So what do you think of the new filming style? Like the timelapses? Preferred it when I talked as I did it? Always after feedback folks!

I like the new filming style, I think you can talk as you do it as well.
As far as efficiency goes you probably don’t have to timelapse and then stop and reiterate everything you’ve just done right after. It’s almost like two steps forward one step back information wise.
Overall though definitely like the new steps you’re taking

I liked the time lapse with the lovely music. It was a nice contrast to the subject matter. A red under lighting with some airbrushing might be nice to make it look like the blood pools are glowing from within. Great job so far. Looking forward to seeing the resin.

No matter how many times I try to take a razor blade to foam, it never comes out even 25% as good looking as yours. And you do it in minutes. Its amazing.

a small suggestion for texturing foam to give a very deep stone texture. Also works really well you make deep pits in foam. Use a chip brush or smaller for control and get some acetone. WARNING!!! this will EAT the foam fast so using it in moderation is key. also wear a breathing app. and in a well ventilated area... if you have birds as pets the fumes will kill them so make sure you use ventilation. outside is best. I suggest using a practice piece of foam each time because different foams have different density and it varies per each application. This video series is amazing. Great creative mind.

As usual a fantastic video. I especially liked the time lapse as I am a more visual type of learner. I am interested to see how it turns out as for some reason I fell the main skull rock needs more visual punch and the horns need runes, probably seen to many films. I wish I had 1/2 you skills But after 40 years or so of simply model making, my limited skill in diorama making is improving thanks to your tutorials.

  • @johntailby74

I think you under did that altar stone. I thought you were going to make an elevated platform over the blood pool. you could have made that pillar out of that square of foam cut it with 45 degree ends then cut steps into the top side. then the piece of foam out cut out to make the blood pool could have been used to make a posing platform.
I like the time lapse approach.
