Drew talked about Java Island while pointing to Sumatra Island : Bruh.
To be honest Indonesia's volcanoes are more threatening than venomous animals.
But do venomous animals give you fertile soil? I don't think so
I thought I was the only one who noticed that
Lol yeah I was gonna have to mention it if no one else had.
Are you Indonesian? I've always wanted to visit. It looks so cool
The map didn’t count French people as a venomous animal, so it seems like there are less than there actually are
Japan have a surprisingly diverse geography, they even technically has a mini desert
There are a lot of countries like that, The US, India, China, but from a country that's basically just islands...
Where
Here's the award for switching the has and have 🏆
It's a man made mini desert in detective conan city
@@themorningguy906 Heard of Tottori Sand Dunes? They are natural and around 35km squared in area.
8:48 The GTA games are developed by Rockstar North which is based in Scotland meaning the games are British even if Rockstar itself is American
That makes it still american
@@jaykeith526 no
@@jaykeith526 No it doesn't
2:42 MeSHico is old spanish, were the X was pronounced as SH but that later changed to the J sound we have today. Same happens with Don Quijote (aka Don Quixote)
I think it's still the standard pronunciation in Portugese
@@noefillon1749 It's, indeed. In Portuguese we pronounce it like MeSHico and QuiSHote.
there is no old spanish, but castillian, and I dont think the X sound exists in Castillian language.
@@Luzitanium same thing, also known as medieval castilian and of course the sound exists, i.e. xilófono
The maps includes Portugal and Galicia (northwest Spain), where galician (galego) is spoken... GALAICO-PORTUGUÉS is the root language
Bug Fables actually made quite the splash when it came out, at least in the Nintendo-Sphere. It's most notable for being a spiritual successor to the Paper Mario series and it's more RPGy beginnings (in particular the first 2 games, which are quite revered).
Bruh
How bro know this
@@pcbloxnews how you no know this? .~.
I've bought it but haven't played it yet. Huge Paper Mario fan here lol
Bug Fables is great. It's basically just Paper Mario TTYD, but with... bugs. As in characaters
1:23 Drew: "or maybe just Java"
Also Drew: points to Sumatra
Was hoping someone mentioned that 😂 (else I would).
7:26 Because Siam (Thailand) was sandwiched between Between British Burma and French Indochina, the Siamese made a deal for their kingdom to be a neutral zone between the two colonial rivals.
"Territorial conflict in the Indochinese peninsula for the expansion of France, led to the Franco-Siamese war of 1893. French authorities used border disputes ... to provoke a crisis. French gunboats appeared at Bangkok, and demanded the cession of Lao territories east of the Mekong. King Chulalongkorn appealed to the British, but the British minister advised the King to settle on whatever terms he could get from the French. Britain's only actual gesture was an agreement with France guaranteeing the integrity of the rest of Siam. Siam ceded it's claim on the Shan region in Burma and ceded Laos to France. (Although Siam lost a third of it's territory, acting as a buffer zone between the two colonial superpowers preserved its independence)". Always nice to make a "deal" after someone invades you haha
The best part about venomous animals in Canada is that half of them give you an audible warning before attacking you (rattlesnakes). The other two are the Black Widow spider and the Asian giant hornet. Yes, there's all of four venomous animals in Canada, and one isn't even native to North America.
Never before heard of any of these from Canada. Black widow is from Australia, asian hornet i assume is Asian, rattlesnakes r found in sand deserts i know. How did any of them get to Canada?
Once I was hiking over some rocks near a stream in the American Southwest. It was a really hot day. I stepped of a large boulder and when I looked down I realized that my foot was an inch away from a rattlesnake. It was really lethargic from the heat. I quickly jumped onto another boulder. Moral of the story is look where you step and don't always count on a rattlesnake giving you waring before it bites.
Venomous animals warning you before attacking sounds so Canadian. "Eh, excuse me, sorry, please don't come any closer or I'll have to, eh, bite you. Sorry."
@@frustationoverloaded5976black widows are north American and are literally everywhere redbacked spiders are the Aussie ones and the 2 are pretty closely related as far as I understand also there's a European black widow and I guess theres a type of widow on every continent and rattlesnakes are everywhere not just the desert ive seen them from Florida to Michigan and from the carolinas to California and apparently theres some as far south as Argentina but yeah Asian hornet is exactly what it says on the tin I'm more curious as to which rattles theyve got in Canada we've got several species here in colorado but the common ones are prairie rattlers I think they're the biggest ones here too btw sorry about the long reply
@@zZWolfyZz my bad then, but i never heard of rattle snakes in canada. I heard about deadly goose there, and supposedly they r the deadliest creatures there.
The "special thing" about the French Guyana border with Brazil is related to various traffics that take place over that border that are obviously way harder to pull off when embarking for the French mainland.
But I'm not so sure the visa is useful anyway as the borders are basically impossible to control. The rivers that make French Guiana's borders are basically highways where hundreds of little boats cross every day.
They put permanent police controls on the roads that lead to the borders, a bit further away from it, but it's still possible to bypass them by going a bit through the forest for some kilometers
youre smoking crack if you think european drugs come from the Brazilian Amazon, from a commercial point of view, there are way better options
@@michaelgomes4626 Some of it indeed does. Several kg of drugs (coc*ine mostly) are estimated to be taken into each of the 2 planes that go to France from FG every day.
@@michaelgomes4626 The main issue is related to Brazilian gold prospecters coming to illegally mine in French Guyana (and taking the gold back to Brazil), but drugs are indeed a significant issue, with 1.5 tons of drugs seized in total by the French Guyana customs in 2022 (which is about 1.5% of all drugs seized by French customs). Nobody implied that all drugs in Europe come through there, in fact nobody even mentionned drugs before you did.
Other issues include weapons trafficking and human trafficking.
Panama is a country of culture, their highest rated game is a great indie, made in the vain of Paper Mario. You can't get better than that.
It’s called the connector of 2 worlds for a reason
I mean Bug Fables was made by 3 dudes From Panamá so there is some national biase.
Which they deserve, one of the best indies from the last decade.
GTA IV is British game, because Rockstar's studio in Scotland made it
And Black Flag was mainly done by Ubisoft Sofia, that's why it's technically Bulgarian game
In fact all GTA games are made in the UK by Rockstar North. It's arguably the "main" Rockstar studio, operating under the Rockstar name, even though "Rockstar" is an American "brand" under Take-Two.
I thought that the AC games were made mainly by the Montreal studio
@@nightspicer Yeah, Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Quebec are 2 main studios that creat ACs, but other studios all over the world do it too, the newest one, Mirage, is mainly done by Ubisoft Bordeaux from France
3:30 I just watched the alt history video on it 😂
2:39 Thats the smoothest "Mexico" prountiation that i have heard from a forgein person
3:21 I was literally watching a video about that man from Alternate History Hub. The man was named Horacio Jackson (I don’t know how to spell his first name).
In Brazil we say "Meshico" too, because in portuguese language the X sounds sh most of time. Sometimes sounds like Z. Sometimes is like a C.
Nobody:

