Long time Knight of Apollo here. Love your videos and commentary. Like you said, I would love to see more massive Cav on Cav battles! Like an entire army of Rohirrim vs an evil faction Cavalry battle. Ask your subscribers if they can make that happen! Cheers!
Hi there! Something i'd really like to see in third age is a historical battle series with reversed roles of good and bad, for example: Helm's Deep Uruks defend, Rohan attacks, Rhun's cavalry come to save the defenders and trolls come instead of Ents. At Minas Tirith you have orcs defending agains't the hordes of Gondor, with rhunic cav coming instead of rohan and elven archer cav instead of Mumakils, instead of the ghost army coming to save gondor you have a swarm of nazgûls/black nümenorians/mumakils coming as the last ditch effort to save the defenders. I think it would be really fun to see!!!!!
The names you mentioned for the Blue Wizards were merely translations of their names among the Easterlings, as their real names were Alatar and Pallando.
+Killer Whale Minecraft Sam: You were the Ring barer!!! It was said you would destroy Sauron, not join him!!! Bring life to Middle Earth, not leave it in darkness!!! Frodo: No Sam!!! Sam: You were my brother Mr. Frodo. I loved you!!! Frodo: Oh Sam.
they were mentioned in the first hobbit movie. They were also mentioned a few times in Shadow of Mordor but most might have missed it, they were talked about in the stories en descriptions you got when finding the collectibles.
The blue wizards are in the book, but not the movie, they weren't allowed to be mentioned in the movies because peter jackson only had the rights to the lord of the rings trilogy (and then the hobbit book) the blue wizards are mostly mentioned (albeit not that much) in the silmarillion and unfinished tales, which is why in the movies when asked Gandalf cant recall there names.
why do you think that? lol no i dont play minecraft.. i play totalwar, i like strategy, and no im not a virgin lol, dont know why id give you that impression,...
firstly... i didnt even make this map, my friend kuroguro did, and he did a good job on it. secondly i think i made about 3 maps in total in this game in my life, maybe 4... so i dont see your point ^^ and thirdly.... im studying veideogames for a proffession... so making mods is a walk in the park. not as time consuming for me unless i forget to save somewhere when it crashes... :I you just seem like haters to me tbh... ^^
The two blue wizards actually came with Gandalf, Sarauman and Radagast in 1000 third age when sauron finally started rising up again after his fuck up of epic proportions in the war of the last alliance. They did go to the east indeed (with saruman coming with them at the beginning) and their fates from that point on are unclear, but they most certainly weren't in rhun trying to prevent sauron from complitely subjugating the easterlings in the second age(they already served him willingly). Sauron and the last remaining balrog were probably the only ainur who were left in middle earth in the second age and the first millenium of the third age. The names f the two blues were Alatar and Palando later known as Morinehtar and Rómestámo.
It's a misty Mountain settlement in DAC , of course without snow, old dwarven fortress, named Zagh Kala. And if you play dwarves often you attack or defend this place, sometimes to invasions.
Rhun could have won this one. They had two separate halberdier units they sacrificed down on the main path for no reason. And the clan guard they left to get surrounded on the other side. If they had left the units for the final stand the battle would have been a lot closer. Also using their catapults more effectively could have changed the outcome.
Wow, I remember about a year or two ago first finding this channel I believe on Gondor or Mordor campaign, I'm not sure how big the channel was at the time but looking back this has come far. Me and my friend love total war games and I just heard him talking about this channel recently and I asked him if it was this specific one, we now play some of our own little custom games together thanks to this. Thanks Pixel!
it was my clan guard haha, actually i wanted to retreat them and then i just wanted to make a small last stand in the ring. so it was totally on purpose, a total waste, that's cost me a lot after that as you could see ahaha
Pixelated Apollo, the wizards names were Alatar (after-comer) and Pallando, (far or distant) or Morinehtar (Darkness-slayer) and Rómestámo. (East-Helper) (as you said).
Blue wizards names are Pallando and Alatar, they went to the east and weakened the forces of Mordor there to stop a huge army of Easterling and Haradrim charging to Mordors aid.
It's weird how the defenders retreated because they did a lot more damage to the attackers at the outer defenses pound for pound. Maybe they just thought it was too unfair for the attackers (even if the balance bar didn't agree) and decided to give ground so it would be a fairer fight? Or maybe the wizards were working with Sauron the whole time!!!
