I just got a used Subwoofer and the cone has slid what is the best way to fix that? There is a video on my page if you need to see it. Thanks, enjoy your videos
I don't normally take the time to comment on UA-cam videos but I've watched several of your videos and I wanted to thank you for all of your videos. I've been a car audio addict for over 15 years and professional automotive technician for 10 years. Your videos really inspire me to take my skills to the next level. Thank you again for all of your videos. You are truly a talented fabricator.
will willis Thank you, I really appreciate that, glad to hear you are enjoying the videos. :) The comments and "likes" really help the videos to show up better in your feed so if you could help me out by doing that it is appreciated. :)
Great tips. Love your videos. You should thin your glue w lacquer thinner. It will spray way better. Also using foam to emboss is kinda squishy. You get better results from something hard like wood or bondo or even an actual bronco logo. Thanks for sharing you have improved my work.
Mark, I listen to literally all music types. Frank Sinatra, Country, Alternative, Rock, Some old school rap (NWA, Ice cube, Easy E) Heck sometimes 16 year old daughter plays something she mistakenly called music. Initially I planned on firing the subwoofer up into the rear seat or down into the floor . But without a seat lift my needed mounting depth and X-Max wouldn't have enough clearance to play freely. I have a DC Audio M3 8. The generic recommendation from DC Audio is .75 cuft While playing around w/ multiple Airspace options in WinISD and Speaker Box Lite via Android app and the Web version I come up with a nice looking curve using .94 ft cubed. I have up to 1.3 but have settled on .94. The programs are recommending a 4x1 slot port at 17.9 inches long. This gives an FB of 24hz and a F3 of 20.7. I know sub box performance can vary based on vehicle and physical location. My vehicle is a 2011 f150 supercrew and it being installed under the rear seat firing forward directly in the center of the rear seat. Question 1. Should I select my own tuning frequency or is the Algorithm used by WinISD calculating the the only tuning based on the subs TS parameters or is it just a middle of the road option that is recommended? I know that certain vehicles like hatchbacks can give a few DB increase if firing back or up at the glass. When porting this subwoofer I had planned on firing the port into the space behind the rear seat in an attempt to get a possible db boost. Question 2. Should I fire the port and subwoofer both forward or is my rear port idea into the open space behind the rear seat valid? I appreciate any input you can provide me.
This is a great video. I think it would be good to add since this is about making BETTER boxes, as you put it, that Birch plywood is a better alternative to MDF.
Do you recommend epoxying or spraying any kind of liner on the inside of a subwoofer box? I've heard that it can help the output of a sub. Great videos btw👍🏼
Dude I love your work I'm never going to build my systems without consulting your videos. It's going to be a while till I get started on my car but I'll make sure to share my progress with you.
Always stunting it mark. U think u could go over how u set up amp gains and what brand speakers amps subs etc. U would recommend? Known ones and not so well known? Thanks mark. Always supporting
CarAudioFabrication Thanks for this Mark! I am gonna be buying a router and table saw this year! I am gonna have to pick up some of the mobile solutions things so I can work on my box for the RSX and I am gonna make a box for my new to me truck 2013 Tacoma double cab! Thanks again for always providing awesome and helpful videos!
Mark that came out awesome as always. I think I caught a quick glance of some of the used gifts cards I sent you to spread body filler ha. Its finally getting warmer here in CT so hoping to get back to working on the car
so cool bro.. ive just visited Car toys to get my own custom box along with JL Audio HD900/5 amp and (2)12W3V3-4 Subs , tweeters and mids... wanted to research and learn about the process because the cost was ASTRONOMICAL
alternatively if want bolder raised letters. brush the contact cement into the vinyl and under design quickly. use tool with a rounded edge. to make the material get tighter into the corner. will hold a lot better than spray glue. use a heat gun with armor all on the vinyl to reactivate the cement if starting to set up. armor all will protect the vinyl. heat will soften up the cement. speed is key. if do it will have more pop