4:03 Drew's joker impression... Oh my god.
Petition for Drew to play Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
Woah the first map is really interesting! 😮 I thought europe would've had way more venomous animals!
Honestly if it did they prob killed all of them
Turns out, basically none. In Poland for example we've got just one, in Germany it's two
11:10
Captain: man I hate bottoming
Sailor: what
Captain: what
The map shows most venomous species. And on average countries have around 30 venomous species, but this map doesn't account for all venomous species, because nearly all 48,000 species of spider are mildly venomous (note how I said mildly, which means that it will give you an itch, but isn't severe enough to kill you). Same with snakes, there are 100s of venomous snake species, but there are very few that will kill you (most snake species are actually non-venomous).
Probably counts only animals with venom dangerous to humans.
there r over 3K species of snakes discovered yet i guess, i expected a higher number of them to be venomous though.
There are 600 venomous snake species, but only 200 are able to cause serious injuries, or possibly kill a human.
Rockstar North, the studio that makes GTA games is based in Scotland
Also, Assasin's Creed games is made by Ubisoft studios all over the worls, but the main one is in Montreal (with significant contribution from studios in Singapore, Bucarest, Sofia and Kiev), so AC4 should be probably be caouted as a Canadian game
I think in case of games with multiple developers it counts for every country they have a department in.
Drew: *mentions Brazil*
Me, a Brazilian: Let’s goooooo, we’re special
He even dedicated an entire topic for it this time!
BRASIL MENCIONADO É NÓIS