we ran out of ammunition, so our men would have just been targetted by their arti there, we were forced to withdraw, also we prefer to use mutliple parts of the settlements, if we killed the attackers there somehow, it would not have resulted in an epic standoff for the main square... also at the square me and kuro were able to support eachother and use his 2 archers that we held there in reserve.
Synn DarkCloud Ah, should've realized you were running low when the crossbows got committed to melee. I noticed the enemy had a lot of elite troops left towards the end. Did you feel like you used too much ammo on their more expendable troops, or the right amount? Also, about the change of scenery-there were other secondary chokepoints that you could've gone to before reaching the town center. Any reason in particular why you didn't put up some defense there? Lastly do you think your team could've conducted the opening cav battle more effectively, and would that've made a big difference in your opinion? I'm not critiquing (Last I checked I was only good at fighting AI. Yes it's that bad.) I'm just curious about what your strategies and thought processes were mid-battle.
in the cav it was glitching alot due to cav being glitch sometimes, due to that it made it frustrating to do cycle charges not to mention all the units were completely surrounded (this is the cav battle) so i just took whatever opportunities showed themselves such as targeting archers etc... if we had held the secondary chokepoints there wouldve been no point as we wouldnt have been fighting together anymore, rather separate battles, which usulay is never good as the defenders, therefore the 2 positions of note for us were the first chokepoint and the final chokepoint, if we withdrew abit earlier and had used the catapult at better moments the battle could have gone much better . either way both sides played well, it was a gg xD
I am a huge fan of Alatar and Pallando, so here is my theorie: They travelled east and persuade many of the soldiers of Rhun and Khand to betray Sauron. They had some kind of political battle going on and in the end they fought in a great battle against Saurons Haradrim and Rhun-soldiers, they were defeated but they did create huge losses for Sauron. They may have died but no one knows. Obviously they experienced many adventures in their time in the east. You can expand the storyline at will. Please, TV-Show PLEASE!
Rhun where allies of Mordor when Alatar and Pallando, aka the blue wizards arrived. Their job was to make the easterlings rebel against the will of Sauron. So to say it was before they where allies is false. The east has alway been favorable of Morgoth and his servants. And the greater evil they might have fought could be Ungoliant. We really dont know what happened to her. Her hunger supposedly made her devour herself but it has never been confirmed. And since she most likely would have killed Morgoth, if not for his balrogs, i think it is safe to say she is stronger then Sauron.
The blue wizards actually failed in the east then went west and fought against gundabad but they left middle earth with the third wave of elves which was 1 wave before the wave when Gandalf and frodo left.
Yep Apollo and Jackie fish are Te blue wizards. Jackie: "dude... Sauron beat us..." Apollo: *waves hand dismissively* "we beat a much more evil force. Jackie: *confused* what do you mean? APOLLO: *devilish grin* just follow my lead my young apprentice
If I was in that situation, I probably would have charged out the wizards when it looks like they were going to break though and tried to run down the witch king. Still, awesome battle!
I love that you bring lore (secretly i think Tolkien was a seer that saw things from another world), and paladin bob is awesome for creating these maps. I would love to join one of your battles.
To be honest you didn't have in the vote the most plausible vote for me; that they simply created followings among the Easterlings, which most likely grew in the Fourth Age, and probably allied themselves with the Reunited Kingdom of Gondor and Arnor.
You should play the siege of erebor by rhun and other orcs against dale and dwarves. It takes place during the war of the ring and was vital for the forces of good to win
+Gr1nd0r He is long dead, slain by Ecthelion of the Fountain, and as I remember there were only 7 Balrogs. Also, Sauron/ Gorthaur was the most powerful of Melkor's servants of old.
Sly Crafter No. Ecthelion of the Fountain also slew Gothmog, and others were slain, so the number of living Balrogs is not known. But it is 5 maximum, and that not very likely.
50:24....that catapult saved quite a few rhunic lives by absorbing those javies
Long time Knight of Apollo here. Love your videos and commentary. Like you said, I would love to see more massive Cav on Cav battles! Like an entire army of Rohirrim vs an evil faction Cavalry battle. Ask your subscribers if they can make that happen! Cheers!

