Reminds me of the dreadful, yet cozy nights at the DB Weldon Library. I'm pretty lousy with my study habits, so I often needed the pressure of imminent exams to make myself study by going over to the library. The place is so very concrete-abundant, the name "concrete beach" is lovingly and sarcastically given to the outside area between that library, the University Community Centre, and ugly yet delightfully nostalgic Social Science Centre. At one point, I probably had at least a week that my sleep schedule was so upside-down, I only ever saw sunlight towards the end of my intense study session from the windows at the library at sunrise. Some of the places there definitely feel like candidates for a cameo in the Backrooms. Especially with connecting underground tunnels between buildings. It really was an experience to wander through that network at night.
those brutalist libraries are pretty as hell, far more interesting than the 2010s-2020s bland campus buildings with more in the way of cheap popup hotels and less in the way of architecture
