut butter last time when i eated peanut butter was like over 10 years ago when i was a little child and i dont remember the taste of peanut butter anymore:)
the truffles are basically Buckeyes. The difference is when you dip the peanut butter in the chocolate you leave a circle of peanut butter exposed so it looks like a buckeye. Also no pretzels needed.
I love peanut butter however, after watching all these I feel like I have had an overkill without even eating any lol. My mum used to make bread and butter pudding but she would add raisins in as well, haven't had it for years. Must give it a go, minus the peanut butter.
Hi I have been trying to get first view on one of your videos for about 2 years I think I finally did it on this one woo hoo keep them coming Barry they are fantastic
I buy the cheapest house brand of peanut butter as it keeps me from eating to much of it everyday. It's actually terrible but i am starting to enjoy it now. Such is life😂
I am not ashamed to admit I have much more than 2kg of peanutbutter in the house, but my husband eats it daily and we just re-stocked our pantry... sooooo yea
Missing a easy peanut sauce, great for pork or noodles and what not. 2/3 peanutbutter ( i like chuncky!) 1/3 milk or coconut milk. heat slowly. Ad some hot sauce and soysauce to taste and some water if it is too thick. Use it on whatever you like , Pork, grilled chicken, noodles like ramen, meatballs or fries! Don't be afraid to ad some other seasonings like a spash of Heinz or tomato paste ginger and so on!
Reminds me of back when I bought some rather large tins of tomatoes and asked for suggestions on the now rotting corpse of twitter of what to do with them, turned out, having lots of tomato-ey things gets a bit digestively awkward, well, it did for me at least....... :P
strange, i never gotten shell in with the eggs, maybe because i crack them on the countertop instead of a knife or the bowl , that way you dont fling shell pieces into the egg :)
Heat the jar of peanut butter in the microwave comes out easyer. Choc cake with fluffy peanut butter frosting Reese's peanut butter cups (Easyer is the buckeye # peanut butter soup peanut butter ice cream or and topping ng. You need another PB video
You should ideally only give dogs (especially small dogs) peanut butter that contains no salt, sugar, and palm oil, and that stuff contains all three. However, your dog, your choice for his health. 🙂
If you didn't go to a discount store here in Japan, those 3 jars of peanut butter would cost you over 35 usd here in Japan. If you went to a discount store, maybe half, still too expensive. I find the idea of having a lot of peanut butter in my cupboard to be a fantasy on the level of finding a unicorn, mate.
Chloe is going to be out-of-her-mind happy when she sees all you've done. Shame she'll have to skip the ganache stuff and the bread pudding because of the dairy.
Hi Barry, had to pause the video near the start to run to the kitchen to make a quick microwave peanut butter mug cake, it proved excellent company for the rest of the vid!! So what you are making near the end looks more like "Bread and Butter Pudding" - "Bread pudding" is a different beast altogether, like a stodgy brown cake, and if you haven't made it before, you absolutely need to, it's sooo delicious!

All those peanut butter recipes and no peanut butter buckeyes? Seriously? Shame on you!

Im allergic to nuts. So don't know why I'm watching this 🤣 just love watching your videos
Damn
hahaha, sorry about your allergies though
Depending on your sensitivity, you might be able to make these with WowButter or another seed butter.
I'm sure sunflower butter would work with these recipes as well.
I was actually about to say the same thing. 😂😂
My mom makes Buckeyes (peanut butter confections dipped in chocolate) every year for Christmas. A lot like your truffles, they are so good.
The second recipe reminds me of a buckeye. I never thought of adding pretzels to the outside of it.🎉
A thick layer of chocolate on the rice crispy treats would be perfect. The bottom of the cake tin made me think of that.
I think my favorite would be the cake & Rice Krispies squares! I’ll probably try & make those. Have a great week! 👍😋✌️💚
Peanut butter is awesome! Specially love it in brownies and lava cakes!
How exciting, you are so close to your first million.
Where I live, in Quebec, Canada we have an on recipe of Bread Pudding. The traditional one here is sooooo good❤❤❤❤
my stepmother ADORES peanut butter. its one of her essential food groups. needless to say, im sharing the recipes 😂
I made potato candy. It was good. With boli potato and iceing sugar and peanut butter
Been wanting to try that for ages!

My latest is the soft popcorn and white chocolate!
I'm not a huge sweet/dessert person, so would love to see some savoury recipes using peanut butter!

Peanut butter rice crispies, but use the chocolate Rice Krispie cereal. Amazing stuff.

Elvis's favourite sandwich was peanut butter, banana and bacon... That would probably make a very good bread pudding actually!
Cookies are our go to with peanut butter. It is a 1-1-1 ratio, one cup sugar, one cup pb, one egg

We do know about bread and butter pudding in South Africa. But we just call it bread pudding.
Must be from the years of being a British colony. 🇿🇦❤️
I would've crushed up the pretzels more finely. It seems those larger, broken chunks might cut one's mouth.
I’m really sad that I’m anaphylactic to peanuts! I will try all these recipes with cashew butter!

I loved the look of the cake and pudding. I am a little sad you did not try to do at least one savoury dish with it though :(