>SIngapore is divided by few kilometers wide river
>Singapore used to be a hella dank swamp land
Few kilometres wide river? In a tiny island? what the faq?
@@frustationoverloaded5976 I mean, look at the map yourself
@@KenBladehart then that's not a river at this point, that's a strait.
9:37 i loved killzone so much, played killzone 1 in my childhood and upgraded that later to killzone 3, now there is also shadowfall
We on Brasil don't pronounce "Mexico" the right way because we try, it just has the right pronunciation in Portuguese.
The highland clearances really cut down the population of the highlands in scotland. Forced everyone to move to New Zealand.
And Canada…
Bug Fables is to Paper Mario what Stardew is to Harvest Moon. If you know how impactful Stardew was then you get the gist of how big Big Fables was for that genre of gaming.
6:31 that's probably a reciprocity policy, because Brazil had to ask for visas from them due to too many Mozambicans and Angolans immigrating illegaly
We use cash more in Romania for evident tax reasons. If an official is reading this, I'm not Romanian. (P.S. There is also the rural thing, but there is online/mobile banking and even grandma's in the mountains have Facebook)
the way drew has improved in geography over time is inspiring, I enjoy watching these videos even tho I dont know much about geography (yet)
Tell them that only at my university can you always find tarantulas, coral snakes, poisonous scorpions, black widows, hundred feet, tarantula-killing wasps, burnworms, poisonous toads, and the odd snake.
A normal day in the park in Tacoland compadre.
Romania is smart enough not to take stolen money to a bank
China: it’s dangerous to set my land visa-free 😮
*open Hainan Province , Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR to Brazil for tourists (u can see it in the map)
CN: oh,they are basically islands😊
Its worth noting that they use critic review ratings not user review ratings. If you look at the german game "Out of the park baseball 2007" it has 96 metascore over 5 critic reviews and 2.6 score over 809 user ratings.
I highly recommend Bug Fables. If you like Paper Mario but don't think a good one has been made since Thousand Year Door, I really recommend this game.
How did Thailand MOSTLY dodge the Western powers? Well, when they were losing land, the king of Thailand of that time asked Russia for help. (Russia was threatening at that time)
We need drew to play bug fables
There is a current border issue between brasil and french gyuana, so tho relations generally are good they dont want "picket moving" and more tension
Really ?? I didn't know about this. I knew about a maritime border dispute with Brasil, but I think it's solved, and a land border dispute with Suriname, which is not solved but France controls the disputed territory de facto.
I like how he made his own game called "Maps Explained"
Mexico issue has to do with the fact of how in each language the letter "x" sounds. In Spanish it sounds as H but in Portuguese and Galician it sounds SH.
X in portuguese can sound like "z", "sh", "cs" and "s" and can also not have a sound, like in the word "excelente"
@@enzonavarro8550 no. Dont make up. Excelente also sounds "Shelente"
Damn Forager was made in Argentina. That was like one of my favourite indie games ever.
Also why isnt BTD6 pr BTD5 the best rated games from New Zealand? They are masterpieces and the best Tower Defense games ever since PvZ and Ninja Kiwi has one of the best dev teams Ive ever seen
The same reason this weird Baseball game was the best rated game in Germany. the Baseball game has 5 reviews, the woooords game from nz has 4 reviews. SO basically almost noone reviewed them, but those who did, gave good reviews. While as the other games have way more reviews, most of them being good, but also with some mixed ones, which gave them an overall worse rating. I also would have guessed that Crysis, with a 91 rating, would be the best rated german game.
4:24 how tf… does everyone in Europe already have money at age 15 or something?
The colors on that UK population quadrant map reminds me of a giant Simon game
8:44 I thought that the best game from the Czech Republic is Mafia. 🤔🇨🇿
And funny thing, in Chinese we call mexico “mo xi ge”, I have seen people confuse it with Moscow (which is pronounced “mo si ke” lol
And then Vietnam took the Chinese characters but with Vietnamese pronounciation however 西 is pronounced Tây in Vietnamese so it became Mễ Tây Cơ
The funniest thing is that alternate history hub just made a video about the first man who crossed the us with a car
The car actually had to get towed at one point and, ironically, it was towed by horse
Im actually mad that they did not include Serious Sam or Doodle Jump from Croatia.
Drew: Calles Sumatra "Java"
Ne: "No, thats not what you say!"
8:29 Colombia casually pulling out a JRPG like game XD
Points towards sumatra: 'Or Java perhaps'
8:21 Bug Fables is an banger game, must play for anyone who likes rpgs
In Galicia you may say "meSHico" as the X letter is pronounced as a 'sh' sound in Galician, which is very very similar to Portuguese.
Fun fact, it is not infrequent to hear people there call taxis "tashis".
I think there should be a minimum ammount of reviews for that highest rated videogames map as else you get a bunch of smaller games.
Va11 Hall-A is indeed epic but also super chill, also i thought all this time that it was made in Brazil
The eu banking part proves portugal is a balkan country
6:40 they were Portuguese colonies in completely different time periods and don't have any cultural or historical aspects in common except language...

0:32 guys look at the Uruguay-Brazilian border. That's a black di-
I mean, the Anatolia region was part of Rome then Byzantium (which is still Rome) up till the late 1400s. Rome is the definition pf “western power”, bc everyone compares themselves to it, therefore it was touched by “western powers”.
Colonization started around that time also.

2:20 can confirm, in Portuguese(I'm Brazilian) we indeed say "Meshico"
10:03 There used to be a lot of people there, but one day, a million scottish people just disappeared. You know what's funny? On that same exact day, New Zealand's population also went up one million. That's crazy right?
1:51 Well, let me answer the question:
We have dengue (In the country) and now (Maybe, or it's just my place) Zika
Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary it is basically only pensioners without bank account. They can opt to receive their pension in cash delivered by mailman :)
0:22 And also China and the US importing their species (Especially China ,they imported more than 80% of the invasives species in Europe ,well it's not their fault for the migrants)
Drew is right about the video game map being wrong in the sense that it s just ratings not popularity.Turkey would have gotten Bannerlord if that was the case but they got Darklings.

True, there are a lot of wooden ships at the bottom of the lakes, but the most famous and deadly shipwreck was the Edmond Fitzgerald. Which sank in 1975! A lot of ships that go down are recent.
The lakes are dangerous because people underestimate them.
