Hey man trust you are well, hope I am not coming off as annoying to you. just wanted to let you know I did a 50mm exhuast all through, and wow! massive difference, no loss in bottom end and top end it just screams now
sorry mate being busy lately that's a good size exhaust to do wouldn't recommend anything over 2.5 inch's for a naturally asperated or you can lose back pressure. when i done my custom exhaust it gave it a huge power increase compared to the stock exhaust should sound quite nice now did you do exhaust headers as well ?
Discovered that on a previous rebuild at 180000km, the large inlet and exhaust valves were swapped around in each cylinder. Did a further 230000 km like that.(S.A Toyota Tazz) Sadly, I can't say the same for the cambelt...it tried !
Soak the head in dpf cleaner for 48hours it comes in a 5litre can, it will bring it back up like new like it just came out of the factory save ya scrubbing with a toothbrush 👌
I replaced my cylinder head with a brand new assembly (cylinder head including all the internals). I had the machine shop do the valve seating, valve lapping, and clearance. Once It was installed onto my block (newly overhauled btw), it started making a ticking sound that goes fast when I rev the engine. Tried to adjust the valve clearance several times ( intake 0.15mm, exhaust 0.20mm) but the ticking sound is still there and the adjustment changes again. Why is that? :(

This is some good stuff. Wanting to do work to learn about some automotive work, as a hobbie. Would you guys recommend working on a 2e or is it a waste of money. Also could you link parts! Cheers
Hey man, my 2E engine is smoking crazy so I'm gonna attempt to open the engine, rebuild the head and change piston rings + hone the cylinders. Any other mod that you would suggest to make it more snappy? Ty for the shared knowledge brother!
i would recommend doing the oil pressure mod putting two 1mm shims in if NA or 3 if turbo also getting an exhaust manifold will give you a good power increase. If you have the skills you could do a port and polish job on the head, intake manifold. That will give the head more flow also get some performance valve springs allows you to rev the motor higher.
good question a 2e head will fit on a 3e block you would want to use the 2e cam gear and a 3e belt because a 3e block is slightly higher than a 2e block but there might be a bit of slack in the timing belt i haven't done this yet so you be trial and error testing it also i found no info on doing this swap yet thanks. it all would be guess work
Nice work Gents !
Got one of these 2E's in what we call a Tazz here in SA CPT . thanks for sharing the knowledge and inspiration 🔥
Thanks m8
I Owned a 3E engine, got bigger valve lap and longer stroke and swapped in a tazz

Nice one brodie and oliver
Mad respect, not a lot of quality content covering this engine
thanks
Hey man hope you are well, what are your thoughts on an exhuast for a 2e? size etc?

yes would definitely recommend the 2E its very easy to engine work on also once you put a few mod on it you can make it quite quick
@@RuggedGarage spill the beans on headers, camshaft etc..

@@RuggedGarage Thank you very much brother! Keep up the good work, you're one of the few that has content for that engine!
Hi mate, know this is from a while ago but where’s you get the tighter clips from?
i ended up snapping 4 of them so changed back to stock ones
can i put the 2e cylnder head on 3e block? what timing belt can i use?

@@RuggedGarage why will the timing belt loosen when i put is 2e cam gear. is the 2e cam gear smaller than the 3e cam gear?
Goods..👍👍👍
