I absolutely love goya champuru! Love all the regional foods of Japan you have been demonstrating, but Okinawa has a special place in my heart. I hope you’ll show an Okinawa soba recipe some time!

Thank you! You like Okinawa! Actually I’ve never make an Okinawa soba, but I’ll try an Okinawa soba in the future! Thank you for your request as well.

There's something about these thin sliced japanese/korean pork, man. They look absolutely delicious! The dish looks great!

    Ohayo gozaimasu Ryusei!
Are there any recipes where the goyu is pickled? Something that I like to do is finely slice a large onion in one or two millimeter thick slices with a mandolin slicer. I then add 45ml of mirin and 45ml of rice vinegar to the sliced onion and keep it in the refrigerator over night. The onion flavor is sweet and sour with a very crunchy texture. I wonder if goya might be good prepared this way too. I am going to a big ethnic grocery store this weekend and if I can buy goya I will try it and let you know how it tastes. Go chiso sama deshita!

Sorry just now I don’t have a recipe. But I’ll make it near future and let you know. That recipe is good and so healthy. Yes, please try it and I hope you enjoy Goya champuru!

This particular dish looks like it has a couple of advantages. 1. All of the ingredients are generally available through an "asian market" of sufficient size (the bitter melon might be the hardest one, considering there are many varieties). 2. It is relatively simple to put together, and 3. It is friendly to many types of diets, most notably there isn't anything that would affect blood sugar.

Thank you! Actually I’ve never been to Asian market in your country, so this information is really helpful. Yes, this simple dish is good for busy day!

@@kyodokan.japanese.cuisine so bitter melon (let’s call it the prickly one, to distinguish between the smooth one) is also available as Karela on Indian cuisine should be easier to locate this way. I should have everything to make this tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

I've never seen the smooth one. That's good. I hope you enjoy it. You're welcome! Thanks for your comment too.
