- With our G81 M3 Touring now at full 'Evolve CS' spec and our G87 M2 at full 'Evolve CSL' spec it was time to put them both to the test, and what better way to do that than to head to Germany!
We meet up with our friends @mgcharoudin and @AutoTopnl who push the cars to their limits on the Nürburgring and the Autobahn to find out what they think of them both, and if there's anything else we can do to make them even better.

Bro was getting thrown around like crazy in the touring 😂. Seats definitely play a major role here as Imran said at the beginning of the lap.
The buckets are 100% necessary, they’re really comfortable too
For a car that would be seeing more regular track use 100% agree. As a daily the comfort seats are great though

Great vid! I love Misha as well. I don't see anyone doing it but quick FYI, you can remove the head rest on the carbon buckets to allow more room for the helmet. It's a quick job and is shown on 'BMW M' UA-cam channel entitled, "HOW TO PREPARE YOUR BMW M MODEL FOR THE RACE TRACK".

M2 seemed so fast. Imran seemed to get shaken a lot in the M2 whereas the M3 smoothed the ride. More bumpy than shaky? Maybe those seats had something to do with it. Looked far more comfortable in the M3.

I went to the nurburgring a couple of weeks back and had a passenger lap in a get speed g80 m3 ring taxi I was blown away by the speed it can corner , it was stock apart from the pads
You guys need to open a shop here in the USA 💯 i would put my money down for that project 💪

Imran looking like he's having a blast on the 'Ring. That's awesome. As a new owner of an LCI F97 I'm gonna need you to do some suspension work on those next. Something beyond the MSS kit. Like could you port the suspension tuning to it as well. Or it just too chonky. Please and thank you.

any reason you removed the TRE body kit on the M2 before going to the ring?
A customer wanted to buy it so we sold it to him. Our car was always going to have a full Alpha N kit which will happen over the next few weeks

nice car, but does anyone think it doesn't sound like a race car? engine sound is really weird with the S58?
Run a pass filter over the mic audio so we don't get ear-molested. It's well set up for your speaking because it's more reserved but some people speak loudly and it does not jive well with your setup. :)
so the CSL steering software fixes the M2's terrible feel??

I like both the cars but how in the world they are close to the same weight I cannot grasp
1730kg for the G87 M2 and 1865kg for the G81 M3 (as standard, we’ve removed about 20kg).
A G82 M4 weighs about 50kg more than an M2.
The M2 is the lightest of the bunch (other than M4 CSL) but it’s still a heavy thing.
@@EvolveAutomotive any idea as to why this is? The only thing I can figure is BMW doesn’t want the M2 stepping on the toes of its flagship performance car, the M4. Smaller car, lighter car, +power mods *should* = big send. Anyhoo, curious to see your aero solution.. Kudos

It’s where these cars really start to shine, incredible how stable they are at 170mph+
I think both cars would do better with coilovers on track, but I guess you're trying to keep a street biased setup so HAS kits are the way to go.
Yes of course something like a Bilstein coilover would be more suited to track use but these are primarily road cars.
Man, if the Autobahn existed in the U.S., lots of people would get killed because everyone in the U.S. hogs the left lane. Especially in Dallas area.
It wouldn’t work in the U.K. either :( People just don’t have the correct driving discipline for it to work.

The G81/G80/G82 handles better because it’s variable 4 wheel dive the M2 is RWD.
I won't gloat but Imran I did say to you on Linkedin the M2 was too heavy. These are Motorsport Division cars, not a BMW M240i/M140i; E30 M3 won over 1000 races/rallies that's the bar they are measured against...

Misha said it’s amazing as a road car, just needs some work for high speed track use. We’ll be back with a few tweaks to get that front end more planted.