yes that would have been funny
Awesome angle at 56:48 and the few coming moments
Them videos always make my day.
I upvoted for not annoying me with intro and saying 'bolts' when referring to crossbows :} Great job.
The names you mentioned for the Blue Wizards were merely translations of their names among the Easterlings, as their real names were Alatar and Pallando.
Your name says Gandalf yet your picture is of Saruman.
+Phil Prangnell nooo.....it is gandalf, look closer
Alright go to the picture And compare with them. See the differents
+Phil Prangnell that's gandalf the white
It is most certainly Gandalf, I would know as I have watched those movies many times and it IS my profile picture...
44:09 That one Muhad camel rider got fucked so bad. He reminded me of the one Helmingas from the Hornburg Siege.
Was waiting on this hold morning
Yes!
Another third age video!
33:53 it's over Mordor, we have the high ground!!!!!!
+Killer Whale Minecraft 😂😂😂😂😂😂

You say justice every single video but i love you sooooooooo much

Very good. The blue wizards are always a mystery that Tolkien left up to mystery which he did quite a bit 😞
Quite an unnecessary line that, stereotyping grey people as forgetful...
+gandalfthegreatestwizard shut up
Jacob Kelly It was a joke about what Peter Jackson wrote in the script... how did you not get that?
Saruman: "Rods of the five wizards". There are 3 seen in the movie. The 2 blue wizards were not, but are mentioned.
i luv ur third age battles
As always, never fail to amuse us :D
I always watch your videos keep it up
The ruins layout is zagh kala almost identically just desert version. Looks cool.
45:06
it looks like these Orks trying to sneak up on him..... Assasinscreed 3rd Age

This map is originally a Goblin fortress in misty mountains in Divide and Conquer, which they took from dwarfs, and its pretty nicely remade :D

49:29. This is my favorite part of the video
I'm seriously digging these lore-heavy Tolkienverse battles. Keep 'em coming!
finnally one good epic siege on Third Age! Thanks man!
Blue wizards names are Pallando and Alatar, they went to the east and weakened the forces of Mordor there to stop a huge army of Easterling and Haradrim charging to Mordors aid.
Great scenario for the forgotten blue wizards
"The defenders are at 69%, Giggity" -Apollo 2016
man when he found the witch king in the battle I was like "YES THE DEFENDERS WILL WIN FOR ONCE" but then he ran.
Thank YOU for promoting Med 2 and it's mods and not jumping on the Warhammer band wagon like a CA sycophant.
I lov ju widios Pixelated Apollo :)
no worries pixel they even said fire with archers its not just a gun thing.
Your shirt looks soooo cool
This one was amazing !!!!
great vid love it
I came back to this episode for the music
Truly incredible.

Alatar and Palando (I think that's how it's spelt but probably not) are the names of the wizards in case anyone was wondering.
Great video
The defender could've won, I think. It felt like everything went to hell once he left the primary defensive positions.
SPOILERS come on man
Jeez stop spoiling videos in the comments.
And lost the catapult
dude spoiling is really unsexy
" Skins not working" actually just a unit of sliver surfers. Little did you know, Mordor is breeding more than just orcs.