Man that's a clean box, custom box designs are cool but to the people who cant build its a shame no one is custom building boxes and shipping them anymore Davetheboxguy shut down his shop so now im most likely stuck with a prefab X_X.
I love the videos, do you plan to make any videos using fiber glass or how to do complete (non false wall) builds. Im curious how to do a whole trunk and have it flow together without just slapping up a fancy false wall
Just built your box but tuned to 35hz , I'm putting 2 x gto 1214's in there. If I upgrade to ground zero gzrw30xspl would this enclosure be too small? Btw I've learnt a lot from your vids, thanks for the help in the uk.
Thank you ! For seat ibiza cupra 6j its ok to put dd audio 712d (1200rms)with gzca 1500m1 (1350wrms) and condensator 5 farad with the original alternator off the car ?
I like this design. Can you please do a video of how one would design a 3 12" subs with a slot for mounting 2 amp 8000 w for speakers and tweeters and a single monoblock and on top of that box build something similar to a Phoenix Gold ZPROB654 High SPL Audio Speaker Box 6.5" Mid Bass and 3.6" Tweeters and on the sub box mount 6x 6x9 speakers. How would you design this and would it fit into a Suzuki ertiga boot..? I see you have done plenty of sub boxes but they all somewhat minimalist so I'd like to challenge you to design a complete sound box setup with 3 subs, 4 bullet tweeters, 4 mid range, 6 6x9 amps mounted in a slot on top of the sub box below the phoenix like box for the mids and the tweeters
What do you call the black stuff all around the box, is that just plain carpet? Because I look for carpet and a different results comes out. Can you help?
I have an 03 ford super duty 4 door that I have already moved the rear seat ahead 1.5 inch to make room for a box for 4 8 inch subs behind the seat. Do you have any videos of a sub box build for a truck like this or a recommendation of someone who does. Love all the videos...
Afistnu Good questions, I always have a link in the video description for all tools and materials. In this case you can find that info here: goo.gl/GiO68l
Can you apply heat from a tourch to a exacto blade and cut through the foam or will it just melt/catch fire-just curious to weather or not it's possible to get a cleaner cut?
You make this stuff look fun I have 2 new 15s and going to put them in a small car and do not give a shit It will be overkill but might as well go big or go home. What do you use for home stereo speakers. ?
Which Speaker is better: 1.- The "Front sound" without obstacles and the "Back sound" runs through a maze to reach the Speaker's exit. 2.- The "Front sound" runs through a maze to reach the Speaker's exit, and the "Back sound" comes out through a "simple tube" thanks
That is very highly made! Much better then dj world crap boxes being used! Love to make some of these as in active! Do you have any help with making active subwoofer with handles i will pay for a design
I would pay you to make a custom Honda CRX sub box, and help film it for additional youtube ad revenue! I imported a CRX from Japan... the only difference between USDM and JDM is the shallow ABS box near the left of the wheel well. It's not entirely complicated but I would be more than happy to compensate you for your work. Especially if you could Emboss CRX on it like you did Bronco... cheers!
do you have a list of the different tools you used in this video and where you buy them? also what edheisive glue are you using for the carpet and vinyl and where can it be purchased in bulk?
Was this design for 2 12inch subs? I am trying to DIY the same ported box, and i am king of stuck with the port size. my box front panel is basically smaller than the port size (port size: 3inch x 16inch), i need to do the port 3.5inch x 13inch port opening and 44inch L port shape lengh to fit perfectly. This means L shape port 22inch L shape on each side, as the port will be located in middle of the box. Is this correct?
Hey there I watch all your videos and enjoy them you do great work I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on making a custom box for my truck I would like it to be ported but I'm not sure how to get it all started
CarAudioFabrication Do you guys have the actual PDF file of the box you built in the video. I want to build my own box for 2 12" subs and just need something to fall upon. Thanks
I have a question: I have a jeep CJ5 I want to put a box under the rear seat. Its outside dimensions are 4X20X30 to fit under the seat. I think I can put 6X9s with an angled wall and a single small woofer. Any suggestions? Ever build a box in that tight of an area?

