I love that motor! Keep it up. By the way, I've noticed in my 2e that with Bosch sparkplugs i have better acceleration even from 1500 rpm compared with the NGK ones
the bosch seem to run alot better compared to the ngk spark plugs i have also used the champion spark plug i would not recommend these because 3 off them snapped off in my head was a mission to get the out
@@RuggedGarage ngk denso and bosch are the only ones that should be used as per the manual?
That's a mean set up mate... I rekon u got a ae91 aye...I got a ae80 with 2e 5 speed manual tranny...files like hell

its a ee90R model built in New Zealand this is the base 2 door package but looks very similar to a ae91 yea quite like the shape of the ae80 but to expensive for a good condition one in my country.

Love the build guys can't wait to see it driving, quick question if I fitted a 266 cam to my 2e would I have to make valve clearance on the piston aswell? or is it because yours is a 290
a 266 cam would run sweet can put a 280 duration before any problems with valve to piston clearance thanks i have a 266 in one of my engines and runs sweet good bit of add power as well thanks.

Hi how did you get rid of that smoke from the night before? The next morning the smoke was gone. My 2e is doing that
nice work, do you really need the fuel regulator with that pump?
I've got a starlet with 5efhe which I almost finished converting to carb. I cant use the stock fuel pump because its high pressure for EFI, so I ended up using an electric pump from an old Honda City, they came with carbs, but had electric pumps
yes you will need a fuel pressure reg so you can control how much fuel goes in. in my case its around 3-3.5 psi of pressure thanks

Is it possible to change the engine to a 5A efi or for longevity purposes what would you recommend be done for a smooth running vehicle, I will appreciate the feedback 🙏🏾🇿🇲
Hey mate the engine swap would me alot of work the 2e engine are quite fuel efficient I would recommend to upgrade the carb and replace the valve steam seals those are the most common issues with the motor thanks

I am currently building one in the UK. Where did you get your 292 cam please? Been after an upgraded cam for awhile.
custom cam got it welded up then shaven to the specs cost alot of money need you will need to find a company that regrinds camshafts
How did you get rid of the original vacuum System? Mine just got repaired, and The mechanics said, every connection is important, to run The engine smoothly.
i removed the whole metal vacuum assembly and wire in one way valves to make it run smoothly and make it more simpler.
Want that on my 2e tazz
Did you convert the distributor to electronic or did u leave it points and coil ?
its factory electric dizzy but i might convert to coil and point
Are those 2 carburators on one enggine ? Are the purpose to put more gasoline and air to the enggine?

yep because the fuel pressure for weber carb needs to be set a 3-3.5 psi
How do you fix an oil leak for this engine? I’ve bought a new oil pump but it’s still leaking
paper gaskets or toyota version of rvt sealant
Any idea where you can get a 2e service manual . My 2e is failing the emissions test for mot . Is this cause of valves leaking I wounder and maybe headgaskit is toast 🤔🫡
yea mate you can buy it online if the valve are leaking they might just need new valve steam seals and a lap on the valves might fix it

Did you bore your pistons? Or is it stock?
stock bore size and piston i only got them drilled for the 292 cam i also rehoning the cylinders and i put standard piston ring on the pistons

south African manifold very hard to find now only fits 1/2/3 E motors

Yes it will use quite a bit more gas

no exhaust only the headers where attached thats why it sound bad

all vacum lines removed only brake booster

Sur ce 2E j'ai un arbre a came et un carburateur mikuni mais je sais juste qu'il tourne bien car je commence par la carrosserie !!!
hey bro i used champion spark plugs before they don't seem to like the high rpms the bosch seem to do alot better and also last longer

How do find the twin dcoe 40s? Doing that modification too but thought it might be too much for the car
they run good their prefect for high rpms make the car feel completely different would highly recommend this upgrade you wont see any massive gain with out a decent upgraded cam
@@RuggedGarage Thanks for the info. I wasn't looking for massive gains, just something that sounds better and better than the standard asian carburettor