wonderful battle
The retainers have a medieval look
nothing can defeat the mighty mauntain DEW!
Pixie you are not cool! YOU ARE TOATLY AMAZING
I know about the Two Blue Wizards! I feel smart today :D
Muhad beastmasters are very underrated, I had a Unit 5 killing a whole unit of heavy cav bodyguards(arnor), 21 of them .
for the defender it's win or die ...
*defenders
Isn't it always?
28:50 you don't have to make lame excuses Apollo just admit it, you took a screen shot.
If I am not mistaken that is the Zagh Kala map from Divide and Conquer but with an eastern feel.
waking up to pixe voice awesome!
Apollo you are close to 200 k subs
19:41, Actually, cave trolls could withstand sunlight under saurons power. ( I think they mention it in the books)
You are correct my friend but the only way they survive is if souron summons his dark clouds
Been wondering, what is the beginning music that plays, the choir is awesome
You know, come to think of it, I've heard it somewhere.
It's a Meme You Dip Pray Tell
Gandalf talked about all the Wizards in hobbit
with massive battels like this i increase the speed
The blue wizards actually failed in the east then went west and fought against gundabad but they left middle earth with the third wave of elves which was 1 wave before the wave when Gandalf and frodo left.
this map reminds me of shadow of the colossus, man. Like, that level with the giant bird-thing, the 13th colossus
remember when apollo used to upload med 2 siege replays...? :( where have the good days gone
Goddamit, is there a PA battle where Rhûn win? They're my favourite faction but they seem to always be at a disadvantage.
Witch king is busy, Mordor send him everywhere.
i love third age for me its the best total war game👌hello apollo play more often
Yep Apollo and Jackie fish are Te blue wizards.
Jackie: "dude... Sauron beat us..."
Apollo: *waves hand dismissively* "we beat a much more evil force.
Jackie: *confused* what do you mean?
APOLLO: *devilish grin* just follow my lead my young apprentice
If I was in that situation, I probably would have charged out the wizards when it looks like they were going to break though and tried to run down the witch king. Still, awesome battle!
There are two kinds of trolls in this world: Fictional Trolls and Internet Trolls
I knew the wizards from Battle For middle earth 2 c:
at the end pixie tarted to speak super fast lel
You should do a siege of Helms deep but with a spin on it by making the defenders from the evil factions and the attackers from the good guy factions
You should play the siege of erebor by rhun and other orcs against dale and dwarves. It takes place during the war of the ring and was vital for the forces of good to win
Wait for it
Silver surfers nice xD Someone please give those poor guys some textures.
your a sick guy :)
Who will give them textures though?
I shall start a gofundme for them
Drunken Beaver What?
GeorgeUsername0151 he's a drunken beaver, be proud he can type. Be REALLY proud it's proper English.
Great commentating
Really bummed out man lost one of my classes thanks for cheering me up though really, really, love these battles man.
The problem is that even though the defenders have fortifications, three armies with equal cash versus two with equal cash just isn't fair.
it's a premade battle, and money isn't fair for every faction
Oh, I didn't think it was a pre-made. I thought it was just them having fun with lore and a cool map. Lol, shows what I know.
What is the song that plays at the beginning? Sounds very familiar.
very nice battle
I read in a fact thing that the two blue wizards were sent to slow down sarons army and weaken it but were killed in doing so
:) love your vids
I think if the defender had bought infantry instead of the catapults and if they had not wasted that one guard unit they would have won
NOTICE ME APOLLO
Do a artillery shot montage! Like so Apollo can see
Yes from the future
@@theuntamed3214 agreement further from the future
Well is you count Morgoth then yes there is a force greater and darker than the big S. but Morgoth was thrown into the void by the valar.
Don't forget about Gothmog, he is at least 5x scarier than Sauron and his army consists solely on hundreds of Balrogs
+Gr1nd0r He is long dead, slain by Ecthelion of the Fountain, and as I remember there were only 7 Balrogs. Also, Sauron/ Gorthaur was the most powerful of Melkor's servants of old.
+gandalfthegreatestwizard would it be six now? Gandalf kills one
Sly Crafter No. Ecthelion of the Fountain also slew Gothmog, and others were slain, so the number of living Balrogs is not known. But it is 5 maximum, and that not very likely.
It 0 now, the other died before. I think. Haven't read the lore in a while.
Really enjoyable slugfest.
Rhun Vs Mordor: Grabs popcorn.
