Patrick Monkman : Look up some dub techno videos. It had this typical bass sound with a dark and long delay. Check out Vøsne, he has very good dub techno jams.
I’ve listened to this too many times to count. It’s truly amazing to watch you two squeeze such amazing sounds out of just some Korg Volcas and some FX. Further reinforces that it isn’t really the gear you use that matters as much as the musician behind it all. Overall two big thumbs up!
Love the clean, well-defined mix you're able to achieve with this gear. Sound selection is very very smart and it's clear you both know these machines inside and out. Awesome.
Thank you for the kind words!! We practiced a lot (as you can see from the number of videos on our channel) to get to this sound and kept looking for ways to improve it. :)
Just stumbled into this gem, subscribed in an instant. How is this not acknowledged by Korg is a mystery to me. Excellent setup and awesome jam. Many thanks for sharing it with us! 🔥💯
This is a great set! I am playing it while getting dinner ready. It reminds me of DEEP SPACE HOUSE, one of my favorite channels on UA-cam, now ruined by commercials. You did a great job throughout the set bringing in new elements to keep it fresh. I imagine that you will be getting more gigs if you keep this up. It was so good that I had to listen to it twice in a row.
Joseph Wright : Wow, thank you so much for the kind words!! We really enjoyed this jam as well. It’s interesting, we really had to focus and listen carefully to keep things minimal, but still progressing at the same time. :)
Slenterende Beer I don’t know if you have the Premium version of UA-cam with no commercials. If so, check this out: ua-cam.com/video/eA2UZsUd6rM/v-deo.html
this is so chill... lovin it.. middle of winter in stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne Australia with 8 pm curfew!! all ya need is a moogs and I will not sleep for days lol.
Cable management supremacy..im looking into buy some of these and I tripped out seeing this insanity...superb trancy beat bro.amazing what you created here
letronchosier : Actually, everything here was improvised. We knew which sounds we were starting with, but from that point on we just let the music guide us. Thanks for listening!! :)
Great video! Makes it actually comprehensible to me as a novice how to use these devices, what they do and what effects they produce, and how live-sets work. So cool to be able to follow along in real-time and hear the effects of your actions. Plus what a good taste you got, it's a brilliant jam! Keep it coming...
Very nice session friends! Any recommendation how to approach building a setup like that yourself? Meaning - what to go first, what makes sense to buy later?
I don't know if you already done that but I would love to see a video where you explain all the details about the way you plug all these things together !
I am following your channel and enjoy your work very much. I looked at your how-to video but you are using the ufx1204 (different mixer/interface) in this video and I wonder how you are getting the effects mixed into the final track while live recording. My ufx1204 doesn't allow me to record anything via the effects send and return. Your help is greatly appreciated. Head on over to my channel if you are interested in what I do.
Plates In The Sky : We don’t use the send-return for effects in this setup: (almost) every Volca has its own effect (see description), so we’re only recording the wet sound.
@@SlenterendeBeer Understood. Thanks for the quick reply. I believe the master mix outs may produce an "effected" version when using the sends and returns. I haven't tested it yet. Each person has their own workflow. I do not have a lot of pedals so I like the convenience of using the send/return.
I'm sorry... Can I listen this and play Elite:Dangerous space sim game on my stream ? I am ready to mention you and give a link to your page . Thanks for You soundworks!
Maximiliano Castellanos : Start with one, then build from there, step by step. I started with the Volca Sample because I wanted to make beats. Then I got the Keys and FM for synths. Next came effects, and after that came MIDI controllers. The important thing is to take it slow and take your time to get to know these machines. And it always helps to have musical knowledge / experience - they’re machines for making music after all. If you know how to build a basic beat or how to play a chord, that will make it easier and more fun to play with them. Let me know if you have specific questions. :)
Slenterende Beer Thank you so much for replying means the world to me! i absolutely love your work and seeing this video really inspired me to start trying. I’ll probably start off by getting a volca sample since my main interest is to make beats and i’ll move up from there. Again, thank you, you made my day!
MisterGrooves : We have the MS-70CDR (used with the VSample here), and the MS-50G (used with the compressor). The latter has distortion/overdrive and amp modeling effects as well, but it doesn’t have all of the effects that the CDR has.
Fantastic set up you have , and so great skills to play it for your amazing production ! Just love it ! Thank you so much for sharing these splendid uploads ! 💚💚💚💚
That RNC Compressor really makes everything sound "really nice" where is that kick coming from? (I tend to ask alot of questions 😁) nevermind I see it clearly coming from the volca sample because the volca drum you just simply cannot make a drum kick that sounds like that if you can prove me wrong please great video sounds perfect
thank you, that was superb. I am just (re)starting a hardware jam setup, starting cheaply with Pocket Operators, but eyeing the volcas as a next step. I'm weighing between the FM, Keys, or Modular, but I'm not sure which one is going to be the most flexible. Do you have any advice?
This is not a production, this is setup. Deep respect for this deep vibes....
Thank you so much!! :)
nice dub techno in my opinion. I wish i knew somebody to share my passion for music with. These people are hard to find.
100% true :/
Thank you! And I agree: it's a rare thing.
I agree, so many people just listen to what is force-fed to them without questioning why they are listening to such garbage.
What's the difference between dun techno and deep house? I thought this was deep house
Patrick Monkman : Look up some dub techno videos. It had this typical bass sound with a dark and long delay. Check out Vøsne, he has very good dub techno jams.
Their work looks like flying on a spaceship. Incredible. Great set.
wisknicksor : It often also feels like that while playing. Thanks for listening!! :)
I’ve listened to this too many times to count. It’s truly amazing to watch you two squeeze such amazing sounds out of just some Korg Volcas and some FX. Further reinforces that it isn’t really the gear you use that matters as much as the musician behind it all. Overall two big thumbs up!

This is wonderful! Such a groove, such a flow. I love it
how am I only seeing this now, this is the deep and dubby my soul needs
many machines but, it leaves me with more flavor, simple and classic sound. regards

Do we need to fear no more videos. You guys are such an inspiration - we need more... :)
Yeah we had some other things on our minds for a while. There's a new jam up though! And more coming. :)
Veel gekleurde lampjes, het maakt een geluid maar dat is dan ook alles !

Enjoyed this! You guys ought to invest in a multi-channel compressor to give everything more punch and phatboyness 👊🤠
wow... insane stuff. as a DUO too ! sheesh ... killin it
Very nice session friends! Any recommendation how to approach building a setup like that yourself? Meaning - what to go first, what makes sense to buy later?
This is me, but I'd go for volca keys or volca sample...if you can afford both, go for it!
Nice sound and setup, i can't stop listen it

ШИКАРДОС!!!!!!
павел русаков : I don’t know what that means. ;)
@@SlenterendeBeer it means in Russian something like great
павел русаков : I thought it would be something like that, but Google Translate couldn’t help me. :) Thanks!!
How much electric sockets did you need? Tried at home the 5-way-power-connector for the volcas but it makes some noise...
Amazing piece of art that you guys have made!
You have earned a subscription.
