    "Mother cries"
Who sat and watched my infant head, when sleeping on my cradle bed, and tears of sweet affection shed, my mother.
When pain and sickness made me cry, who gazed upon my heavy eye, and wept for fear that i should die,
    my mother.

Listening with good studio headphones makes you realize how well the instruments are played to perfection. And the singer's voice is in the right tone and giving the theme a loneliness and almost despair. At 4:00 it becomes thunderous but always contained. Great bass line.I love how hypnotic this piece sounds.

I think Jansen is such an underrated drummer. I think it's absolutely amazing how much he can do with such a small kit sometimes. His drum roll skills are off the charts in my opinion. Very technical, precise and powerful.

My life reached one of its many low points years ago. In my loneliness and despair I remember how much I came back to this song to listen to it on repeat, because this song voiced my feelings and my mood and everything perfectly. I held on to life because of that most essential and irrational of human characteristics, hope. Hope that things would eventually get better. Jansen and his songs were a lifeline in the miserable storm that life can be to me.