That's not true, He actually cut a few corners just in this one video.

This is awesome! I'm trying to design a system for my semi truck. I have a lot of room inside the cab to work with.
Awesome video. Answers lots of questions I didnt even know I had about some of the techniques you use to get the amazing results you do. Thanks Mark.

I would honestly buy one of these, I don't have the skills or tools required to build something like this
This can be purchased for $800 + depending on finish.

Youre incredible bro.

What’s the measurement for the inner port wall?
...thank you very much... from thailand 13 november 2022
Can you apply heat from a tourch to a exacto blade and cut through the foam or will it just melt/catch fire-just curious to weather or not it's possible to get a cleaner cut?
randall jr Benoit Possibly, I don't see the need though, once you cover with foam and surface with vinyl the foam edge loses its resolution.
For sure, leather or swade too?
Swede*
Very good 👍👍👍
Very nice video! Thank you so much!
What subs were being installed in tha subwoofer boc? Nice video and build brutha!!!! 👍👍👌👌✌✌
good afternoon like your videos and accompany the channel already some time.
most have many doubts because I'm starting to work cutting boxes now
Jesus Mark, great work.
Superb!
+ANTHONY CABALLERO Thanks yo!
+CarAudioFabrication Is a longer port gonna give me any advantages if i have the place so I dont have to make comprimizes somewhere else?
You make this stuff look fun I have 2 new 15s and going to put them in a small car and do not give a shit It will be overkill but might as well go big or go home. What do you use for home stereo speakers. ?
How do you feel about spraying the inside of a box with Flex Seal rubber spray? Would this affect the acoustic quality by trapping air in too well?

what the body filler crack from the bass?
So I made it to Mobile Solutions. That’s a awesome toy store.
Nice box. Would love to hear them or see them perform
does the enclosure make more bass from other boxes??
Can you use and explain different types of commonly used woods in box building and pros and cons, thanks
That is very highly made! Much better then dj world crap boxes being used! Love to make some of these as in active! Do you have any help with making active subwoofer with handles i will pay for a design

Hey! Love your videos! Just wondering if you use dampening on your boxes? If so what do you use and how do you work out how much to put in?
Tyler Peisley u mean bracing?
Hey there I watch all your videos and enjoy them you do great work I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on making a custom box for my truck I would like it to be ported but I'm not sure how to get it all started
hey a good vid would be. why is air space important. also how a ported box works
Does the space between the vent opening and the subs have to be that far away? I’m working with limited space-_- (32 inches for length)
Nice bro
One question I have is, does the empty void behind the 45's in the corners have any chance of causing any resonance issues?
great video
Awesome finish buddy. Can I ask, which table saw do you have?
CarAudioFabrication Do you guys have the actual PDF file of the box you built in the video. I want to build my own box for 2 12" subs and just need something to fall upon. Thanks

Awesome job Mark! I've always been curious, Is car audio your full time job?
I want a box which I can fit a 10inch woofer, and 6inch speakers.. Can you give me some ideas on how I can get some design..?
How about a custom sub box for the spare tire compartment in a 2015 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack? Mine doesn't come with a spare and I think a subwoofer in that space would be sweet!!

Wow! Love it!!
awsome work
Hi mark what box design software do you use?
My boss told me to get Turn Pro box builder but I cant seem to find it online to purchase and I just need a great program to also do band pass boxes.
Do you have any recommendations?
Great videos btw. I use lots of tips and tricks you show in most of my custom builds
Hello , I was wondering if you can help me build or fin a and active pole mountable speaker for mid/hi only with around 4400peak 2200rms ,or close to it .
Does 1 sub move more than d other in this box bcuz there is no divider
Nice
