My teacher at the university told us to watch this documantry by Forough and here I am. I don't know how to describe my feelings after this 22 minutes but all I can say is that it's so sad that Iranians don't know about their culture, thier cinema and their poets. It's so disappointing that these kind of arts are unknown to our own people. Thank you for putting English subtitle so that others can understand the words.
What a calming effect this film had. I loved it for a change. Modern cinematography with its flashiness and ultra clarity can be quite overwhelming sometimes. This film was sooo soothing. The opening frame was the most beautiful one, even though it introduced so called "ugliness". As a society we should be ashamed of ourselves. All we seem to care and obsess over are how things LOOK. Apart from this I am in awe of the intention with which this film is made. 'To ease the pain of the people seen in this film'. I think this is the highest tribute to the medium of cinema. What a beautiful gem of a film this is . 💎 Being a filmmaker myself this film means a lot to me.
Ohhhh God … ❤to see how life and dead living side by side … the beautify of life … to smile and feel joy at the same time to experience pain and fell tears ….. The message here is humanity. At the end of the day we all are human, we feel each others pain and joy and all of us are a mirror of the bigger picture …. The Universe and its Designer ❤❤❤️Mayer 21:27 peace of humanity 🙏
Thank you so much for uploading this! I don't speak Persian but the Iranian culture and history is fascinating to me, I love Forugh Farrokhzad's work and this is a masterpiece. I can't believe how unknown this is in the west. May Forugh Farrokhzad's soul be happy, she is a gift to this world.
This is a shocking g reality that is tucked away in most cultures. Thank you for making this films. These children and adults have so much sadness and pain in their bodies but more so probably from us who shun them for what is no fault of their. God show mercy and help them.
Thank you so much for uploading such a masterpiece. I'm short of words, there is so much to learn from it. There is poetry, love, pain, happiness and finally hope. There is definition of beauty and ugliness given by those who see things differently. Amazing work.
it's about a leper colony, a group of people isolated from others because they have a contagious disease of leprosy. only the doctors in leprosy clinics interact wit them, helping them to heal and have physical therapy from common symptoms of leprosy, like stiff, curled fingers. the film is meant otshow how even as they suffer, become permenantly disabled, and are fatally deformed- they find joy, community, and purpose in their lives. They take care of their families, they particpate in religious prayers and traditions, they play games, they have parties, the woman in one scene even puts on kohl. between the scenes of these people, it's interspersed with poetry in the traditional Persian style, where it makes abstract illusions to nature and addresses God. Basically, the documentary is showing that even though they live with such a dangerous and disabling disease, they create meaning in their lives.
