Suzanne's rhythmic speaking voice on Dream is absolutely mesmerising, makes me feel lucky to be one of the 80s kids who discovered this band of a lifetime..👏
Amazing video. It's a fantastic to see Jansen on drums. One of the best in the business and he brings a more subtle sound to the rhythm section than Brain McGee. Not say that both are brilliant drummers. That's what i love about the 80's. So many musician collaborations.
Steve Jansen was, at the time, one of the few pro British drummers able and willing to play (well) to a click track, as he does here. Most rejected the idea out of hand, especially live. But it was, and is, entirely possible to groove brilliantly to a click, as funk bands in the USA had been doing for a while.
Though it's barbaric to cut "Duel" off right where the best part of the song starts, this is a brilliant performance. Derek Forbes was such a lucky pull for Propaganda. Whatever he does, it's always outstanding.
This is great! Thanks! Cool to hear their other stuff. I only really knew Dr. Mabuse, before this. Came here while on a Forbsee tour. Gotta love those Simmons E drums! I remember when they were all the rage. One Of Our Submarines anyone? Plus countless other songs...
A great upload. It was a shame The Tube recorded sound in mono. All those marvellous 1980s performances with not a stereo mix between them. The band sounds a little under-rehearsed and neither of the singers has natural charisma or stage confidence. They were more of a studio creation, none the worse for it on their first album.
@@citizencairn5230 I suspect that Claudia Brücken and Susanne Freytag would happily admit to being more comfortable in a recording studio than on stage, and that is no criticism of either.
Best bass player in the world, big Dan, Derek Forbes from Simple Minds. 🍻😀
I searched for Derek Forbes and ended up here...and here he was..when Simple Minds were Simple Minds❤️

Fantastic and 'A Secret Wish' is still a masterpiece that's totally stood the test of time.
Totally agree

I was under the impression that Michael Mertens was the original drummer?
Now, I must question everything that I thought I knew! Heh heh.
Of course, Jansen's brother, David Sylvian, had a role on P-machinery (jazzy guitar riff and was slated to produce Secret Wish)
Un des super groupe indémodable des mélodies magnifiques ça passe dans le temps génial
Maravilloso concierto ......................... saludos de Perú 💋💖🌹💥✨✔😎👍...
Perfect performance, specially in Duel.
Saw them live back then in Zürich, it was amazing how they could bring the songs from the studio album to the stage, absolutely pro.
Brilliant. Almost exactly how I remember them at Rock City, Nottingham, back in the day.
Wow che Pezzo !
Voce Originale !
Grandi !
Pretty good live band and vocals.
Great performance of one of the best and most artistic bands of the eighties
Really? When worked Talking Heada, Cocteau Twins, Yello, Ultavox The Smuths and many other Artistic band
Großartig, dass Claudia Brücken auch bei "Dream within a dream" einen kurzen Gesangspart hat.
Derek Forbes najlepszy basista - super że grał w Propagandzie
After watching this i will look for their greatest hits cd.
You can hear it's all live too, great performance

I loved Bliss intro
Me too
Its art of noise style
@@martin_minimalwave Not just the style. Sounds like they just resampled Close to the Edit and rearranged it! I love it.
Lovely stuff. Thanks.
Suzanne freytag was pretty!... the Tube Frozen Faces is on UA-cam and Forbes bass is stunning, I liked that white Vigier he had

Cool, das fehlt mir noch, willste das vielleicht loswerden? ;-)

00:11:18 dancing girls :) thanks for uploading.
Intro song sounds very "Art of Noise"….
Trevor Horn created the sound of Propaganda so there is more than a passing resemblance.
On ZTT records same as franky goes to Hollywood
Trevor was busy with Frankie, so the sound of Propaganda was largely down to Steve Lipson and Andy Richards (with help from the band of course)
Dr Mabuse? I guess..
I'm pretty sure he meant the TV show intro music, and he's right. Guess they used a Fairlight too, and used the built in samples.
What a thin Dörper he was then
Where's Steve Talking Drum Jansen...?
THERE HE IS........05.20 - 05.24
ua-cam.com/video/2ZP41pyO51k/v-deo.html Incredible glockenspiel solo 👏👌
What year was this?
I think 1985
This was recorded during their Outside World tour, in '85.
She always looked like she had a rough night
The coolnes of the eighties😉

This is a show called Bliss though. 🤷🏻♂️
"neither of the singers has natural charisma or stage confidence...." In your opinion. Nonsense

@@musicandfilms9956 Claudia live is a beauty to hear
Suzzane Freytag pretty girl. Beautiful voice. Beautiful stylistics.
Claudia Brucklen with poor voice. Don't pretty girl.
Easy for you to say
You're grotesque. Claudia is splendid and has an exceptional voice. Go to sleep.
Claudia's voice has a tone like no other .. gorgeous.
Fool you can't even spell Suzanne's name correctly
suzanne talks while claudia sings... ducon !
Claudia 🥰
Derek ''Mullet' Forbes was too good for this mob.
